  1. Journal of Mar-Pana, entry 1.
  2.
  3. Well. Here I am, in Vvardenfell. It's nothing like the Black Marsh...no trees, no grass, no...anything. It's so bland, the Imperial buildings stretching into the sky, grey stone against grey clouds. I dislike Ebonheart.
  4. It's started to rain, I don't want this book-or my ingredients-to get wet.
  5.
  6.
  7. ENTRY 4
  8. The weather around here is insane. There are these duststorms, red dirt that gets in everywhere you didn't even know you had. I'll take the Marsh any day.
  9. Come to Vvardenfel, they said. Make your fortune, they said.
  10. I wish it was raining.
  11.
  12. ENTRY 6
  13.
  14. Pelagiad is a nice town, but there's not much demand for an alchemist. Lake Amaya is cold compared to the Marsh, but it's nowhere near as dangerous.
  15. Slaughterfish have interesting components; I'll have to do an autopsy and see what I can find.
  16.
  17. ENTRY 7
  18. >Stain on the page, it may or may not be blood
  19. I hate cliffracers.
  20.
  21. ENTRY 8
  22. Apparently the population of cliffracers have increased by several magnitudes in recent times. I'm going to have to find some more throwing knives for these mongrels of the sky.
  23.
  24. Entry 10
  25. This looks like a good a place as any to set up shop. A nice little Redoran town called Suran, near Lake Masobi and the Nabia River. There's already an apothecary here, but no alchemist. I've bought a tent and set up my gear by the waterfront. Now all I have to do is wait for customers.
  26.
  27. Entry 17
  28. My research has finally come to its conclusion-I know why people become ill after drinking my potions. Certain reagants from the Black Marsh are, in fact, poisonous to other races. I'll have to double-check what I assume, here.
  29.
  30. Entry 18
  31. I have aquired a willing test subject-a Khajiit by the name of M'Aiq. I have purchased a large stock of cure poison potions, and made a few of my own. He seems to know a great deal about many different subjects, including self-defense.
  32.
  33. Entry 21
  34. This morning, when I opened up my shop, I found a note on my bed and a book. The note read, "Rain comes from the sky. Sometimes sand does as well. Does this mean that the moon is shedding?" The book details a Khajiit martial art called 'Rawlith Kharj'. This is strange beyond words, but doesn't really matter-I've got my testing done, and he even left without payment.
  35.
  36. Entry 22
  37. That bastard took my hat. My only hat.
  38.
  39. Entry 45
  40. Some of the plantation owners-who own slaves-have been poking around the waterfront. I'm convinced they're waiting for a chance to get a new labourer.
  41. Me.
  42.
  43. Entry 46
  44. I may have caused a small stir. I did not anticipate the ferocity of this po-(The rest of this page is burned away.)
  45.
  46. Entry 47
  47. I believe I am at fault.
  48. Half of Suran, or just about, was partially on fire, yesterday, due to a particularly explosive concoction I was working on. The closely-packed houses caught fire suprisingly quickly, the firefighting teams unable to keep up until the mages with frost spells got here.
  49. I am now in debt.
  50.
  51. Entry 48
  52. I was assailed in my sleep, and only able to rescue my mortar and pestle, clothing, and a few personal items. Two men entered my shop, where I sleep, and attempted to capture me.
  53. Dunmer cannot breathe under water.
