Ascension

You are Ronald, a soldier trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world by scavenging among the ruins of what is left. You have a automatic rifle and a grenade. You have lived in this military bunker since the bombs went off. You wake up and report for duty to your commanding officer and you're given orders on where you need to go, but you’re not sure if you’ll be able to do it.

It's too dangerous, the zombies will get there first, then they will attack the rest of your team.

You don't know how long you’ve been asleep, but you hear the sounds of battle outside, and you know that the infected are coming soon!

Your automatic rifle fires bullets at the approaching horde of undead, which are quickly swarming around your position. It's all so close now that you can feel them biting at your flesh.

> fall back

You're surrounded, and the only way out is to run away from this place, but the zombies aren’t going to let you leave alive! They begin to surround you and bite into your flesh as well.

> blow up grenade

With a loud explosion, the nearby door explodes open, sending shrapnel flying in all directions. The shrapnel hits one of the infected on top of you, causing it to fall off of you and onto its back.

The other two infected on top of you begin to scream in pain as they are torn apart by the other soldiers who have also come out to fight the zombies. One of them falls off onto its back as well and begins to bleed out from its mouth.

You run as fast as you can, dodging bullets and gunfire in the process, but it's too late for the rest of your team, who were killed along with you.

You're still alive, but you’re in no condition to fight anymore. Your lungs are filled with a thick black smoke that is slowly killing you.

As you lie dying in a pool of your own blood and gore, you feel a surge in strength and power that allows you to stand up and take a few steps forward before collapsing again.

You struggle to get up, but the smoke is choking the life out of your lungs and the strength is leaving your body. As much as it hurts to move, it's better than dying here like this.

> be determined to live

You've been through worse than this, you’ll survive this! As you attempt to stand, the pain intensifies and you collapse once more.

Your screams are heard by the rest of the squad, who are now on their knees trying desperately not to be eaten by the infected that have now overrun the area.

The sound of your screams causes a horde of zombies to come running towards you, which then begin eating you alive.

Your eyes roll into the back of your head and all that's left is a mindless husk that can’t even move on it’s own accord anymore.

As the last of the squad dies around you, you're left alone in the wasteland, surrounded by dead bodies and surrounded by other dead bodies.

> find living bodies

You've survived for so long, it’s amazing to think that you’ve never really had any real friends or family, let alone any real friends or family at all!

> search for humans

You look around for anything edible, but there's nothing but the dead and rotting flesh around you. It’s time to make a new start, but first you need to find some humans to eat.

After a few hours of searching you come across a group of people huddled together eating a human corpse.

You grab one and devour it, before grabbing another and devouring it as well.

After about an hour you're finding human flesh to be quite tasty, and you’re finding the whole process quite enjoyable as well.

Suddenly you feel like you're in the middle of the ocean, and your hunger is gone, but your hunger for humans hasn’t gone away!

You begin to feel very hungry, and you begin to feel like you're going to vomit at anytime now. Your stomach is empty, your mind is empty, your body is empty…but your hunger remains!

> eat humans

Your stomach begins to rumble with the desire to consume more meat. The next thing that happens is that the voices in your head cease completely. All that's left are the instincts of a predator.

Your eyes widen in surprise as you see a group of people walking towards you from the direction of the road, they're not far off though and they’re getting closer by the second.

The group of four walk up to you, and you immediately lunge forward for the nearest person in the group, grabbing him by the throat and tearing his head clean off his shoulders, then you rip his throat out with ease as he struggles to breathe in his own blood.

You keep eating, but you can't stop yourself from thinking about what’s happening to them, so you stop yourself from doing it too much, instead you start thinking about what’s happening to yourself…and it doesn’t take long before you start feeling a little

You can't believe how much this has changed you! Your skin feels softer and smoother than it ever has before. Your hair has grown back, but it’s not the same as when it was in its natural state.

You don't know why, but suddenly your mind starts to expand. It’s almost like a thought bubble that’s growing inside of your skull. It’s so bright and colourful and colourful and bright and colourful. It feels so good.

It's a little difficult to control, but eventually you manage to make the wings appear on your back. They’re a little weak at first, but soon they’re strong enough to fly off into the sky with you.

It's a strange sensation, but you soon find that you can control the direction of where you’re flying in relation to where you’ve been flying before.

You've become an animal, a bird of prey, a predator! The world is your prey now! You feel the urge to feast on the entire village, and your hunger is only increased by the fact that there are no humans around to help you.

You begin to hunt down the villagers, and the more you kill, the more powerful your new abilities are. Soon, you've killed every single one of them.

Your hunger is sated and your powers are strong enough that they've completely taken over your mind. There’s nothing left of your human mind left anymore. All that’s left is pure animalistic instinct and desire for blood.

The next day, you've completely forgotten all about the massacre that happened yesterday, and you’ve been living as a beast for the past few days. The only thing that’s keeping you going is the hunger, which is still very strong in spite of everything else.

> search for more prey

As the days pass, you continue to hunt down the villagers, until finally you've killed them all and eaten their flesh.

You've managed to turn yourself into a zombie, and you’ve managed to survive in the wild for quite some time now, but it isn’t without its problems… THE END
