<Vigilant_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
<Vigilant_GM> You are certain the luminosity of the being before you has blinded you. Despite the impossibly overpowering brightness, your minds interpret figures, shapes, features that shift before you.

* Velam stands stock still, sweat beading across his temple as Velam mentally recoils in horror. He tries to block his view with his hands, the brigh light like looking into a sun.
<Vigilant_GM> "Reduced to a mere power-source is an undignified existence, you would agree?"
* Thesse bears her shield upward, trying to escape the blinding light.
<Vigilant_GM> *Reduced to a mere power-source is an undignified existence, you would agree?*
* Davos starts sweating profusely.
* Karpath is unmoving at the moment from the wound he took as he lies on the ground.
<Vigilant_GM> A dreadful pull of pure willpower has some part of you instinctively wanting to agree with the aparition.
* Almarax shields his human eyes and attempts to reconfigure his mechanenderite to filter out the 'light' to no avail.
* Baird takes a deep breath as he steels his nerves. "Sister, now is the time for litanies. The rest of you steel your nerves!"
* Karpath starts to stir due to the light, as he opens his eye he brings his hand up to protect his eye.
* Thesse starts yelling "The Emperor is our guiding light, a beacon of hope for humanity in a galaxy of darkness. As we serve Him, He is our greatest servant."
<Karpath> Pain rushes through him as the damage he has takes, not since Desoleum when he lost his leg has he felt so much pain.
* Almarax attempts to focus his attention on his Augur Array but is unable to focus due to the light.
<Vigilant_GM> "Do you know, Thomas Baird, how your Master earned his rosette?"
<Vigilant_GM> Do you know, Thomas Baird, how your Master earned his rosette?
<Vigilant_GM> Images of Inquisitor Mortem rush through you, short passing images flying through the blinding light.
<Vigilant_GM> The rosette was plied from the cold dead hands of his master. Betrayal, the ladder of his choosing.
<Baird> "I trust nothing you say, your kind spew poison as easily as others breathe. I deny you!"
<Vigilant_GM> He made his decision.
* Velam breathing starts to speed up as he shuts his eyes tight, trying his best to not see what is not seen.
<Vigilant_GM> The images now vivid. A younger Mortem holstering a weapon, as he kneels beside a corpse still spilling its blood. He grips the rosette firmly in his hands, and snaps the straps securing it to the dead inquisitor.
<Vigilant_GM> Will you now make yours?
<Vigilant_GM> Every heresy, every secret on Juno. The knowledge will be yours... as it once belonged to those who imprisoned me here.
<Vigilant_GM> A future, not distant, of Juno's collapse plays out before you.
<Baird> "Our choice was made the moment you assaulted us and impeded our duty....no the moment you were brought into existence foretold what choice would be made here." Baird raises his arm and fires a silver stake at the creature.
* Almarax drops the Purgatus crossbow to the ground where it can be useful to his party before steeling himself to charge into the fray.
* Karpath moving quickly to heal himself, he is able to successfully stabilize his condition.
<Vigilant_GM> Suddenly focusing its energies in time-altering ways, Karpath's actions are mind-jarringly shifted along time itself.
* Almarax begins to twitch his mechandrites moving unnaturally as he enters a battle trance.
<Almarax> "Your abominable form shall be broken asunder!"
* Thesse moves up towards the creature.
* Davos casts telekine dome and smites the creature.
* Velam scrambles backwards and sprints for his life to the rest of the group. Knees to chest, Velam. Knees to chest.
* Baird supplements his flurry of silver stakes with a ball of superheated plasma in an attempt to drive the creature back.
<Vigilant_GM> Charging forwards, the apparition strikes at Sister Thesse.
* Karpath draws up his Storm Bolter and takes aim at the creature, he fires all eight shots but only the sound of the round firing are seen and no bullet exit the gun as if they were never there.
* Thesse pummels the being with her hammer and shield.
* Almarax charges the creature but it parries his attack effortlessly.
* Davos casts smite against the creature, but somehow the smite misses.
* Velam tries his best to fire at the....thing. Alas, melee is not something you should be shooting into. And he hits Sister Thesse, thankfully the Emperor protects.
* Thesse glares back at Velam with a look of anger and confusion.
<Velam> "Sorry..."
* Baird waits for his plasma pistol to cooldown from the overcharged blast and draws his bolt pistols to continue his onslaught.
* Almarax is about to strike the creature with his manipulator claw but his mind clouds.
<Vigilant_GM> The released*0 entity swings at Almarax, both striking him and not, as though cause and effect's resolution lingering in the web of time.
* Karpath fires on semi auto this time but the same thing happens again.
* Almarax unleashes a flurry of blows upon the creature causing significant damage to the beast.
* Thesse tries to attack the creature, but the attacks miss it.
* Davos smites the creature to no affect.
* Velam starts to recite the canticles of plasma maintainence as he ejects the spent plasma flask and begins reloading it.
<Vigilant_GM> The cruel manipulation of time at last resolves the lingering attack against Almarax, staff striking with the force of the unnatural energies swirling around your opponent.
<Vigilant_GM> A white flame of pure white, trailing blue, begins to surround the Oracle in a tall swirl of energy.
<Karpath> Before firing his Storm Bolter on semi auto, Karpath recites the Litany of Accuracy, "Grant me the sight of the eagle, the calm of the breeze, the patience of a saint and the skill to smite the foe from afar." As he does so four shot ring out from his gun, this time all four shot fly out and hit the creature.
<Vigilant_GM> With blinding spite, the swirling energies return the attack with a fast clap of energy.
<Vigilant_GM> The overwhelming energies work their way with hideous effect through Karpath's body. The sight is as though he were being electrocuted.
* Karpath the pain returns to him, he is in a state close to where he was before.
* Almarax continues to wail on the creature, although there is no visible response from Almarax those watching notice blood flowing from his eyes ears nose and mouth.
* Thesse was able to hit the daemon with her Thunder Hammer. However, a blinding light of energy crawls onto her weapon. It travels to thru the hammer into her body, causing great pain. Her souls feels like it is burning.
* Davos screams at the daemons requesting that the emperor strip the creature of it's powers.
<Davos> "IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR BEGONE!!!!"
<Vigilant_GM> In an unquestionable sign of the Emperor's favor, Davos' concentrated assault of sheer willpower breaks the Oracle's concentration, fading its protective flames.
<Velam> The savant finishes loading the new plasma flask into his weapon, finishing reciting the last of the words before grasping it in two hands and firing a new bolt of plasma at the thing in the distance.
<Vigilant_GM> The bright bolt of plasma, however, shimmers out of existence not beyond a meter after exiting the pistol.
<Velam> "What in the-"
* Baird continues the fusillade when a silver stake pierces through one of it's unnatural eyes.
<Vigilant_GM> The purity of faith concentrated on the blessed stake carries the Emperor's wrath through the daemonic warding, and Baird is His instrument. The shrill, high-pitched shrieking that follows pierces your ears in a deafening tone.
<Vigilant_GM> The purity of the white light protecting it corrupts, decaying into a sickly violet hue until its very existence is degraded to an ethereal cloud of warp dissipating energies.
<Karpath> As he is in pain grasping his chest because of the pain, he is able to catch Baird killing the demonic creature. A smile crosses his face, the storm bolter drops from his had as he tries to rest for the moment, even with the pain and the deafening noise.
<Baird> "We have faced down a beast from the depths of the warp and through the grace of the Emperor we have triumphed! Enjoy this, for today the might of mankind has stood against the darkness! Now, bind your wounds and prepare yourselves, we have yet to finish our work here.
<Almarax> Healing circle jerk ensues.
<Davos> "Thank the emperor the creature is gone."
* Karpath just moans as as a response.
* Almarax puts his weight onto his hammer, blood dripping from his face.
<Velam> The savant puts his limited healing abilities to work with Karpath being down and out for now. He patches up Almarax and Thesse with some assistance from Davos.
<Thesse> "Fool Daemon. We have banished it with the Emperor's Holy Fury."
<Almarax> "...The entrance we used is closed."
<Davos> "The deamon was a creature of Tzeentch and it's forbiden knowledge has been banished."
* Karpath response to Almarax, "No shit..." as he moans in pain.
* Almarax approaches the console to see if the door can be reopened easily.
