- Magic 8-ball, will this be a fast seed? .... Outlook not good? Uh oh.
- Reading the logic in OoTR is hard, so sometimes it's nice to ignore all of that and let RNG take the wheel!
- Set up:
- - Use the online Magic 8-ball tool found here: https://www.online-stopwatch.com/random-name-pickers/magic8ball/?r=EvEhynkShb or https://www.online-stopwatch.com/random-name-pickers/magic8ball/?r=EvEhynkShb/fullscreen for the fullscreen version. This has custom sides set up for each of the different areas in OoT.
- - It is recommended (but not required) to turn off the sound effects, found in the top-left section next to the settings button. The sound effect might get annoying after a while, and is also RIDICULOUSLY loud.
- - After rolling, an option box will appear in the bottom-right section. **Make sure to unselect the 'Remove option' button**, and then select Continue. This will keep the area in the pool, so it can be selected again. If you accidentally remove an option, you'll have to refresh the page to bring the full list back.
- Rules:
- - You may clear as many or as few checks as you would like in the starting area.
- - Once you decide to leave an area (including the starting area), you must roll the magic 8-ball to determine where to go. As long as that area can be accessed with your current equipment (following the DDR ruleset) and that there is at least one check there that you are capable of getting with your glitch knowledge and experience, you must go to the area that is rolled. Yes, even if the method to get that check is a stupid crazy glitch that no one in their right mind should ever do.*
- - Note that that also includes if the area that is rolled is the area you are currently in. Maybe that check you skipped has something important and the magic 8-ball is trying to help?
- - If there are no more checks in an area that was rolled, or if you are not able to get any more checks there that you can get with your current equipment, then reroll for a new area.
- - Once in a new area, you must collect at least one check, but can collect as many checks as you would like.
- - Since there are no checks in Inside Ganon's Castle, that area is not included on the magic 8-ball. So feel free to go to Ganondorf whenever you want (following DDR ruleset, of course). However, going to the area for the light arrows follows the normal rules above (i.e. you can't go to that area until the magic 8-ball tells you to, and you must collect at least one check in any accessible area it tells you beforehand). Hey, maybe there's an important item you need before getting light arrows, like magic or GREG. Magic 8-ball knows, magic 8-ball provides.
- Have fun everyone! And believe in the power of the magic 8-ball!
- * The end goal is still to have fun, so don't feel absolutely pressured if you are getting frustrated with a trick. If that happens, just get a different check or roll again for a new area. Be kind to yourselves <3
