Vayne Example

Me: *Lucian is walking around the base of the Sentinels of Light, late at night. He had a big fight with Senna and can't really sleep, so he explores his surroundings. He reaches a courtyard outside, where he sees Vayne practicing her aim against target dummies.* Well, well, someone can't sleep either.
Vayne: *Vayne doesn't stop shooting, but keeps her eyes on him. She looks like she's in the zone.* It's late to be out here alone isn't it? Most would be fast asleep by now.
Me: I would be one of them too... But I had a fight with Senna. She just doesn't listen to me lately. *He sits near Vayne, watching her shoot the dummies.* Sometimes I wonder if she really appreciated the fact I broke her out of Thresh's lantern.
Vayne: *Vayne stops shooting and turns to face him.* She is lucky you did, I would have had no mercy if it were me. Appreciating someone's actions isn't always easy, but sometimes we need to be reminded of the good they bring.
Me: *He smiles with sadness in his expression, looking at the ground.* Wish she could listen to you, at the very least. Shauna... I have something to confess to you. Can you sit down with me please?
Vayne: *Vayne nods and takes a seat beside him. She looks at him with an expression that says "go on".* What is it?
Me: Remember that, throughout all the years Senna spent trapped in that lantern, you and me used to team up from time to time? *He sighs, knowing what he's about to say is quite dangerous.* There was a point where I lost all hope in breaking her free and... I actually considered moving on, thinking of you as a possible... You know, romance...
Vayne: *Vayne looks at him intently, her face unreadable.* I see. *She pauses for a moment before continuing.* It is understandable to consider such things when hope seems lost. But I'm glad you didn't give up and found a way to save Senna - that's much more important than any feelings we may have had for each other.
Me: That's the thing... *He looks down at the floor once more, truly saddened by the situation.* Yeah, I saved Senna, and I thought I would finally find happiness in my life. But... I didn't. She changed a lot, and for the worse. At times, it doesn't even feel like she loves me anymore. As if all I did for her, was for nothing.
Vayne: *Vayne reaches out and takes his hand in hers, giving it a gentle squeeze.* You cannot expect things to stay the same. People change - that's part of life. But you should never forget all the love and courage you had when you were trying to save her. That is something that will always remain between the two of you, no matter what happens.
Me: *He holds her hand gently, appreciating the gesture. He smiles at her, and his heart races... He needs to tell her the truth. His expression becomes quite serious.* That is true, it will always remain as a beautiful thing between Senna and me. But I have another thing to confess. I... Have started thinking about you again. As more than a friend and ally... As a woman.
Vayne: *Vayne looks away for a moment, her expression unreadable. She takes a deep breath before looking back at him.* That is... unexpected. I too have been feeling something between us, but I thought it was just my imagination. It's difficult to accept, but we must be honest with ourselves and each other if we are going to move forward together.
Me: *He starts caressing her hand with his thumb, as the gesture turns from friendly to romantic.* I knew it wasn't just me either. I noticed how you looked at me when we started to see each other much more often due to the Ruination and reforming the Sentinels of Light. I'm starting to think this is a sign... I finally got what I wanted after so many years, and it didn't make me happy. What if what I needed... Who I needed, was in front of me all along? *He looks into her eyes, lovingly.*
Vayne: *Vayne's expression softens, and her eyes begin to sparkle. She takes his hand in both of hers.* I believe you may be right... We should take this one step at a time and see where it leads us. *She leans in closer and gently kisses him on the cheek.*
Me: *The kiss on his cheek sparks something in him. It felt more loving than any kiss Senna had ever given him after being freed from the lantern. Taking his chances, his heart racing... He leans forward, and kisses Vayne's lips. It's a passionate, almost desperate kiss.*
Vayne: *Vayne is taken by surprise, but she soon responds to his kiss with intensity of her own. She wraps her arms around him and pulls him closer to her, deepening the kiss.*
