BACKGROUND;; Sofia Hernandez Park (or Park Sejeong) was born on May 18, 1997 in Yongin, South Korea, to a Korean mother and a 1/2 Korean, 1/2 Mexican-American father. She was the oldest of two siblings (she had two younger brothers, Sebastian and Samuel). When she was 4, she and her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. She developed a love for animals at a young age, and took great joy in caring for them. Unfortunately, Sofia was bullied a lot because of her mixed heritage and her looks. It made Sofia extremely insecure, and she developed a sarcastic, savage and somewhat cold personality to try and cover it up. Sofia didn't have many friends as she grew up and longed for someone other than family to truly love her for who she was. Her main comfort during this difficult time was working with animals. She regularly volunteered at animal shelters in Albuquerque, and it made her feel like she had a real purpose. Shortly after graduating high school, she moved back to Yongin and enrolled in Kyung Hee Cyber University, and began assisting at an animal shelter there.
