Kay Magic Powers

And Kay is like "I said nothing about swimming. Just hold your breath underwater for the next nine days like me." Because that was of course one of Kay’s magical powers that he sometimes had when the story remembered he had magical powers.
And Boy goes "ARE YOU INSANE!?  HUMANS CAN'T DO THAT!"
But Kay as already taken all their gear and jumped into the ocean, using his magic ability to keep anything he carries dry to protect it. Boy, being a normal person, sits his happy ass on the shore and waits.
