➣ BACKGROUND ── ; born and raised in seoul, despite her family's terrible financial situation and busy parents (who lacked not affection), SHIN JAEWON has always been the girl with the happy-go-lucky (and very loud) streak. reckless, mischievous, goofy, loud and not seeming to really mind how poor their family was, it was surprising for others to learn that she was the older sibling after her younger brother JAEHYUNG had been born 3 years after her, and it was strange for the older one to be so outgoing when instead she was supposed to be the mature one, and instead, JAEHYUNG was the more mature one (but just with a touch of childlike purity). especially since her family was poor, they expected her to be worried about it, yet it didn't seem to bother the girl and she honestly didn't mind being poor, as long as she was still happy, then that was that. the girl had always been quite the active person, often joining sport teams and enthusiastically join PE classes, and when her parents took her to the public pool for the first time, she IMMEDIATELY fell in love, as if she had been a swimmer in her past life. it was almost as if she had found her true calling, and from then on, she began joining swim teams at her school. but even then, she didn't take practices so seriously, as she never really took anything seriously. but in middle school, it was a car accident and not just one, but two trips to the doctors that changed everything. the car accident had been when the father of JAEWON's friends offered the two to drive them to school, only to end in a accident due to the icy roads, and there, she broke her shoulder. and when a visit to the doctor, JAEWON learned that she wouldn't be able to do other sports as they put too much pressure on her shoulder (but she can still be playful and active, just can't join sports that put tension on her shoulders like basketball), and that the only sport that she could still do was swimming, and JAEWON was okay with that. but what JAEWON was not okay with was the hospital bill, and another trip to the hospital only made it worse when her mother was diagnosed with alzheimer's. it was then that JAEWON finally woke up and realised what was happening around her. she had to be more responsible and help out with her family more, so she took it upon herself to get part-time jobs when her mother quit her job due to her forgetful memory. JAEWON would help her younger brother take care of her mother who was slowly forgetting who they were, and was the one to accompany her mother to the hospital for treatment while her dad was pulling night shifts. and for swimming? like hell would she give that up, it was probably the most talented thing about her, except this time, she took it more seriously, and soon enough, she became the ace of the team and was appointed as captain.

    ↳ BRIGHT & OUTGOING ; to put it in the simplest terms possible, SHIN JAEWON burns as bright as the sun. she's ALWAYS happy, and everyone knows it -- mostly because she's definitely not afraid to show it. she's never seen without a smile, and her joy is so contagious that it's something akin to the flu. JAEWON is the type that is so outgoing it's upfront and in your face; she'll never hesitate to start up a conversation with anyone, even if they seem like the type that could be a serial killer. for most people who come into contact with her, she can be a bit overbearing and too much to handle. an accurate (and slightly... interesting) way to describe her is like prescription medicine: great and helpful in small, controlled doses, but when given all at once, can be like a fatal overload.

    ↳ LOUD ; if you were to ask a student to pick JAEWON out of a massive crowd, it's easy as the girl sticks out like a sore-thumb with just how loud she can be. one thing that practically everyone knows about her is how chatty she is. she talks a lot, enough to keep a conversation going with even an inanimate object, and it seems as if she always know what to say (which is why many people say she gives the best advice possible.) talking a lot and being loud usually always go hand in hand, and for JAEWON, there's no exception. she has a tendency to use her outside voice all the time, and most people close to her have grown accustomed to her yelling when she gets overexcited... which is basically always.
