The soldier would yell, "Yes sir!" as Jason hangs up and raises his visor. After a couple of minutes, a loud crash would be heard outside. "There's your tank."

After that, she just perched herself back where she had been prior. Content with the fact that the authorities and whatever force the President could or would muster in response to outright treason would suffice.

The best part is, they all answer to me. I can lend you some of my men and several tanks for your defense. They won't be patrolling the street like Nazis, but they will strike at my command. Or rather, your command. Free of charge."

  583. Lieutenant Karan Starr didn't enjoy doing this sort of work in closed quarters, especially given that she wasn't going to just allow Jason to take the brunt of any missed swing. Regardless of that she wasn't going to underestimate the strength of someone with the lunacy to claim themselves to be the devil. The ones levying that claim tend to have some sort of capability that lead them to those thoughts to begin with. Trained as she was in close quarters combat she'd expected a strike from the both of them, and with both of her hands occupied she could only do as well as swing her form back, narrowly avoiding a full collision with the fist though it succeeded in clipping her nose regardless. In the same motion she jerked both of her occupied or otherwise grasped hands down in order to let the two collide with the momentum and hope that the Satan among them wasn't a surface as solid as herself. She didn't find it likely.

Lieutenant Karan Starr waited precisely for him to start speaking like she knew he would if she had showed an expression of any sort, as he was an inflammatory and reactionary sort that was that easy to get a rise out of. It wouldn't even take him the time it took to get more than a few syllables out of his mouth before she shot off in a blue and white blur. Not quite a flier, but she still had feet and it was with that burst of speed that her original target, Jason, was honed in on. Instead of any sort of grab of the arm she opted to throw an arm entirely around the man's midsection and if successful, simply hold him right there nice and tight in that steel grip.
