- Neutral Killing Removal (OPTIONAL)
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- • It should be noted that the below change is optional, but recommended nonetheless.
- Reasons for removing Neutral Killing from Ranked:
- - Has far too much control over which main faction wins the game, and because of this, both main factions (Mafia/Town) are punished or rewarded heavily based upon something entirely outside of their own control.
- - It's main reason for existence is to speed up the game, contrary to it's goal. The speed of the game can be controlled just as easily by reducing the amount of role slots, without unnecessary unbalance due to Neutral Killing's existence. The fact that it exists solely to cater to a mechanic (speed of the game) when it can just as easily be solved in other ways is bad in itself.
- - It usually benefits one of the other factions more so than itself, contrary to it's goal, since helping another faction more than itself in turn means reducing it's own chances of winning.
- - In earlier nights (and even later nights), Neutral Killing's kills are mainly based upon randomness, which is an issue when you are a killing role that can kill either of the two main factions (and therefore can heavily control their win chances).
- - Many of the instances where Mafia currently wins is due to the Neutral Killing not attacking Mafia the entire game, which means Mafia winning is based largely upon Neutral Killing's kills, something largely outside of Mafia's control. Something along similar lines could also be said for the Town, though perhaps to a lesser extent.
- - Neutral Killing relies on Town and Mafia keeping almost perfect balance in numbers near the end to win, which is extremely difficult to control, making it too difficult to achieve it's goal.
- - Almost everyone in the game (except Neutral Evil) is against Neutral Killing, meaning Neutral Killing has far too many night and day threats. Neutral Killing has too many hardcounters at night and too many people wanting them to die in the day to have consistent survivability, again, making it too hard to achieve it's goal.
- - The existence of Neutral Killing allows Neutral Evil to become a kingmaker (between Neutral Killing and Mafia), given there are no suitable changes to prevent Neutral Evil from doing this.
