Henry renegotiates his deal with Mathias. Walt's search for Donna leads to too many suspects. A phone message sends Walt down an unexpected path.
Walt heads down to Cumberland County to ID a Jane Doe, which turns out to not be Donna. Henry's first assignment for Mathias goes awry leading Mathias to threaten to send in the blood samples to the FBI if Henry screws up again. Walt's investigation into Donna's disappearance leads to a confrontation with Walker Browning and Sheriff Wilkins.
As with last season, Longmire&#39;s setting allows it to explore challenging social issues often left untouched in other media. Rape in the military, society&#39;s varied treatment of combat veterans, and the reluctance to seek help for mental health issues by veterans and civilians alike all make an appearance and come together to resolve the4th season&#39;s cliffhanger in an unexpected way. <br/><br/>However, in usual Longmire fashion, it does it in a way that doesn&#39;t become soapboxy, and rather enhances the compelling character exploration that occurs this season. Walt&#39;s nuanced approach to dangerous situations allows the suspects to reveal thought-provoking motivations that create just as much potential for reflection for the viewer as it does Walt himself.
