- Journal of Mar-Pana, entry 1.
- Well. Here I am, in Vvardenfell. It's nothing like the Black Marsh...no trees, no grass, no...anything. It's so bland, the Imperial buildings stretching into the sky, grey stone against grey clouds. I dislike Ebonheart.
- It's started to rain, I don't want this book-or my ingredients-to get wet.
- ENTRY 4
- The weather around here is insane. There are these duststorms, red dirt that gets in everywhere you didn't even know you had. I'll take the Marsh any day.
- Come to Vvardenfel, they said. Make your fortune, they said.
- I wish it was raining.
- ENTRY 6
- Pelagiad is a nice town, but there's not much demand for an alchemist. Lake Amaya is cold compared to the Marsh, but it's nowhere near as dangerous.
- Slaughterfish have interesting components; I'll have to do an autopsy and see what I can find.
- ENTRY 7
- >Stain on the page, it may or may not be blood
- I hate cliffracers.
- ENTRY 8
- Apparently the population of cliffracers have increased by several magnitudes in recent times. I'm going to have to find some more throwing knives for these mongrels of the sky.
- Entry 10
- This looks like a good a place as any to set up shop. A nice little Redoran town called Suran, near Lake Masobi and the Nabia River. There's already an apothecary here, but no alchemist. I've bought a tent and set up my gear by the waterfront. Now all I have to do is wait for customers.
- Entry 17
- My research has finally come to its conclusion-I know why people become ill after drinking my potions. Certain reagants from the Black Marsh are, in fact, poisonous to other races. I'll have to double-check what I assume, here.
- Entry 18
- I have aquired a willing test subject-a Khajiit by the name of M'Aiq. I have purchased a large stock of cure poison potions, and made a few of my own. He seems to know a great deal about many different subjects, including self-defense.
- Entry 21
- This morning, when I opened up my shop, I found a note on my bed and a book. The note read, "Rain comes from the sky. Sometimes sand does as well. Does this mean that the moon is shedding?" The book details a Khajiit martial art called 'Rawlith Kharj'. This is strange beyond words, but doesn't really matter-I've got my testing done, and he even left without payment.
- Entry 22
- That bastard took my hat. My only hat.
- Entry 45
- Some of the plantation owners-who own slaves-have been poking around the waterfront. I'm convinced they're waiting for a chance to get a new labourer.
- Me.
- Entry 46
- I may have caused a small stir. I did not anticipate the ferocity of this po-(The rest of this page is burned away.)
- Entry 47
- I believe I am at fault.
- Half of Suran, or just about, was partially on fire, yesterday, due to a particularly explosive concoction I was working on. The closely-packed houses caught fire suprisingly quickly, the firefighting teams unable to keep up until the mages with frost spells got here.
- I am now in debt.
- Entry 48
- I was assailed in my sleep, and only able to rescue my mortar and pestle, clothing, and a few personal items. Two men entered my shop, where I sleep, and attempted to capture me.
- Dunmer cannot breathe under water.
