- "At 51 Third St., the report recommended that citizens be protected from arbitrary decisions based on personal or political influences. Code enforcement has been criticized over the years as being used as a political tool".
- After reading this paragraph in the TU I would like an explanation of it's meaning. Since the original article pointed out Matt McGrath as the code officer and made reference to him being the son of a former councilman I hope you are not implying that I or he were picking on your friends. As I've stated I had never even noticed that building or heard of the residents that lived there. I'm sure my son has the email directing him to do his job which as I recall was the right decision.
- I do find it amusing the article uses the term "political tool" as this case in particular was one where friends of certain council members complained about violations they incurred and expected to be exempt despite all residents being subject to the same laws. In turn the councilmembers screamed and yelled protecting their friends from the expectation they be responsible residents. You really don't have to look any further than this current group of councilmembers to see what a "political TOOL" really is. Thanks
