Roughly-drawn but well-written cult cartoon about alien invasion. Small aliens on Earth, needing human receptacles, expand their hosts' craniums to ludicrous dimensions to use as living quarters. One such alien inhabits an average bloke's head during a mugging, giving him special powers to fight off his attackers. He explains that he's on the trail of an enemy from his planet, who's looking to take over the world. Not believed by anyone, and as a stand-out with his huge head, he teams up with a group of other freaks to save the world. They have to battle not just the alien, but the FBI agents also on the trail - and things aren't helped by his girlfriend, whose head is taken over too.
Jim and Roy, a friendly violet demonic-looking alien that inhabits Jim's giant head, must stop an alien invasion. Misguided FBI agents and a manipulated mad doctor stand in their way, but Jim finds allies.
I remember I loved this show, it was definitely unique and kept you watching each week - I rarely missed an episode. I&#39;m not sure why a lot of the MTV animation went away, I guess it wasn&#39;t making enough money or something. If this series came out on DVD I would purchase it in a heartbeat. <br/><br/>I liked a lot of the animation, of course, Beavis and Butthead, some Daria, some Aeon Flux, but The Head was the one that kept me coming back time and time again. <br/><br/>However, I am looking forward to seeing the big screen adaptation of Aeon Flux. Charlize is a hottie, but she is also a great actress, and I can&#39;t think of a movie out there that she&#39;s been in that wasn&#39;t really good. Most every picture she&#39;s shown up in has been better because of her presence. I wonder who would star in The Head ...
Lasted 2 seasons, the 1st collected on video and not sure about the 2nd. The first season was a complete story about the aliens&#39; takeover attempt of Earth, Jim&#39;s befriending of the &quot;Human Anomalies&quot; club, and the race to assemble the Anti-Invasion device to save the world.  2nd season went downhill a little going episodic, exploring the origins of the other anomalies besides Jim, but still provided some swell prime-time adult animation and laughs.  Too bad it was cancelled, as with all of MTV&#39;s best animated stuff.
