  1. [13:57] Riley stepped into the Deep Mines, his confident demeanour bolstered by the blistering, translucent energy that surged out from his frame. As though a torch in the darkness, Riley Howard entered the chamber of Adremmelach the Corruptor, the supposed overlord of the mines.
  2.
  3. The youth confidently stepped forth, only to be met by a gut-wrenching roar from the demon as it charged. Riley stepped forth, entering a close-quarters match with the creature. His rippling muscles contracted, unleashing strike after strike, accompanied by ground-shaking blasts of energy and beams of pure mana.
  4.
  5. In a matter of minutes, the beast lay slain beneath Riley, its form covered in a dense myriad of wounds. However, he'd been nicked by the monsters blade, leaving a large cut on his right-side. Whatever, he'd approach at that time, raising an accusatory finger to Agnimazud.
  6.
  7. "Ho ho, I didn't think I'd see you again. Young woman, get away from him - he attacked awoman, ripped her arm off, injured an exarch and kidnapped that woman. He's bad news."
  8.
  9. The aura around Riley flared in that moment, emanating an intent that was rather. .
  10.
  11. Menacing.
  12. (Riley Howard)
  13.
  14. [13:58] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "You know, it's funny. I don't seem to recall you ever getting context for why we were fighting."
  15. [13:58] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "But, people do so love to be heroes. Coming in to save the day, regardless of such."
  16. [13:59] Riley Howard says, "Right, for I'm sure you were just in your reasons to rip a young woman's arm off."
  17. [13:59] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "Ah, yes. That woman could not have possibly initiated a fight with myself."
  18. [14:00] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "Thankfully, we have people such as yourself to throw yourself in the fray and save any damsel in distress."
  19. [14:00] Riley Howard says, "Then you defeat her, and leave. You don't rip off a limb, kidnap her and proceed to injure an Exarch."
  20. [14:00] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "If the Exarch didn't want to be injured, he shouldn't have interfered."
  21. [14:00] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "People who mind their business are much better off than those who do not."
  22. [14:00] Riley Howard says, "Ah, well, I'll say now - you're the one who'll be injured in this exchange."
  23. [14:00] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "That's rather amusing."
  24. [14:00] Riley Howard says, "I'm many times stronger than that Exarch."
  25. [14:00] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "And yet you'll suffer the same fate."
  26. [14:01] It'd been from afar that she barely sees another's encounter with the beast, just out of peripherals. She'd been hallucinating- perhaps an oddity of demons fighting the next.
  27.
  28. However, as Riley approaches the girl turns towards him and quirks a brow at the claim he's made. The girl only steps away from the masked individual's space if only to wander closer to Riley's own..
  29.
  30. She clearly doesn't have time to speak throughout their conversation. Instead, she just... listens.
  31. (Astrid)
  32.
  33. [14:06] Astrid idly spectates the situation ongoing, allowing the tendrils of water to continue curling close by her person as a defensive mechanism despite their nature in typically dwindling defensives in the meanwhile.
  34. (Astrid)
  35.
  36. [14:14] Agnimazud narrows his eyes under his hood, shaking his head. "That's the problem with people like you and the Exarch. It is also the reason why the Syndicate exists--to correct such problems."
  37.
  38. As the Drakanite starts to speak, mana swells inside of his body, building up at Agni's very core and compacting so densely until it can't be contained, erupting every which way around him. A flash of light briefly encapsulates his form, and when it fades it reveals Agnimazud again, but with a pair of large, dark brown, scaled wings, with a tail to match. Twin ivory horns protruding from his forehead through the fabric of his hood complete all the effects of the transformation.
  39.
  40. Agni's lime-green eyes shine through the shadows cast by his hood, his serpentine iris' and pupil fixated on one thing, and one thing only. Riley. His cloak parts open at both sides, his left hand, wielding a blood-red dagger drenched in Occult energy, reaching out and hovering idle at his left side. Agnimazud's feet slide along the decayed earth beneath them, distancing while he hunches into a combat stance.
  41.
  42. "But, if you really wish to put yourself through the same fate as the Exarch, then so be it."
  43. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  44.
  45. [14:20] She never did it out of the kindness of her heart. Never. No, it was for the faintest bit of entertainment to watch two opposing one another battle it out. The amusement in her features towards the ordeal here could be an indication of that, however.
  46.
  47. As those tendrils lash forward towards Riley to pierce his flesh without warning and immediately get to work at cleansing the interior and exterior of the damage itself, the Kitsune allows the focus of control to suture the wound together and slowly but surely reverse the damage that lay there.
  48.
  49. It would only be a matter of time before it entirely healed. "No need to thank me- payment is enough," she casually states. "Give me an entertaining fight though at the very least or I'll make you pay double." Astrid's gave trails up from her own inflictions to take view of Riley's presently healing ones.
  50.
  51. An amused grin takes to those features of hers as well.
  52. (Astrid)
  53.
  54. [14:25] Riley's immediate reaction to the tendrils, naturally, was to gather a dense layer of mana around his arm, condensing it inwards into a glittering, searing ball of pure-white energy, directed towards the woman. However, mere moments before he went to unleash the attack, Astrid's tendrils dispersed her mana throughout his wound, cleansing and closing it in a few moments.
  55.
  56. He'd chortle and offer the girl a nod, pivoting on his heels to face Agnimazud, the confidence in his expression surging forth. "Good, girl! You can see the Thunderbird Company for your reward, ho ho! Just tell them that Riley sent you."
  57.
  58. With that, no more words were exchanged. Agnimazud had proved time and time again to be someone of ill-intent, as his position in the Syndicate was blurted out for all to hear. He rushed forth, leaving behind a crater in his wake as he careened through the air, bringing a foot down upon his opponent.
  59. (Riley Howard)
  60.
  61. [14:35] Riley Howard says, "let's leave"
  62. [14:40] Riley demonstrated his worth as the Thunderbird's Guild Leader- no, their Thunderlord! Even in the chamber of the Corruptor, his majesty was unrivalled. Riley's aura surged outwards, filling a majority of the room in something of an invisible pressure. He didn't often go all-out but, now, he was revealed to be drawing near the realms of an Exalted Magi, an existence that only one-percent of Magi reach in their lifetime!
  63.
  64. His foot whipped around Agnimazud's head, drawing the hooded figure to the ground, before unleashing a dense net of energy blasts, peppering his figure. While the Drakanite wasn't weak, by any stretch of the imagination, the proceeding fight was one-sided, with a clear victor at each turn.
  65.
  66. As the bout came to a close, he'd stand victorious over the hooded figure, who lay crumpled within a crater. At their level, even a casual attack could destroy a moderately-sized building.
  67.
  68. Riley huffed, visible smoke emitting from his mouth. "I don't want to kill you. Give up your ways." he warned, his tone of voice incredibly blunt. Riley wasn't a fan of killing, thus he'd rather his opponent escape and think about his actions, and possibly turn a new leaf. While it's not as though he could dictate the mans actions, it's unlikely he'd be as forgiving next time.
  69. (Riley Howard)
  70.
  71. [14:51] With Riley's wound healed and him being in tip-top shape, the difference in power levels proves to be too much for him to overcome. For one priding himself in how sturdy his body is and its longevity in fights, those defenses prove to be ineffective in the wake of energy magic constantly hurled and blasted his way. He could withstand the assault, however...
  72.
  73. His enemy had an immense amount of pressure. Spells that weren't individually powerful were fired out rapidly, and even with his daemonic gift of being able to directly steal Riley's life force and repair the injuries he was sustaining, it wasn't enough to weather the attack. Agnimazud found himself subdued--collapsed inside of a crater wrought from Riley's strength.
  74.
  75. The Drakanite was silent for a time as his body processed the pain wrung throughout it. It'd been a while since he felt a pain such as this. It was a feeling that'd become unfamiliar to him, and having it rear its ugly head again made him irate, to say the least. He wasn't angry at Riley, though. His own complacency was the target of his ire. Had he been more diligent, had pursued this pain and kept contact rather than forgoing it, this wouldn't be happening right now--to him, anyway. At the very least, it wouldn't, well... hurt.
  76.
  77. Physical agony was something Agnimazud was no stranger to, but the real wound here was to his own pride. Draconic wings finally start to twitch, the Occultist showing signs of movement after minutes of silence embedded in the crater. His wings draw as much strength as he can muster, whipping upon the ground while his elbows dig against the earth. Slowly, but surely, he managed himself onto his feet, blood spurting from the confines of the mask obscuring the lower half of his face when he enters a coughing fit.
  78.
  79. No response was given to the warning. Instead, those draconic wings spread, intent in launching Agni into a glide powerful enough to carry him back toward the Corrupter's den were he not stopped.
  80. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  81.
  82. [14:55] Riley settled a palm to his waist, rather flamboyantly I might add, as the winged figure launched himself deeper into the caverns. In response, Riley could only shake his head. He could only hope Agnimazud would take his words seriously, lest they come to blows once more.
  83.
  84. He'd turn, withdrawing the energy surging from his figure back in through his pores, drawing it back into his mana supply. Curious eyes lingered on the young women who'd decided to spectate his bout, primarily Astrid, who'd healed him. The girl was offered a curt nod as he pivoted on his heels. "Since you probably don't want to head to my guild, here."
  85.
  86. He'd produce a coin purse from his waist, passing the contents of which over to the white-haired woman before heading towards the nearby staircase, proceeding to make his ascent back to civilization.
  87. (Riley Howard)
