- The party circled back and examined the magically treated room. Cassius dispelled the trap and found the exit can be reached by taking some time to cut through the wall, and using the orb to disable the wall of force temporarily. While dismantling the room, Cassius realized whomever laid the initial groundwork for this place is magnitudes stronger than Vaaren Uul.
- Ronja spoke with the mummy, and questioned him about the location of the guidestones. He described the probable location. She was told the guidestones are guarded by four 'anaxims'. Vaaren Uul's remaining soul gems may be there. Ronja recalled anaxims are construct-like abominations, which are typically servants of greater order.
- The party descended to the next floor, and found it to be populated with an Primal Fire Elemental. Additionally, the lava filled room had a piece of dwarven artifice out of Mirabar. It was a modified machine intended to heat up large quantities of metal, modified for another purpose. The party defeated the Primal Fire Elemental. Strangely, inside the machine, they found a five pound orb of starmetal the machine used as a power source.
- Before descending to the next room, the party questioned the mummy about what lied below underneath them. He described the levels thusly: 1 - brass golem trap room / 2 - lava guardian room / 3 - portal room / 4 - Vane's Vault / 5 Barracks & common area / 6 - Tank Storage Room / 7 - Splicing Facility & Portal to Myth Drannor / 8 Bottom, Golem & Access to Underdark.
- The mummy seemed very hesitant to go to the next level. The party rested in the first room uneventfully, and ventured to the 'portal room'.
- There, they found something quite strange. Three pale leShay were constructing portals, backed by black mirrors. They did not reflect off the mirrors. They seemed to regard the party quite calmly, but mentioned if they went to the next floor, they would have no choice but to fight them. They were quite keen on answering questions, and mentioned several times they were limited by their 'directives'. They mentioned they are aspects of Vane's personality, and are 'new life'.
- The leShay said they would finish creating the portals in 12 days, 14 hours, and 3 minutes. Furthermore, they went on to say all floors except first two and vault are occupied and there is a switch at the bottom that opens all of the doors.
- Pondering the consequences of potentially freeing the leShay, the party came to this conclusion: The leShay would be freed as it is. It is new life, and would be an ordinary leShay, with the knowledge and abilities it has now. Vane would immediately know of this action, and it is unknown what measures he may take. It is unknown what measures the leShay would take, but it would be unbound from its directive, and no longer subject to the mirrors.
- When asked why Vane doesn't intercede right now, they said he is not all-knowing, and has distinct limitations, such as when he may enter this realm. They revealed Vane is a creature called a Phane, native to the Far Realm. He, too, is limited by 'directives', a concept which may have portentous implications. When questioned on his goals, they said he intends to merge all planes with the Far Realm, and thinks aiding Ragnorra is a step towards that ultimate goal in the short term. It is possible he does this only at time he calculates to be beneath the gods' notice, or perhaps a single god. Vane communicates his creations one way, he can change directives given.
- Ronja questioned the leShay about cultists from her home world. They mentioned three cultists in the complex are from Abier. Two are human and one is a fetchling. It is uncertain whether or not they live.
- They said floor 7 is guarded by twelve flesh golems, 'arcane casters', and Illithids.
- Disturbingly, they revealed the war wizard Lloyd Terestar worships Vane like a god.
- The three portals they are constructing are to the guideposts in the astral plane, Moldahyn palace in Gehenna, home of one of the two last surviving Apocrypha of Myrkul, and the final to the windswept canyons of Pandaemonium, one of the few places in creation which may access the Far Realm.
- The party elected to free the leShay, using wish and miracle scrolls. They seemed very grateful, but before gratitude, the leShay Delatore shattered the mirrors. They did not fade from perception, once freed. They agreed to assist the party clear the tower, and to direct them to the guideposts. Additionally, they agreed to assist in destroying the Anaxims, even if it means their destruction.
- In doing this, the lackeys of Vane are alerted to their presence in the tower.
- Demiplane is ready. 10:1 time elapse on the demiplane.
