  9. Michael M Yazdani
  10. i honestly think that should disqualify them from leading the pride parade
  11. now their movement isn't about pride, its supremacy
  12. Eric Rogers
  13. 6:16pm
  14. Eric Rogers
  15. It was a horrible choice of words for her to express her emotions.
  16. Michael M Yazdani
  17. 6:17pm
  18. Michael M Yazdani
  19. if she's a leader, she needs to watch what she says
  20. on an unrelated note: the triple hit mix popcorn (caramel corn, chocolate, and mini pretzels) is on point
  21. Eric Rogers
  22. 6:18pm
  23. Eric Rogers
  24. She really does. I agree. I will never understand the anger and emotions of experiencing anti-black racism and will never claim to know that, but, words that express the death of others is just not acceptable.
  25. I get something like from Bulk Barn.
  26. Nomnom
  27. Michael M Yazdani
  28. 6:18pm
  29. Michael M Yazdani
  30. i got it there tongue emoticon
  31. Eric Rogers

  41. 6:19pm
  42. Eric Rogers
  43. I also really like their peanut butter drizzled popcorn
  44. Michael M Yazdani
  45. 6:19pm

  47. ($1.15/100g!)
  48. but i ended up gett those two, chocolate covered coffee beans, and some matcha powder
  49. Eric Rogers
  50. 6:25pm
  51. Eric Rogers
  52. Love those coffee beans as well
  53. Michael M Yazdani
  54. 6:26pm
  55. Michael M Yazdani
  56. grin emoticon
  57. but yeah
  58. TBH, i never thought BLM fit in with the message of Pride
  59. there are parallels in the struggles, but historically, and presently, black people are some of the more prominent homophobic oppressors
  60. Eric Rogers
  61. 6:28pm
  62. Eric Rogers
  63. And that's why we need BLMTO. Because of generalizations like the one you just made tongue emoticon
  64. I think the choice of having BLMTO with Pride is to show solidarity among groups who tend to experience widespread discrimination/
  65. Michael M Yazdani
  66. 6:29pm
  67. Michael M Yazdani
  68. im not saying all black people are bad, and im not saying that black people are not persecuted
  69. carding is still a thing and im strongly against it
  70. im just worried about some of the more...vocal members of BLM and how they might treat the more flamboyant people in the parade
  71. can you see that viewpoint?
  72. Eric Rogers
  73. 6:31pm
  74. Eric Rogers
  75. No, I think it's racist.
  76. Like that is blatantly racist.
  77. LOL
  78. "Because black people tend to be more homophobic than others, I am scared they will discriminate against gay people during pride"
  79. Michael M Yazdani
  80. 6:33pm
  81. Michael M Yazdani
  82. im basing it purely on statistics
  83. its anecdotal, but am i not allowed to have opinions based on my experiences?
  84. Eric Rogers
  85. 6:35pm
  86. Eric Rogers
  87. Race is a social construction, there is no biological predisposition that makes black people more homophobic than any other race/culture
  88. And based on that logic Michael, I can now say people of your race, are inherently racist. BECAUSE I EXPERIENCED YOU BEING RACIST.
  89. Michael M Yazdani
  90. 6:36pm
  91. Michael M Yazdani
  92. there is no biological basis, yes
  93. but im not talking about one or a few
  94. (and i will agree that many persians are racist, but thats besides the point)
  95. Eric Rogers
  96. 6:36pm
  97. Eric Rogers
  98. Just because you experience homophobia from lets say, 2 - 5 black people, or 20 black people for the matter, does give you the privilege to label a WHOLE RACE (millions if not billions) of people of being more homophobic than other.
  99. That will never hold up in any argument EVER in the world LOL
  100. Michael M Yazdani
  101. 6:36pm
  102. Michael M Yazdani
  103. im not talking 20 black people
  104. im comparing all the black people i know with all the other people i know (school, community, family friends, etc) and comparing incidence of homophobic comments/behaviour
  105. Eric Rogers
  106. 6:39pm
  107. Eric Rogers
  108. SO by the few people you know (in a more rural setting where homophobia is more apparent) you can say, with 100% that people of certain races are more homophobic than others?
  109. I think what you should be saying "People who grow up in a culture of homophobia, are more likely to be homophobic"
  110. Race has NOTHING to do with this.
  111. Michael M Yazdani
  112. 6:39pm
  113. Michael M Yazdani
  114. due to cultural norms? yes
  115. and pickering is in no way rural
  116. south of Finch
  117. Eric Rogers
  118. 6:40pm
  119. Eric Rogers
  120. Henny, compared to the city, it might as well be rural.
  121. Michael M Yazdani
  122. 6:40pm
  123. Michael M Yazdani
  124. its majorly suburban with urban areas
  125. Eric Rogers
  126. 6:41pm
  127. Eric Rogers
  128. Besides, why aren't you generalizing white people? Look at trump and all of his followers. By your logic I should now say "White people should be in pride because, based on anecdotal experiences, they are racist, homophobic, and misogynists.
  129. Look at Rob Ford and his followers.
  130. Sorry, but your logic is flawed and racist.
  131. Just because you're entitled to your opinion, doesn't make it right.
  132. Michael M Yazdani
  133. 6:42pm
  134. Michael M Yazdani
  135. what if you look outside of a caucasian-majority country
  136. and at countries /in/ africa
  137. yes, homophobia was intoduced by caucasian intruders, but they have held on to it and amplified it much more than any other area on the globe
  138. take Uganda
  139. Eric Rogers
  140. 6:44pm
  141. Eric Rogers
  142. Ok, so now you are saying "Uganda, majority of people are black. They are really homophobic, therefore, black people in Canada must be the same"
  143. Michael, homophobia is learned.
  144. It's not natural.
  145. You just said white people introduced it, so blame white ancestors, not black people.
  146. Michael M Yazdani
  147. 6:45pm
  148. Michael M Yazdani
  149. most caucasian cultures have majorly reduced homophobic sentiment
  150. Eric Rogers
  151. 6:45pm
  152. Eric Rogers
  153. Like I said, race has nothing to do with this.
  154. All my experiences of homophobia come from white people.
  155. I'm not about to say all white people are homophobic or tend to be more homophobic.
  156. Everyone has different lived experiences with homophobia .
  157. I'm also going to end this conversation here because it really isn't going anywhere. I don't want to entertain ignorance or racism.
