- The OP to the movie being the creation of Major's synthetic body is absolutely perfect thematically, especially following on from her disappearance from those she attacked, as if this is the only real her and the old her has disappeared as well, and then waking up to work
- We're all of ten minutes in and there's already some more fascinating political plot happening then most shows manage in 12 episodes
- brain was hacked through a phone line? Holy SHIT. Her ghost? Her spirit?
- Computer ethic infringements, so there is an ethical body or law system in place for these advanced technologies
- she hears a thought, a whisper of an idea in her ghost. that's interesting
- Shes smart, she brings in someone to specifically act as a counter point to the team in that officer so he can pull them back in line if needed
- brains as a program, barrier breaker, code and a data card to access the brain as required. Using the random idiots to help spread the code and avoid detection
- brain computer interface to use for computation as well as direct control over technologies such as driving by mental control
- Shes undeniably female, but kick ass, and while she has no race like most anime, she's definitely leaning towards non-western. i see why people were so pissed off with the live action one now
- How smart, that the thermal-optic camo would also show up as a cold spot in a crowd and you can use that to detect them
- MY WATERMELONS
- The environments may have aged in quality and technique, but be damned if they still aren't insanely detailed and precise as to giving a specific tone of environment for each shot
- The terror of fighting an invisible person who can just manipulate you as she wants and you have no control. The scene looks utterly ridiculous out of context, but in context its actually somewhat terrifying as a combat thing
- He doesn't even know his name or any memories. He's been brain hacked and doesn't even know it?
- Puppets without their ghosts? With red blood running through them? Ghosts are the identity, the core of consciousness, the idea of self.
- Corgi, most nonthreatening nickname ever hahahaha
- This old man is just completely and utterly over his job by now huh
- Only 2 successful cases after all of those sim realities, that's pretty horrific and limited
- The shot of Major meeting Major in the water with her reflection, as if seeing the past her connect with the new her after her revival in the new body was a GREAT shot
- I like this guy with the freaky eye glasses thing, hes interesting in the way he follows through his interactions with others. Batou is his name
- That she identifies with her new body, her hand and her face is a very interesting take on it all. She is who she is now, not who she was or what she should be by nature. She makes full use of her body, her enhancements
- Oh wait, who's talking to them on the boat, that's not her, that's someone else, someone in their brain I'm tipping by the way the focus comes on the port points on her neck
- Dual Majors is clearly going to be a theme, a Major from a restaurant looks out a window and sees a Major on a boat. That's... odd. Why do I always find the WEIRD Japanese movies.... them being Japanese movies may be a large part of that though. Thats another major in a store in a different outfit again I think
- Blond chick naked on the freeway, new Major? This is interesting
- Oh that scene of the blond cyborg being woken up and tittering as if she is about to explode is just fucking disturbing, especially with the sound effects as if something is squishing around in her
- So its not a human but it has a ghost? Hence ghost in the shell, that's awkward. OH that's REALLY awkward, the same company is the ones responsible for the force, and they just got hacked and manipulated
- Thats a lot of locks and security and hard metal for an elevator
- Major's doubt is fantastic, the idea of if she's her where did she come from, her ghost and identity, what makes her her and how secure is it, if you can believe your own mind. HOLY SHIT HOW ARE WE ONLY 40 MINUTES IN
- Holy shit this show is smart, to use the type of person vs the cars and pressure sensitive to determine the amount of people as well, combined with the timing of the doors. I love how DETAILED they are with the technology on this show, they really thought through the whole idea and consequences of the tech they introduce
- They used a prison of a cyborg body to hijack an actual brain, smart
- The usage of the halo around the head of the cyborg body while it identifies as a sentient lifeforms instead of a program is VERY poignant
- This got very existential all of a sudden when it comes to the idea of what a life actually can be defined as on a technological and biological level
- "maybe he has the hots for someone so he betrayed everyone" my god that's such an anime thing to say
- So the Puppet master is a consciousness used as a hacking tool, not an actual person, that's cool, no wonder it put such a big importance on the idea of its own sentience
- Holy shit the gore when the car crashes and they get taken out by bullets was fucking incredible
- The irony of the human cop understanding how kick ass she is, while the companion cyborg thinks she needs protection
- That tank looks like a giant creature covered in the camo then. Correction, it looks like a Joltik
- They make wonderful usage of still shots and absent movement to create a particular tone and scene when it comes to her thoughts and planning
- The music may not always be for me but its absolutely perfect, haunting and a bit disturbing, dramatic without being in your face,
- OH GOD, watching major's body tear itself to pieces trying to open the tank was rather disgusting. THAT'S how you do shock gore, Akira
- Okay so maybe Batou had a point about her needing to be protected a bit, she almost got her melon crushed before he showed up
- The detail of how her hair lays in the water is great.
- Holy shit major have a breather, you just got through a battle and almost got crushed and you're going straight in for a dive?
- I love the idea of the serrations of the edges on the plane blades to help reduce flight noise like an owls trailing edges on their wing feathers
- The merging of the two ghosts into a single one like soul mates, both unable to reproduce, but one able to die, able to offer the other something they cannot have, especially for the program seeking to become more human while the humans seek to be become more tech. Fuck this density, I love it
- The angel falling from the skies to destroy the fallen angel of Lucifer, the puppet master, hello hammer my old friend
- I thought that was going to be a picture of a real person in that medical chair then and was preparing for some NGE shit
- I enjoy that there is not a winner for the political aspect of the show, its just a matter of a result, not one that is a success or true failure, its very true
- There's more to the passage they heard on the sea. The idea of discarding a childhood once creation is reached. They merged, as if mental sex, and in so become adults, became something greater then the individual parts, not Major of the program but more. I expected this but its cool as hell
- That head may be the majors but that expression and that face is not hers in any way shape or form
