  1. An Open Letter to America
  2.
  3. Dear America,
  4.
  5. I am a concerned Canadian. Concerned for the people, your rights, and your
  6. democracy. I have not always seen eye-to-eye with your politicians, but at one
  7. time I truly believed that America, (despite a few policies I personally didn't
  8. agree with) was a still pinnacle of freedom, and a leading example for other
  9. countries to follow.
  10.
  11. Yet now, I look to the south and have nothing but sympathies and condolences for
  12. your lost freedoms, subversion of your democracy and corruption of the press.
  13. The 'free market' is broken and corruption runs rampant everywhere. Your
  14. politicians would rather fight amongst themselves than work together to solve
  15. anything. The press feeds us lies to suit the government and the corporations
  16. that own them, seemingly the people sheepishly wander with the herd. Never in
  17. America's history has the power of the people been so viciously usurped by the
  18. money and power of corporations.
  19.
  20. My beloved America, when the British came, you held steady and fought hard for
  21. what you believed in and won. With that, you went on to create the greatest
  22. country in the world! The land of the free! Home of the brave! Your own anthem
  23. sings passionately of the courage, bravery and struggle it took to break free
  24. from this oppression. What a beautiful anthem it is! It is disheartening that
  25. this song is sung across your nation in every school, sports game and official
  26. function on a daily basis, yet it's meaning has been totally forgotten.
  27.
  28. Well, the good times of the 'freedom years' are long over, and I find it hard to
  29. believe that so many good American people, who still hold true to the original
  30. values of what America was built on, can idly stand by and watch their country
  31. go down in the burning mess it is.
  32.
  33. The politicians will not fix the system. It is seemingly impossible to most
  34. people that what they believe in can make a difference. Well America, you CAN
  35. make a difference, but this is where you need to actually do something and
  36. you can NOT rely on the government or anyone else to do it for you! You need to
  37. take to the streets and protest; Write letters, e-mails, and petition like
  38. you have never seen before in your lifetime! You have the power of the internet
  39. on your side and a world that for the most part would support you in your
  40. struggles. We are well aware of the corporate ownership of America too. We don't
  41. particularly care for it either!
  42.
  43. Now more than ever it's time for every angry American, and every person
  44. who loves America to speak out and make a change. Not in a rhetoric Obama sense
  45. either. Excercise your freedom of speech! I mean literally get out and do the
  46. foot work. There's plenty of unemployed people with nothing better to do. ITS
  47. TIME TAKE YOUR COUNTRY BACK AMERICA!
  48.
  49. The government may jail you, beat you, heaven forbid, even kill you. The
  50. foundations of America were built on the bravery of men and women willing to
  51. die for what they believed in, and with the dire corporate occupation of
  52. America, I see no reason why any red-blooded American woudln't fight
  53. till the death to regain control of their country again.
  54.
  55. God bless America, land of the free, home of the brave, and Canada, true north
  56. strong and free!
  57.
  58. LETS ROLL AMERICA! FOR FREEDOM!
  59.
  60. Sincerely,
  61. A concerned Canadian
  62.
  63. PS. If this letter was inspirational to you, I encourage you spread it around to
  64. as many people and institutions as possible.
