  3. In short; cool item for their own enjoyment but no one they care about is going to care. As for investment; unless the game somehow gains WAY more popularity and you paid around 800k, no one is going to be there to make it worth your investment as they would have to spend an amount that has never been close to being spent at once on skins. You could make way much more profit faster by trading or investing in other things.

  5. As a collector's item, yeah it's cool to have but who would care? For their own enjoyment of the skin it would make sense but no one else would care more than just thinking once, "wow that's pretty cool." Or, "Oh yeah that one steam profile has that skin." No one actually cares about the person who owns it unless they're a popular streamer or content creator, does anyone here know about the Chinese guys who made that 780k trade? Or think about them regularly or see them flexing their skins? Imagine if there was a one of a kind 800k Dota item that I had, would you care then? It's like people who have art from ancient Chinese dynasties, how often do people think about them just because they have stuff they spent a ton of money on? If they wanted it for their own enjoyment that would be fine, but no one outside of the cs community would care at all. And I would hope the friends of the person who would buy it aren't mostly in the cs community, that would just mean they're really lonely. There's a ton of rich people, but not a lot of people who have hundreds of thousands in skins because they don't care about them in the slightest.

  7. Somewhat in summary; even if you had an unthinkable amount of money and 800k was nothing to you, you're either seeking personal satisfaction out of having it or social acknowledgment (for lack of a better term). If for your own personal satisfaction, you just bought a bunch of pixels instead of a share in a company, property, even something weird like an esports team. If you decided to get more enjoyment out of a karambit than anything else that costs 800k, even if that's not a lot to you, you've got a problem (just my opinion... and the opinion of anyone else who has the slightest bit of normality). And if you have it in the hopes to become more popular or well known, no one is actually going to care about you. People just see old blue knife and return to monke.

  9. As for investing; yeah the guy who bought it in 2016 for 100k could sell it and make profit, but what about anyone else who wants to buy it for investing now? The biggest trade so far was 2 items for 780k with a 4x titan dlore and 661 AK CH. If someone were to pay around 800k, they would have to spend more than anyone else in the history of skins has ever paid in a single transaction so far let alone a single item. Most people with that amount of money realize it's more desirable to have money and influence in the real world rather than a csgo item, so they would be stupid not to invest everything they want to in crypto, stocks, housing market (800k usd isn't even enough for a really bad home where I live anymore, housing market has been a great investment recently), maybe even NFTs (guaranteed flop, just you wait). And after that, there would have to be someone else who pays even more than that, and anyone who has that amount of money to spend and wants to on skins probably understands markets and the fact that the game/steam profile it's locked to has just dipped to a low in popularity it hasn't had since 2 years ago, so there isn't going to be an increase in investors and collectors as much there has been in the past meaning that it's even less likely that someone else is going to buy it from you in the future. It's a cool thing to have, but for now no one else is going to pay more than anyone has ever paid in the history of skins for investing because no one would ever make profit off of it if they paid that much.

  11. Even if you had the money to throw away, you would have to have mental problems to spend it on a karambit instead of bettering yourself, your finances, or spending it on dying communities in third world countries, helping to stop human trafficking rings, etc. But hey, spend your rubles how you want.
