  1. [09:14] Malibu exclaims, "Oh, there she is!"
  2. [09:14] Malibu exclaims, "Hey, sleepy!"
  3. [09:14] Asa says, "Some... I've stablized a patient with a neck injury using Wellspring, and patched a few wounds."
  4. [09:14] Hina Lam exclaims, "Sorry! I overslept!"
  5. [09:14] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Oh that's good to hear Asa !"
  6. [09:14] Svengalf Sandsker says, "And hello back Hina."
  7. [09:14] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Better late then never, right ?"
  8. [09:14] Malibu asks, "Did Miss Ksceniya pass the pudding I gave you?"
  9. [09:14] Svengalf Sandsker says, "... Oh. I don't think she did."
  10. [09:14] Sonya Lange says, "Um... I've studied a bit but not had any practice really."
  11. [09:14] Svengalf Sandsker says, "At least I didn't get pudding."
  12. [09:14] Malibu says, "I left one for Hina."
  13. [09:15] Malibu says, "During her uh... medical emergency."
  14. [09:15] Malibu says, "I was talking to Miss Ksceniya about getting a singing slime."
  15. [09:15] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Oh, like the one at the Aphros' square ?"
  16. [09:15] Malibu says, "Yeah."
  17. [09:15] Asa says, "*squirms in place, opening his mouth to say something to the titanic being, but he shuts it, turning his ears on the doctor and the rest of the class."
  18. [09:15] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Could be good indeed to have a singer on stage, hehe"
  19. [09:15] Hina Lam says, "I didn't get any pudding."
  20. [09:15] Hina Lam exclaims, "And hey, Sven!"
  21. [09:16] Malibu exclaims, "Are you serious?!"
  22. [09:16] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes?"
  23. [09:16] Malibu exclaims, "Did she sneak it for herself?!"
  24. [09:16] Malibu says, "Oh, when I get my hands on that cute face-"
  25. [09:17] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Well. Let's get started?"
  26. [09:17] Asa says, "R-right..."
  27. [09:17] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Asa?"
  28. [09:17] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Onward."
  29. [09:18] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Alright everyone ! Take place !"
  30. [09:18] Hina Lam nods her head twice and sits herself in her seat!
  31. (Hina Lam)
  32. [09:18] Svengalf Sandsker unties his cloak and straps of his armor, putting himself more casual.
  33. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  34. [09:18] Malibu sets down her... NOTEBOOK! ON THE TABLE!
  35. (Malibu)
  36. [09:19] Sonya Lange quiets her usual song.
  37. (Sonya Lange)
  38. [09:23] The lapine smiles and nods towards the class.
  39.
  40. "And welcome to the third and final lesson of my medical classes ! Today, we will be overviewing treatments available, both physical, and magical."
  41.
  42. He takes the medical book on the desk, opening to a specific page.
  43.
  44. "But first ! Let's see if you remember some of the injuries we have talked before. Let's start with... Physical injuries !"
  45.
  46. He observes the class, smiling.
  47.
  48. "This time, simply raise your hand if you want have one type of injury to tell, then we will let the others have their chance. Who wants to start?"
  49. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  50. [09:23] Asa awkwardly raises his hand.
  51. (Asa)
  52. [09:24] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes Asa?"
  53. [09:26] "Abrasions," he said, using the mental recall to put the scene of just a few moments ago out of his head.
  54.
  55. "Common, usually not life threatening."
  56.
  57. He looks like he's about to say more, but shakes his head, he starts to wring his hands together.
  58. (Asa)
  59. [09:26] Svengalf Sandsker nods, offering a smile.
  60. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  61. [09:26] Sonya Lange raises a hand.
  62. (Sonya Lange)
  63. [09:26] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Good ! What else do we have ?"
  64. [09:26] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes Sonya?"
  65. [09:28] Sonya Lange says, "Um... Piercing wounds and puncture wounds are vertical, deeper wounds that can be pretty dangerous especially if they hit organs."
  66. [09:28] Svengalf Sandsker nods once again.
  67. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  68. [09:28] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Correct."
  69. [09:29] Malibu exclaims, "Oh, oh!"
  70. [09:29] Malibu raises a hand.
  71. (Malibu)
  72. [09:29] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes Malibu ?"
  73. [09:30] Malibu says, "Lacerations! cuts that penetrate the skin! They can be pretty hard to deal with if they hit an organ."
  74. [09:30] Malibu quickly glances on a page in her notebook just to be sure.
  75. (Malibu)
  76. [09:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Lacerations and cuts, yes ! Deeper than a simple abrasion."
  77. [09:33] The lapine smiles, as he flips one page.
  78.
  79. "Now. I know we had an unusual guest who arrived at the previous class, which sort of deviated our plans. Altough, I do hope this was instructive to watch !"
  80.
  81. His attention turns towards the two Emeraldi coming, offering a smile.
  82.
  83. "Ha ! Exactly the reinforcements I needed. We were reviewing the second class and listing the injuries we have covered. We have talked about abrasions, slashes, punctures and penetrattive wounds. Can you both tell me two of the three physical injuries left that I have presented?"
  84. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  85. [09:34] Hina Lam was looking at her medical notes. She could hardly focus on them, really. She was silent in her seat, pulling her paper close to her face or pushing it back far to see it - as if she'd need glasses to read her words, but the prismatic spheres in her vision made it difficult to read properly. Everything was quite off feeling.
  86. (Hina Lam)
  87. [09:42] "I believe you're still in need of.. Burns no?,
  88.
  89. As well as bruises.. often just miscolored skin in the area, you mentioned it was typically bleeding under the skin."
  90.
  91. He spoke as he sat down, further in the back this time.
  92. (Stede Emeraldi)
  93. [09:43] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Stede.
  94. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  95. [09:43] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Burns, indeed."
  96. [09:44] Saiya sat down, entering quite late by the schedule, but it seems she was quite welcomed to the scene. Being asked for review practically as she came over to the side desk. She pulled out her notebook and opened it up, flipping over a few pages.
  97. "Well, I wouldn't call myself reinforcements... You ask me for two of three? If you've covered the physical injuries then there's I believe amputations if you have not mentioned them under cuts by things like blades, then there's the Burns as Stede mentioned... varying degrees. The opposite but similar to burns is... frostbite? Unless that falls under the same category of burns."
  98. She said uncertainly, with a wave of her hand at her notebook. She tends to look back to it for basically everything in this class rather than commit to memory.
  99. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  100. [09:47] The lapine nods towards Saiya, proud of her.
  101.
  102. "That's good answers ! To complement, as the class couldn't get some precisions of these injuries, there are also bone fractures that is caused by blunt force trauma, which can either chip or entirely break a bone. And as for the bruises, indeed, it's a symptom of bleeding under the skin."
  103.
  104. He returns back towards the class.
  105.
  106. "Now, class. Have you taken notes of the magical injuries when I offered the occasion to beek into the medical book? If yes, who wants to tell me the three type of magical wounds ? Raise your hand if you know one !"
  107. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  108. [09:49] Sonya Lange says, "Mm..."
  109. [09:50] Malibu raises her hand, with the other one trying to mark a spot on her notebook.
  110. (Malibu)
  111. [09:50] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes Malibu ?"
  112. [09:51] Malibu asks, "Ah... mental afflictions was one..? It's... usually what a patient ends up with after a witch encounter or something.. right?"
  113. [09:52] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Malibu.
  114. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  115. [09:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Afflictions, in short, yes. It's a type of magical injury that can affect convergence points of the circuits."
  116. [09:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Mental afflictions are set in the temple."
  117. [09:53] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Which, like you said, can mess with the thoughts of the people."
  118. [09:53] Malibu says, "Oooh.."
  119. [09:53] Malibu nods eagerly.
  120. (Malibu)
  121. [09:53] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Emotionnal afflictions for example, they are set on the chest, around the heart. These ones touches the feelings and emotions."
  122. [09:54] Asa finally produces one of his several notebooks, hurrying to jot everything down that was said in the past few minutes.
  123. (Asa)
  124. [09:55] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Who else can tell me the other magical injuries?"
  125. [09:55] With those prismatic light spheroids enshrouding her vision, to a degree, Hina wouldn't particularly read her medicinal knowledge notes well.
  126.
  127. The Kitsune pushed the paper away from her face, trying to cant her head in different directions to read her own words, but the endeavor was fruitless. To pull it close had a similar end result.
  128.
  129. A soft sigh protrudes from her. Even when she held her writing utensil, the girl could barely make out what she was writing. It was irritating for Hina.
  130.
  131. The noises included from other voices felt a tad overwhelming - she was dreading the effects of this potion permeating her very essence, as Ksceniya put it. It could be obvious that she was presently a bit distraught, thus she places down her paper and utensil to just listen in silence, and nothing more.
  132. (Hina Lam)
  133. [09:59] Asa gives the poor Kitsune a worried glance, he didn't know what he could do to help.
  134. (Asa)
  135. [10:00] "Foreign mana inside one's magical circuits - frying them, altering them in some way.. although possibly also doing nothing at all.
  136.
  137. Another would be.. body alterations, rewriting functions, such as feeling sand around one's feet perpetually, or perhaps water in the lungs."
  138.
  139. Stede gave a little wave just as he spoke, seeing nobody else moving to do so.
  140. (Stede Emeraldi)
  141. [10:06] The lapine nods towards Stede.
  142.
  143. "Correct. We have the invasion of foreign mana in the circuits that can cause internal damage. Specially when it is heat intensive magic like Lightning, it can cause overloads too.
  144.
  145. And you are right for Alterations ! Body rewrite, as if someone would write runes directly in the organism to change the properties of our biology."
  146.
  147. He nods, then observes Hina.
  148.
  149. "Is everything alright Hina ?"
  150. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  151. [10:11] For a second, the girl was lost in thought, staring towards the paper that she couldn't read very well. "..Sort of, yeah," she says, glancing up towards the Lapine man with a frown.
  152.
  153. "It's just hard to see my notes, that's all." She was sure he'd have understood her position while under the effects of a Witch's brew.
  154.
  155. The Kitsune looks away; she'd not say it before the class what was going on with her at the present moment, but she wouldn't be opposed to it if asked to bring it up.
  156.
  157. Magical injuries was their subject matter, wasn't it? It brought her back to the one Indulgence had placed on her chest, which is where she finds a hand to raise up and settle on, as if feeling for the injury that was once there.
  158.
  159. "I'm okay though," she adds in again, staring towards the floor.
  160. (Hina Lam)
  161. [10:15] Malibu whispers: Miss Nera, hello!
  162. [10:15] Malibu whispers something.
  163. [10:15] Saiya Emeraldi shrugged glancing to Stede.
  164. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  165. [10:36] The lapine nods. He offers a reassuring smile, as he weaves his hand with a little silvery glow, to revigorate the blessing that he provided in her in the process to help her recovery.
  166.
  167. "Alright then. If you need help, Don't be afraid to ask."
  168.
  169. He then returns back to the desk, pulling a backpack. Carefully, he takes out four glass containers : a bottle, a jar, and two vials.
  170.
  171. "Good ! Now that we have covered the reminder of the second class, let's start with the third one ! Medical procedures and treatments. We will go over physical procedures first, but before ! Let's get over the available tools.
  172.
  173. One of the doctor's best friend, it's the alchemists. They can prepare you some solutions that will assist your treatments to soothe the pain, or keep the patient alive during heavy surgeries.
  174.
  175. First, I have mentionned that before you treat a wound, it is important to keep the wound clean, but also your tools !"
  176.
  177. He picks up from a drawer another bottle, with a soap.
  178.
  179. "The simplest form is rubbing neutral soap and distilled water to wash your hands before anything, so you don't contamine the wounds or anything."
  180.
  181. He opens the bottle, waters his hands, then rubs the soap to scrubs his palms and fingers in every angle.
  182.
  183. "Watch closely, as not only I wash my palm, but also in between the fingers, articulations, and even under the nails. They must be -spot on-."
  184.
  185. Taking a tower, he dries his hands.
  186.
  187. "You could also rub the skin of the patient with it to clean the dirt around the wound. Just ensure you don't directly touch the wound."
  188.
  189. He smiles, then he picks up the bottle he presented first.
  190.
  191. "This is rubbing alcohol. A special chemical preparation that only contains alcohol to kill the germs and scrub the most tenacious filfth. Also important to clean your surgical tools first. You can also use it to clean the dried blood or the skin before you do an incisition, or a puncture.
  192.
  193. Do note : Rubbing alcohol is NOT for consumption. And you don't use drinking alcohol like wine, beer, rum, because their nutriments can infect wounds !"
  194.
  195. Dropping back the bottle, he then picks up another bottle from the drawer.
  196.
  197. "And this is Hydrogen Peroxide. This is the best disinfecting we can prepare, but also quite a powerfull one. So use it sparingly, when you have to clean deeply a wound."
  198.
  199. He nods, then proceeds towards the jar. He opens the lid, revealing a green goo with an awfull smell.
  200. "This is lax essence. One of the most basic preparations an alchemist can prepare. It uses some refined poison to become safe on the application, and numb the nerves when applied to the skin. A decent painkiller too for treating burns."
  201.
  202. Closing the jar, he goes to the next vial with a brown glass.
  203.
  204. "In case you are going to proceed to heavy surgeries, sometimes it is better to entirely knock out the patient. For that, you use sleeping potions. This will entirely numb their body, and put them asleep. Good to start a surgery without them being aware they are being opened. OF COURSE, ensure that they are alright with such methods. The well being and the trust of the patient is important."
  205.
  206. He chuckles, then closes the vial. He turns towards the vial with a blue liquid.
  207.
  208. "And this is an Elixir of Healing. Remember when I and Tristinia mentionned that our magi anatomies recover faster than the non magi, and have better immune systems ? This elixir improves the overall automatic recovery of your injuries by strengthening your mana to recover faster than normal."
  209.
  210. He then turns towards the class.
  211.
  212. "There is also one potion, but very difficult to achieve as it needs one Aetherblossom, a flower of grand rarity : the White Oil. Using the aether inside said flower, it is able to regenerate the flesh and the circuits with its application. Even a missing arm, can regrow intact. And surely, more can be done with it.
  213.
  214. Now ! Any questions ?"
  215. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  216. [10:38] Sonya scribbles some notes down on each of the described alchemical tools.
  217.
  218. "Um... I talked to a doctor once and she said 'replenishments' were great, too. What are those for?"
  219. (Sonya Lange)
  220. [10:40] The lapine turns towards Sonya. He chuckles.
  221.
  222. "Ah ! This is the kind of potion for the doctor rather than the patient. This potion makes any kind of work to feel less tiring. In case of a heavy medical triage, a doctor who has drunk such potion can treat more patients than one without such.
  223.
  224. Does it answer?"
  225. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  226. [10:40] Sonya Lange nods.
  227. (Sonya Lange)
  228. [10:40] Sonya Lange says, "That does, thanks."
  229. [10:40] The fox only takes a few lines of notes on this. The topic of alchemy was one of his strong suits! Was there a bit of satisfaction at not being lost> Maybe. The mention of white oil, however, got him to raise his hand.
  230. (Asa)
  231. [10:40] Nera asks, "Can i steel taht sleepy potion?"
  232. [10:41] Right! Let's get to writing stuff! With the NEW notebook!
  233.
  234. Hand sanitizing.. Yeah, pretty simple steps, right? It's like preparing to cook.
  235.
  236. Malibu purses her lips while quickly noting down the presented substances, trying to draw sketches alongside the given information for future reference.
  237.
  238. The sleeping potion brings up some... bad memories, which she can't help but hide from her expression when it's before her eyes the second she raises her head.
  239.
  240. White oil... A missing arm can... regrow?
  241.
  242. "A-Ah.. I think it's a bit off topic but... what's an Aetherblossom..?"
  243.
  244. She raises her hand without lifting her arm off her table.
  245. (Malibu)
  246. [10:41] Asa says, "Similar to the question I had. Where exactly are they found? I've never seen one..."
  247. [10:49] The blessing within her temple that he had instilled some time ago upon her return to Aphros was weaved and replenished. "Thank you," she says, staring at the ground for a couple of seconds longer before finally glancing up at her returns to his desk.
  248.
  249. The Kitsune watches as best as she can, making out each bottle's details - it was good that the girl had a great visual and descriptive memory so she could jot down these notes later on, or perhaps ask another classmate for the notes.
  250.
  251. Each particular brew before her is noted: the purpose of the rubbing alcohol, do not drink it, and don't use normal alcohol for wounds. Hydrogen peroxide is best for disinfecting. Lax essence that numbs the nerves when applied to the skin, good for killing pain and treating burns. Sleeping potions that was good for long-term surgeries to induce a patient with rest and numb their entire body, like an anesthetic. Last, an Elixir of healing that improves the overall automatic recovery of temporary injuries by strengthening one's mana to recover quickly.
  252.
  253. Finally - one she's heard from the first class. White Oil. A regenerative potion that fully heals one's injuries by remending the flesh.
  254.
  255. "Whoa.." She speaks lowly about the potion, though her head shakes; she hadn't any questions about what Svengalf has shown the class thus far.
  256.
  257. However, she does remain silent, listening to other questions and noting down the answers in her head in the meantime, glancing between each person as they speak.
  258. (Hina Lam)
  259. [10:49] The lapine smies towards Sonya, satisfied, then chuckles towards Nera.
  260.
  261. "No ! This is for a demonstration purpose !"
  262.
  263. He then returns towards Malibu. He thinks a bit.
  264.
  265. "Mh. I have, unfortunately, never seen one even with my 19 years of medical practice. I know at least, some of them have been sold in the auction houses.
  266. But otherwise? Aetherblossoms likely grow in places rich with aether. An example of it, would be the Tower of Aetius. I haven't found aetherblossoms there, but I have acquired once a crystal of pure aether there. And namely ? Austereia is a metal that appeared after the calamity of 124, which was a shockwave of energy from the Tower that ravaged the Peninsula. And from what we have noticed, Austereia has some faint aether presence in it.
  267.
  268. So likely... you may find aether blossoms in the tower's realms. Which means... this will be a dangerous task.
  269.
  270. Anything else?"
  271. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  272. [10:50] Malibu says, "...So it's just... impossible. No other questions, thank you."
  273. [10:50] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It is possible."
  274. [10:51] Svengalf Sandsker says, "But it will be a great challenge."
  275. [10:51] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Aether... It's something way above the ether we can manipulate. It's perhaps, the closest mana to the divines."
  276. [10:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "That's why I often surname it as "Angelic Ether.""
  277. [10:52] Malibu says, "I.. see."
  278. [10:52] Asa says, "Hm... better to create an organ than seek to it remade with such a potion then."
  279. [10:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It depends."
  280. [10:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "You can create an artifical organ, or a prothestic."
  281. [10:52] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It will never be as pure as our original flesh."
  282. [10:53] Malibu says, "...Yeah."
  283. [10:53] Asa frowns.
  284. (Asa)
  285. [10:53] Asa says, "It can be better. With enough refinement and work, surely."
  286. [10:53] Svengalf Sandsker says, "The closest thing you can do, it's trying to mimick the closest conductivity of the original flesh."
  287. [10:53] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Thus why, trauma kits with arcanium work better than just regular orichalcum."
  288. [10:53] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Because Arcanium has the ability to ''adapt'' to the mana around it."
  289. [10:54] Stede Emeraldi says, "Mhm."
  290. [10:54] Stede Emeraldi says, "It's best to have an Artificer and an Alchemist nearby if you're doing medical work - or at least know one.."
  291. [10:54] Nera says, "Well"
  292. [10:54] Nera says, "If oyu know where to get arcanium"
  293. [10:54] Nera says, "You life a good life"
  294. [10:54] Stede Emeraldi says, "... I know I get asked for kits and such."
  295. [10:54] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Artificers are indeed another friend of doctors."
  296. [10:55] Asa nods slowly, not quite accepting the idea that it's impossible to just make a replacement that stands up to, or exceeds the capabilities of the original, but he keeps his grumblings, and his ambitions to himself.
  297. (Asa)
  298. [10:56] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Anything else?"
  299. [10:56] Malibu says, "No.."
  300. [11:10] Hina Lam says, "Oo"
  301. [11:12] The lapine smiles and nods.
  302. "I will clarify better once we cover the surgical Tools. So let's cover it !"
  303.
  304. Picking up from the drawer like last time, he takes a plate with different surgical tools. He makes room by pushing the glass containers asside, except the rubbing alcohol. Taking one by one, as he cleans them with a dampened rag from the alcohol, he explains together.
  305.
  306. "Sometimes, you will have to intervene deeper under the flesh. To remove an object embedded inside, or reset some bones, or reach for the circuits to repair them like I did in our previous demonstration.
  307.
  308. This small and thin blade, it's a scalpel. Like a ''knife'', but thinner and more precise. It is used to start cutting the skin, flesh and tissue. It's your main purpose tool to start surgeries.
  309.
  310. Then, we have the retractor. It's a tool, that you plunge into the opening to spread asside the tissue, bones and flesh to get abetter access to the area to operate.
  311.
  312. Then, those small blunt scissors, this is a hemostat. This is used, to control the bleeding when doing your cuts. You use them to clamp veins, arteries, and other areas to cease the bleeding during your surgery.
  313.
  314. Then, we have forceps, some sort of blunt pinches to hold external places or remove large foreign objects inside someone.
  315.
  316. And finally..."
  317.
  318. Leaning back to the drawer, he pulls out a longer and larger tool than the rest : a saw. It looks different than a wooden saw altough,.
  319.
  320. "... This is a medical saw. In last and extreme ressort, this is used to cut limbs who are beyond repair before they can be more grave and dangerous. Fortunately... I haven't needed such yet.
  321.
  322. Any questions?"
  323.
  324. He hides the saw in the drawer, observing the class.
  325. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  326. [11:13] Saiya Emeraldi slowly raised a hand.
  327. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  328. [11:13] Saiya Emeraldi asks, "What if bones are in the way of a surgical procedure?"
  329. [11:13] Saiya Emeraldi asks, "Can they always be moved?"
  330. [11:14] Saiya Emeraldi asks, "Would there ever be a time where a patient's bone might temporarily need to be taken out to work?"
  331. [11:15] Sonya writes some more notes, then raises a hand as well.
  332. (Sonya Lange)
  333. [11:15] Asa says, "*takes a moment to draw each tool, perhaps the frontiers' designs were more ergometric. He slowly raises his hand.* "
  334. [11:16] Stede Emeraldi says, "... If I had to guess.. if there's no alternate route.. I'd say you would have to remove the bone."
  335. [11:16] Saiya Emeraldi asks, "Does that by chance fall under or in violation of rule one?"
  336. [11:17] Stede Emeraldi asks, "Well.. no?"
  337. [11:17] Stede Emeraldi says, "Between death and a removed bone.. I think one's a better option."
  338. [11:17] Asa says, "That makes me wonder..."
  339. [11:18] Asa says, "If a patient's quality of life after surgery would be awful, is it better to just let them... no."
  340. [11:18] Asa shakes his head. Bad thoughts.
  341. (Asa)
  342. [11:20] Malibu continues taking notes and sketching the tools like she did with the first showcased items.
  343.
  344. The mention of... limb removal jolts her slightly, only to go back into scribbling onto the notebook.
  345. (Malibu)
  346. [11:22] Hina picks up her writing utensil, and with each medical tool shown, the Kitsune does her best to make drawings of them on a new sheet of paper, though - should anyone aim to see what she's drawing? It looks more like a child's scribbles, unfortunately.
  347.
  348. She'll still try her hardest though, trying not to get frustrated as she draws. To her head and eyes, it almost made some bit of sense, but when she holds up the paper to see what she's made? It's bad.
  349.
  350. With that, the girl gently lowers the paper on her desk and sink in her chair to sort of drown in the defeat of the feelings, despite lack thereof.
  351.
  352. Eventually, she does lean over towards Asa, as far as she can out of her chair, and whisper to him - "Asa, would it be too much trouble to ask if you could please take notes for me? I'm having a hard time doing it myself. I'll explain later," stated with a hint of agony in her tone, she didn't usually do this, but this time? For once? She had to.
  353.
  354. An ear flicks towards Sven's direction, however, keeping attention all the while.
  355. (Hina Lam)
  356. [11:22] The lapine turns towards Saiya, nods.
  357.
  358. "That's what the retractor and the forceps are used for, to displace the bones like ribs if you need to access to the heart for example ! That's the only case you may actually need to move a bone around, since the goal of the thoraxic cage is to protect your vital organs like the lungs and heart.
  359.
  360. Also… removing bone shards too in case of a fracture, that's a necessity too."
  361.
  362. He returns towards Asa.
  363.
  364. "Can you remind me the third rule of medecine ?"
  365. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  366. [11:22] Malibu cringes to the mention of... bones being moved.
  367. (Malibu)
  368. [11:27] Asa gives Hina a gentle nod, removing some pages from the back of his notebook as he starts copying the notes he already took.
  369.
  370. He'd also make sure to write everything down in more detail following the other Kitsune's request. Whatever was afflicting her may be inhibiting her ability to absorb the lesson after all. "Of course" he'd whisper back, sympathy plain in his tone.
  371.
  372. Sven's question made his ears flutter.
  373.
  374. "Hm... to produce a recovery regime for aiding recovery and improving the patient's life, yes?" He wasn't entirely certain, a bit of nervousness leaked through his answer.
  375. (Asa)
  376. [11:29] Stede supposed he ought to brush up on his crafting skills..
  377. His wife would certainly be asking him for a set of surgical tools afterwards, perhaps a pair they might both use at some point.
  378.
  379. He took a careful look at them all - making sure to take in their specific functions, as well as the fact they were all quite shiny - clear and mirrorlike surfaces covered them.
  380.
  381. Well polished.
  382. Sterile?
  383. Probably.
  384. (Stede Emeraldi)
  385. [11:34] The lapine turns nods towards Asa. His looks a little more grave.
  386.
  387. "Indeed. So that means : we do not kill, nor do we encourage patients to kill themselves. We are formed to save lives, not end them. You have tools to soothe someone's pain and injuries..."
  388.
  389. He takes a little sigh, softening.
  390.
  391. "... And even then... sometimes, there is nothing else you can do. There will be moments where you will have to witness your patient slowly dying in front of you after trying your best...
  392.
  393. ... So please. Never give up your attempts to save them. But if it is too much... Remember the second rule : consider the patient dear to you. Ensure, that in their last moments, they may be as comfortable as possible before Mortyl ferries their soul back to the Lifestream.
  394.
  395. This may sound depressing. But when you will take the responsabilities to save a life from death, you have to prepare yourself for such events. As you will be the first ones to see their injuries before anyone else.
  396. But remember where your strength lies : within your empathy, kindness, and altruism, to help and save lives with your powers, rather than taking it from others."
  397.
  398. He regains a smile, raising a fist to remain optimistic.
  399.
  400. His attention returns to Sonya.
  401.
  402. "Yes?"
  403. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  404. [11:36] Sonya Lange asks, "Um... some people have pretty precise magic. What would the... standards be for using magic as a tool?"
  405. [11:39] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Mh. You *could* use blood and bone magic yes as an alternative. Specially, if you use visionnary casting for the precision."
  406. [11:39] The fox accepts the answer with a solemn nod. It was depressing, it wasn't fair, but he was right; to give up on someone or to push them towards that point would be an unethical. He just hoped he never had to see someone slowly wasting away in the throes of fear and despair.
  407. (Asa)
  408. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Do *NOT* use emotionnal casting for surgeries altough."
  409. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "While it is simpler, it is also the most innacurate form of casting."
  410. [11:40] Sonya Lange asks, "Moreso like... light cutting as a scalpel?"
  411. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It scales with practice and mastery, you could say."
  412. [11:40] Sonya Lange nods.
  413. (Sonya Lange)
  414. [11:40] Malibu asks, "What about sound?"
  415. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "A beginner could indeed easily make a cut in the flesh."
  416. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Sound for surgeries...."
  417. [11:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "... Mmh..."
  418. [11:40] Saiya Emeraldi says, "Miss Malibu, I know you've an affinity for sound magicks but.."
  419. [11:40] Saiya Emeraldi asks, "Do you think that's practical?"
  420. [11:40] Malibu asks, "Why do you think I'm asking?"
  421. [11:41] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I don't think how you can use sound magic for surgeries. But for diagnostics, it could be possible."
  422. [11:41] Asa asks, "To remove phlegm from a patient's chest, perhaps?"
  423. [11:41] Saiya Emeraldi says, "The huh"
  424. [11:41] Svengalf Sandsker says, "With sound magic ? No, you need something more accurate."
  425. [11:42] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Altough ! We can talk about magical aid after."
  426. [11:42] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Ready to talk about the next subject?"
  427. [11:44] Asa takes a moment before he hums an affirmative, he was still producing two sets of notes.
  428. (Asa)
  429. [11:44] Stede Emeraldi asks, "Physical aid?"
  430. [11:44] Stede Emeraldi says, "... Hmm.."
  431. [11:45] Svengalf Sandsker says, "We will cover indeed now the physical procedures."
  432. [11:45] Hina Lam smiles at Asa and nods her head, mouthing 'Thank you' to him as she leans back in her seat to listen to the ongoing conversations. The girl felt relieved for the help.
  433. (Hina Lam)
  434. [11:46] Asa smiles back! He was happy to help.
  435. (Asa)
  436. [12:03] The lapine nods.
  437.
  438. "Good ! I actually forgot also to present the trauma kits too."
  439.
  440. He smiles, pulling from a closet a small chest, unlocking it. Inside, there are various components : neutral crystals, orichalcum and copper coils, iron plates.
  441.
  442. "I have showed you this during the demonstration, but for the Emeraldis, this is a trauma kit. Sometimes, there are wounds who will be beyond repair. Specially if it's an injury on the circuits. These kits have every components to replace the lost circuits with the coils. It's simply rewiring them together with the present circuits, as followed in the magical circuit anatomy chart.
  443.
  444. The kit also has crystals to support these coils, or manipulate the flows of the circuits. And as for the iron ? It is used for preparing prothesthics to replace a missing limb or help maintaining something inside.
  445.
  446. The issue, like I have said, it's that trauma kits will never replace perfectly the original damage. The body is not entirely compatible with foreign objects, and there may be some rejections. Some materials are more compatible with us, as mentionned with arcanium."
  447.
  448. He nods.
  449.
  450. "As for the rest of physical procedures, here is a quick summary. You can find most of the instructions into a medical book written by a non magi again.
  451.
  452. For basic first aid, don't forget that you must first ensure your safety and your patient's safety too. Then, spot the most grievous wound you can find. If there is a heavy bleeding on a limb, you can use something to tie the limb. For example..."
  453.
  454. He weaves some teal colored magic on his hand, before painting a layer of red crystals on his upper right arm.
  455.
  456. "Imagine that I am wounded at the right arm like this, and this crystal represents my blood, and it's quite heavy too as one vein was cut. You want first to stop the bleeding. For that, you must cover the bleeding withsomething like a cloth or a bandage. Or even your hand in the moment. If it is still bleeding profusely, then you attempt to tie something above the wound on the limb. This technique is called a tourniquet."
  457.
  458. He takes some cloth, wrapping it tightly around his upper arm, above the imaginary wound. He then ties it, and the layer of red crystal ceases.
  459.
  460. "Once you tie tightly like this, you will impede the bloodflow to leak out of the vein. This is good to stabilize your patient for now. But carefull, do not do this for too long, or the entire arm will become a bloodless numb limb !
  461.
  462. While under the tourniquet is on, you can attempt to fix the cut vein by searing it with heat, for example, back to the other vein, or do some precision sutures to stitch it back to the vein. Once this is stable, you can clean the wound, do some suture stitches in case the wound is too large, and put some bandages to protect it, and then release the tourniquet.
  463.
  464. This is forbasic first aid ! "
  465.
  466. He unties his tourniquet, so his arm can't become numb as before.
  467.
  468. "Any questions?"
  469. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  470. [12:05] Sonya Lange writes some notes, but doesn't raise her hand.
  471. (Sonya Lange)
  472. [12:07] Stede Emeraldi says, "Ah- I suppose this doesn't work on the neck? though I'd imagine cuts there would.. need to be treated quickly."
  473. [12:07] Stede Emeraldi says, "The tourniquet, that is- "
  474. [12:08] Malibu takes notes while resting her head on her hand other hand.
  475. (Malibu)
  476. [12:08] Saiya Emeraldi says, "That'd block off breathing I believe..."
  477. [12:08] Svengalf Sandsker says, "The neck is indeed problematic"
  478. [12:08] Svengalf Sandsker says, "If you tourniquet the neck, you also cut the respiration."
  479. [12:08] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Also, as a rule of thumb."
  480. [12:08] Svengalf Sandsker says, "The tourniquet is always placed in between the wound, and the heart."
  481. [12:09] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "The heart is responsible to flow the blood into our veins, so by placing the tourniquet in between, it can reach the cut !"
  482. [12:09] Malibu writes that down... this extra information saved countless lives already.
  483. (Malibu)
  484. [12:09] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Can't ! I mean."
  485. [12:09] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Slip of tongue, my apologies."
  486.
  487. [12:11] Asa hums, not looking up from his notes as he raises his hand.
  488. (Asa)
  489. [12:11] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Yes?"
  490. [12:11] Stede Emeraldi figured the head was different than the limbs - considering people don't live long without one.
  491. (Stede Emeraldi)
  492. [12:11] Asa asks, "Would a rejuvination potion work if applied directly to damaged viens in place of a suture?"
  493. [12:12] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Actually clever !"
  494. [12:12] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Might indeed work."
  495. [12:12] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Just be sure, that the rejeneration goes well. Use an hemostat to control the flow of blood."
  496. [12:13] Svengalf Sandsker says, "If you are careless... using the rejunevation potion directly in the bloodstream can help growing tumors."
  497. [12:13] Svengalf Sandsker says, "So use said potion sparingly."
  498. [12:13] Malibu whispers: Ew..
  499. [12:13] Svengalf may or may not have consigned several mice to be practice dummies.
  500. (Asa)
  501. [12:14] Asa says, "I see. Thank you."
  502. [12:15] Saiya Emeraldi shrugged to the old cat stepping on her notes for a moment.
  503. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  504.
  505. [12:21] The trauma kits were familiar - Hina recalled Svengalf having produced one for Tristinia when she was injured. The crystals, the metals, and the surgical tools were all too familiar to her.
  506.
  507. The little Kitsune teenager pays close attention to Sven's display of crystalline magics as he weaves some before them. Her eyes observe the red crystals, albeit they were more toned in color, making them quite an annoyance to look at for too long.
  508.
  509. The girl draws in a deep breath, but continues as best as possible to watch, and listen. A tourniquet - a technique to coil something around an appendage to halt bleeding as much as possible. She'd keep that in mind for reference.
  510.
  511. The procedure he was explaining was for basic aid on deep wounds, or gashes. Hina shakes her head to show she hadn't any questions to ask in those moments.
  512.
  513. It was difficult for her to ask anything with the constantly distraction of the prismatic spheres in her vision, the heightenedsenses, the euphoria of everything around her - deeper colors causing the world to feel whimsical, and such other sensations she felt anxious about but couldn't truly feel bad of.
  514.
  515. Regardless, she's usually glancing towards Sven, Asa's notes, and anyone as they speak up around her, trying to pay the utmost attention that she can as best as possible.
  516. (Hina Lam)
  517. [12:21] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Alright ! Ready to move on ?"
  518. [12:22] Hina Lam says, "Uh, yeah! Ready to move on."
  519. [12:22] Saiya Emeraldi says, "Ready to move on.."
  520.
  521. [12:28] Asa 's attention is immediately drawn to the work of art. His tail waves slowly as he simply appreciates the cat's boldness.
  522. (Asa)
  523. [12:28] Malibu gives a thumbs up to Nera as their drawing capabilities are practically equal.
  524. (Malibu)
  525. [12:32] The lapine nods.
  526.
  527. "To not extend the class further, I will move to the magical procédures. The rest of physical procedures, you can look upon another book. Stitches, sutures, removing embedded materials like arrow heads or bullets, dealing with punctured organs, bone fractures, burns, frost bites, it's all explained."
  528.
  529. He offers a smile.
  530.
  531. "As for magical injuries, which I often call them as ''curses''. When there is some invasive mana stuck in the circuits or during an overload, the best way you can do is by pushing your mana into their circuits to conduit it away, drain it, or even counterspell by using your own magic. It works in general with neutral ether mana, as every magi can do. But for some elemental mana stuck inside, you can try to use opposite elements to counter a lightning invasion for example.
  532.
  533. The same can be done with afflictions and alterations. Either, you attempt to flush away the magic with yours, or you counterspell, or you even override it in case of permanent magical injuries. Let's say for example, someone is suffering from oermanent visual hallucinations, you could try to replace the curse with something less severe, or replace the circuits with the trauma kit.
  534.
  535. Like I have mentionned, dealing with curses is more of a problem solving situation, that changes in every situations.
  536.
  537. Any questions on that regards?"
  538. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  539. [12:33] Sonya Lange asks, "Mm... The textbook said metaphysical was good at dealing with that sort of injury, right?"
  540. [12:36] Asa says, "I've heard horror stories of wellspring flushing out essential aspects of patient , doing more harm than good in the long run."
  541. [12:36] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Sonya.
  542. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  543. [12:36] Svengalf Sandsker says, "For illusions, indeed."
  544. [12:36] Asa asks, "Does the same hold true of other elements?"
  545. [12:37] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Well, Asa, wellspring is part of the water elements. And like water, if the flow lasts for too long, erosion may happen."
  546. [12:37] Svengalf Sandsker says, "As for wellspring ? Since it is water imbued with life-force, yes... it can errode the life-force of a patient."
  547. [12:38] Malibu asks, "Could you elaborate on "replacing a curse with something less severe" ?"
  548. [12:38] Malibu raises her head while scribbling on her trusty notebook.
  549. (Malibu)
  550. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker grins towards Malibu.
  551. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  552. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Let's say....."
  553. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Someone is suffering from voices haunting them."
  554. [12:38] Nera raise her hand
  555. (Nera)
  556. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Or a melody, that torments them."
  557. [12:38] Asa lifts his chin at Nera's exclaimation.
  558. (Asa)
  559. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker says, "You could, use your own magic, to override this curse, with your own soothing lullaby."
  560. [12:38] Malibu says, "Ah."
  561. [12:38] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Do you see what I mean ?"
  562. [12:38] Malibu says, "...Yeah."
  563. [12:39] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "You don't sound reassured !"
  564. [12:39] Stede Emeraldi says, "I suppose nature could be used to enhance natural healing.. or perhaps help reform damaged areas.. somewhat."
  565. [12:39] Malibu says, "N-No- just.. I dunno."
  566. [12:39] Malibu says, "Good to know."
  567. [12:39] Magical injuries - curses, to be specific. The idea of them brought a sense of dread to Hina, and her hand lifts to grip at her chest as ears reel back against inky locks on her head.
  568.
  569. Indulgence's curse might be gone, but the memories it if remained, and it often prompted post traumatic stress for the little Kitsune. The Fantasia was a constant reminder of her fuck up against that woman.
  570.
  571. A long, heavy sigh is let out as she tries to compose herself and not lose her cool. "What about fire magic?" Hina says with a shaken voice, glancing over towards the Lapine teacher.
  572.
  573. "If, uh.. if fire magic can cauterize a wound close, could the essence of the magic also.. burn away curses? Like.. witch magic - occult magic. It is possible to use fire magic to just.. burn away the other invasive mana?"
  574. (Hina Lam)
  575. [12:40] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Malibu, offering a reassuring smile.
  576. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  577. [12:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I know, you want to know how sound magic can be used to help others."
  578. [12:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Just be conscious, that it can."
  579. [12:41] Svengalf Sandsker says, "With practice, and experience, you will discover new creative ways to tend people"
  580. [12:41] Svengalf Sandsker turns towards Nera.
  581. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  582. [12:41] Malibu says, "Okay.. Thanks."
  583. [12:41] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "During an illusion ?"
  584. [12:42] Nera says, "....no"
  585. [12:42] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Mh. "
  586. [12:42] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Strange."
  587. [12:42] Nera points at her eyes
  588. (Nera)
  589. [12:42] Nera exclaims, "Borkne!"
  590. [12:47] Stede Emeraldi says, "Curses.."
  591. [12:47] Stede Emeraldi says, "Hmm.."
  592. [12:47] The lapine returns back to Hina. He nods.
  593.
  594. "You can indeed use fire magic to help cauterizing wounds, and also burn away some of these curses. It may be harder to burn away some water mana altough.
  595.
  596. Don't forget, that emotional casting has strong ties with the intentions and the representations you have for the element. If you focus into the purifying aspect of the Fire as a source of Life too, you may be able to overcome more tenacious curses.
  597.
  598. And even then ? Do you remember Tristinia, when she mentionned she weaves Holyfire, that it was used not only to cauterize her wounds inside, but also banish the occult ? You may attempt to achieve this too. But being able to weave holy magic requires a deep understanding of it, and a journey to achieve such. And once you bear its holyness, your essence will forever change, unable to remain neutral in your mana
  599.
  600. Does it answer you ?"
  601. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  602. [12:48] Saiya Emeraldi says, "Tristinia? Never heard of them myself..."
  603. [12:48] Sonya Lange asks, "I've heard... holy mages ask people if they were occultists when healing them. That's to avoid an adverse reaction, right?"
  604. [12:48] Svengalf Sandsker says, "She was one of our sudden guests in the non standard second class."
  605. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Sonya.
  606. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  607. [12:49] Hina Lam says, "Yes, that answers my question, Sven. Thank you."
  608. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Holy and Occult mana don't like each other."
  609. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker says, "So indeed, if someone uses holy magic in someone holding occult magic... it may be VERY unpleasant. Or worse."
  610.
  611. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Oh ?"
  612. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker adjusts his flower, smiling.
  613. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  614. [12:49] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Thank you."
  615. [12:49] Stede Emeraldi says, "Hmm.. I suppose that's an interesting thing, the two being incompatible."
  616. [12:50] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Holy and Occult magic are two extreme opposites."
  617. [12:50] Stede Emeraldi asks, "Have there been any doctors who use Absorption magic?"
  618. [12:50] Stede Emeraldi says, "I could see them removing curses easily.. perhaps."
  619. [12:50] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Likely it is possible to drain said curses."
  620. [12:50] Svengalf Sandsker nods.
  621. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  622. [12:50] Asa asks, "Hm. One being positive emotions, and another negative, yes? Or does the distinction go further than that?"
  623. [12:51] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Or also to remove any intrusive mana easily."
  624. [12:51] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I use for example, crystal magic, to drain some bad mana too, by growing crystals buds on their circuits. "
  625. [12:53] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Since crystal magic uses the mana crystals take root... it's quite convenient !"
  626. [12:53] Saiya Emeraldi tipped from one side to the other. A bit tired clearly. She seems to have zoned out in class.
  627. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  628. [12:54] Asa Cautiously gets up and... counter boops the cat. A tiny smile replaces that constantly nervous expression he usually wears.
  629. (Asa)
  630. [12:54] Svengalf Sandsker turns towards Asa.
  631. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  632. [12:54] Asa says, "S-sorry..."
  633. [12:55] Svengalf Sandsker says, "In very short ? Yes. It goes deeper than that. I have written books in regards of the Temptations of Hel. Occult magic has some bases on these for example."
  634. [12:55] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Anyway ! Other question, before I list finally the potential magical aids available ?"
  635. [12:55] Hina Lam shakes her head. She had no further questions at this time.
  636. (Hina Lam)
  637. [13:14] The lapine nods, as he continues with the last page of the book.
  638.
  639. "So ! For the magical aid, you can any corresponding element in the situation. Some elements are better than others to heal. But with enough creativity, you can solve anything !"
  640.
  641. He smiles, before processing.
  642.
  643. "Like mentionned, fire magic can be used to cauterize wounds, and ''burn'' the foreign mana if compatible
  644.
  645. Sounds magic can be used to soothe someone's senses by the right melodies. Acting like a pain reliever, or even help to speed up the natural recovery It can also be used as a sonar to detect some hidden curses in the circuits.
  646.
  647. Wind and water can help to purify and push away the foreign mana. Wellspring magic altough is a more potent version, as it is very close and related to hold living energies.
  648.
  649. Earth magic can help strengthening limbs, for example creating a plaster to hold a bone right. Crystal magic like I have mentionned, grows crystal holding specific kind of mana. Green crystals for example hold vitality mana, rejunevating the injured. Blue crystals hold wisdom mana, which helps to cleanse. And Red crystals hold empowering mana, which energize the patient from its weakness. And many things, as some people have seen me !
  650.
  651. Ether mana is the basics of everyone. But those who specialize in it are easily more capable to manipulate the flow of mana inside someone to deal with overloads and alike.
  652. On the topic of Holy then, carried through positive emotions like Hope and Love, their pure intention can attempt to mend any small wounds, but also help to cleanse the mind and banish the occult more easily than the rest. Holy magic can also ''bless'' other elements to strengthen them, such as the case of Holy Fire.
  653.
  654. Biological magic, like bone and blood, can easily replace any surgical tools during your healing processes with proper training and precision. Nature magic inthe other hand ? It withdraws directly into the living energies around to focus into a mending point, revigorating the circuits.
  655.
  656. Time magic, can attempt to revert a wound as if it didn't happen at all with the right preparations, or accelerate the recovery. Altough, be mindfull that altering the time around such wound can be dangerous on a very long time difference. So it's better to do it in a recent injury.
  657.
  658.
  659. Of course, other elements can be used to adress other issues. Like Light magic to flush away Shadow magic. Artificering with rune writing can also help fixing some injuries by reprogramming a curse or enchanting an implant to be more performant.
  660.
  661. It is up to your practice and experience !
  662.
  663. Any questions ?"
  664. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  665. [13:17] Sonya takes notes, writing quicker and with greater volume around the time sound, light, and shadow are mentioned.
  666.
  667. "Is there anything else that has to be considered with the magic of the patient, other than the previous holy-occult issue?"
  668. (Sonya Lange)
  669. [13:18] Asa makes several underlines on his version of the notes at rune for rune writing being used to heal. An interesting topic. He'd raise his hand, allowing Sonya's question to be given the attention it deserved first.
  670. (Asa)
  671. [13:23] Scribble... scribble...
  672.
  673. Malibu notes down the things mentioned, while she tries to keep her other hand on Nera's head. Good kitty.
  674.
  675. She jolts to the mention of light and sound, taking extra care while noting their uses down.
  676.
  677. "No questions.."
  678. (Malibu)
  679. [13:23] Saiya Emeraldi wouldn't get this final section of the notes... oh no! She had a drawn on black paint whiskers resembling a cartoon cat.
  680. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  681. [13:23] The lapine rubs his chin.
  682.
  683. "Mh. Try to analyze first the curse with some attention. Sometimes, you never know, but some curses can hold a trap when attempted to be treated. You may want to try disarming it first.
  684.
  685. Secondly, consider also the state of their circuits if they can flush the mana. If there are some broken circuits, it may be ideal to fix them first. Broken circuits are like broken tissue, both being some sorts of bleedings that need to be fixed.
  686.
  687. And thirdly, consider also any difference in magical anatomy. I have once done surgery on someone who had fiery, volatile blood. A wrong step, and the blood splurt would explode on my face.
  688.
  689. I hope this answers !"
  690. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  691. [13:23] Stede pondered for a moment.
  692.
  693. Magma and explosions..
  694. 'Somehow I don't think those would be the best.. for healing.. in any regard.'
  695.
  696. "Suppose one's magical attunements weigh heavily in their style and practice of healing.
  697.
  698. What of someone with less than stellar practice with their own magic?"
  699.
  700. A reasonably posited question.
  701. (Stede Emeraldi)
  702. [13:25] Sonya Lange nods.
  703. (Sonya Lange)
  704. [13:28] The lapine returns to Stede.
  705.
  706. "Like I have said, you can use artificering and runewriting manipulation to resolve magical wounds. At worst case scenario ? You could also use elemental crystals to provide you the corresponding mana.
  707.
  708. Artificery is a bit the jack of all trades, master of none, in terms of treating magical wounds.
  709.
  710. And as for alchemy, other than the remedies they can prepare, they are also limited to things like Elixirs of Healing, rejunevation potions, and other potions like White Oil."
  711. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  712. [13:29] Hina Lam asks, "Is learning alchemy hard?"
  713. [13:29] Stede Emeraldi says, "Ah- not particularly.."
  714. [13:29] Asa says, "Depends on who you ask. It's better to start young."
  715. [13:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It's like any crafting arts, you must take some time to learn the right recipes, understand the properties of ingredients, and practice."
  716. [13:30] Stede Emeraldi says, "It's about practice, mostly - and seeing the elements and effects within various things, the ways to mix them to extract particular bits.."
  717. [13:30] Nera says, "Nera no crafter but making a star.....starr......"
  718. [13:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Don't mix water and sodium together for example."
  719. [13:30] Nera says, "....i forgot"
  720. [13:30] Asa says, "Making a..."
  721. [13:30] Hina Lam glances between Asa, Sven, and Stede. The girl nods. Perhaps this would be an art she would take up.
  722. (Hina Lam)
  723. [13:30] Nera blinks. what was she triyng to do again....her brain was a bit werid today.
  724. (Nera)
  725. [13:30] Hina Lam says, "I don't know any alchemists, I think? Not that I can recall other than maybe Oliphr, but he's.. usually absent."
  726. [13:30] Nera says, "Olipheeer is kind just yeel"
  727. [13:30] Nera says, "He will answer"
  728. [13:31] Stede Emeraldi says, "I think there's at least three alchemists in the room.."
  729. [13:31] Asa says, "I'm one..."
  730. [13:31] Hina Lam says, "Oh.. Aha.."
  731. [13:31] Stede Emeraldi says, "Four then."
  732. [13:32] Stede Emeraldi says, "Given Svengalf is aware of potions, and alchemical tinctures.. he's either made them himself or knows an alchemist - I and my wife are both practiced in alchemy.."
  733. [13:34] The lapine nods towards Stede.
  734.
  735. "I have a stall where I sell potions and enchanting scrolls yes. I am also an artificer and an alchemist."
  736. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  737. [13:34] Hina Lam says, "Oh, wow! Do you.. plan to have any alchemy classes for the curious? I have.."
  738. [13:34] Hina Lam side eyes.
  739. (Hina Lam)
  740. [13:34] Hina Lam says, "So many ingredients.."
  741. [13:36] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I... don't do alchemy classes but I can do tutoring."
  742. [13:36] Hina Lam smiles and nods. She supposed Sven would just be her teacher for everything at this point. Wayfinding? Alchemy? She'd be owing him a lot, it seems.
  743. (Hina Lam)
  744. [13:36] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Any other questions ?"
  745. [13:37] Malibu asks, "I.. remember you mentioning wayfinding classes.. any news on that?"
  746. [13:37] Hina Lam says, "I don't have any more questions."
  747. [13:37] Sonya Lange asks, "Mm... there's dummy practice today, right?"
  748. [13:38] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Well. I have been quite extending the class. But does anyone want to try practicing on a dummy ? "
  749. [13:39] Saiya Emeraldi was still sleep on her part. Goofy ass.
  750. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  751. [13:39] Asa Asa's eye's light up.
  752. (Asa)
  753. [13:40] Asa asks, "If you wouldn't mind walking me through sutures?"
  754. [13:40] Stede Emeraldi poked his wife in the shoulder.
  755. (Stede Emeraldi)
  756. [13:40] Saiya Emeraldi says, "Huuh.."
  757. [13:40] Asa says, "I've practiced a little and want to know if I have it right."
  758. [13:40] Sonya Lange asks, "Uh, sure I'll try?"
  759. [13:40] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Mh. Two volunters."
  760. [13:40] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Anyone else?"
  761. [13:41] Malibu says, "Ah- Me as well."
  762. [13:41] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Three."
  763. [13:41] Stede Emeraldi asks, "What kind of practice anyway?"
  764. [13:41] Stede Emeraldi asks, "Surgical stuff.. or, simple practical things?"
  765. [13:41] Hina Lam says, "I would love to another time! Right now isn't the best time."
  766. [13:41] Hina Lam frowns.
  767. (Hina Lam)
  768. [13:41] Svengalf Sandsker says, "You will be dealing someone who has passed out and has been beaten up by four magi."
  769. [13:41] Saiya Emeraldi rubbed her eye.
  770. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  771. [13:42] Asa offers Hina a neat stack of notes.
  772. (Asa)
  773. [13:42] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Anyway ! Let me fetch the mannequin."
  774. [13:43] Hina Lam takes the stack of notes. The girl felt relieved to receive the notes. A smile is offered to Asa as she, again, mouths a 'Thank you.' to him!
  775. (Hina Lam)
  776. [13:46] 'You're welcome', The fox mouth's back. His tail wags. A sense of fulfilment blossoms in his chest. Helping people just felt right.
  777. (Asa)
  778. [13:48] The lapien smiles, making some room on the desk. He goes into the storage room, absent for some minutes. There is some unusual eerie noise behind the door.
  779.
  780. He returns back to the medical class, bridal carrying a mannequin.
  781.
  782. "This is Greg. Greg wanted to help Rose to fetch her lost rabbit plush, but on his way, he got beaten by four magi. He is unconscious, and needs you help."
  783.
  784. He lays the mannequin on the desk.
  785.
  786. It was human like : some kind of gelatinous mass prepared by the alchemists of the Frontier acts as the mannequin's flesh and derm. Proportions were adult like, male body. But the texture of the mannequin held the same color without details.
  787.
  788. Visible at first, there is slash on his upper left arm, a red liquid oozing out.
  789. The right lower arm was twisted in a non natural angle, with spots of purple skin around the angle.
  790.
  791. "Also, it is Worth to mention that this mannequin has artificial magical circuits, done with orichalum coils. There are 3 wounds to treat.
  792.
  793. Now, good luck ! You have all the Tools in the drawer. Also consider this mannequin as a human too."
  794. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  795. [13:48] Sonya Lange nods. at something.
  796. (Sonya Lange)
  797. [13:50] Sonya Lange asks, "Who should go first...?"
  798. [13:50] Stede Emeraldi says, "Three wounds to treat.."
  799. [13:50] Svengalf Sandsker says, "You can all do together."
  800. [13:51] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I have.... Placed the wounds, for multiple doctors to intervene at the same itme."
  801. [13:51] Sonya Lange says, "Mhm."
  802. [13:51] Stede Emeraldi says, "There's two visible, plainly, the third is either internal of a physical nature, or perhaps magical, going subtley unnoticed.."
  803. [13:52] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Remember, it has circuits. How can you visualize someone's circuits again ?"
  804. [13:54] Sonya approaches the desk and retrieves soap, first. She washes her hands with the provided soap and water first, important for practice even if the patient is not real.
  805.
  806. She then takes her staff in one hand and reaches out to 'Greg' with the other, pushing a gentle stream of metaphysically-attuned mana into the dummy's circuits, attempting to visualize their state.
  807. (Sonya Lange)
  808. [14:01] As Sonya attempts to push the metaphysically attuned mana into his body… Nothing really visually happens at first. Sonya must be a bit more specific on how she wants to diagnose the dummy.
  809.
  810. The lapine's eyes flare in blue, and winces : he can see through the flesh the mana stored inside the artificial circuits to push the foreign metaphysical mana.
  811.
  812. "Mh. Sonya, two small reminders : mana circuits don't like foreign mana, specially if it's attuned. Trying to push some neutral, unattuned mana, will be better to sense the circuits.
  813. Eventually... if you want to see them, remember that you have to close your eyes and be in contact with a convergence point on their circuits, like the chest, temple, neck..."
  814. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  815. [14:01] Sonya Lange says, "Mm..."
  816. [14:01] Sonya Lange says, "Right, sorry."
  817. [14:01] Saiya Emeraldi peered from over the table.
  818. (Saiya Emeraldi)
  819. [14:03] Attempt two, then.
  820.
  821. She's not exactly an ether mage, but neutrality is something she can accomplish, with focus. With wounds at both arms, the chest seems to be the best convergence point. She closes her eyes and puts a hand lightly to the dummy's chest, gently allowing unattuned mana to flow through it.
  822. (Sonya Lange)
  823. [14:06] Malibu nervously watches the scene unfold. It's like anything she learned and studied for to this day just disappeared out of her head.
  824. (Malibu)
  825. [14:07] The fox would follow suit, cleaning his hands and forearms before getting close enough to tend to the du-
  826.
  827. Greg, it was named Greg and it was to be treated as a person. The most interest was paid to the slash wound, it was relevant to his desire to practice his stitch work. Getting in to the perception that was asked for, the fox would disinfect the area around the wound before applying a decent amount of lax essence, murmuring a few awkward words of comfort. The jar was then nudged towards the other students.
  828.
  829. Now he just had to thread the needle...
  830. (Asa)
  831. [14:09] In Truth : any magi, as long they are not attuned to Holy or Occult mana, is able to weave ether in their rawest form. The proof ? Most of magi awakening can accomplish one simple cantrip : ripple the environnemental mana around and rely on their essence to strengthen their body.
  832.
  833. And this time, Sonya can sense the dummy's circuits projected in her closed eyes. Thousands of lines enwebbing each other. But as she prods the circuits, she can notice some lime colored mana stuck on the mannequin's left shoulder. Looking closer, Sonya could see a nature attuned seed that was laid upon a key point. It was leeching the mana passing by this node, trying to grow like a tick.
  834.
  835. The lapine observes Asa, nodding to the hygiene precaution.
  836.
  837. "Good to both of you, Hygiene is important yes. Now if you want some Tools, there is everything in this drawer."
  838.
  839. He taps said drawer. Likely it has the needles and suture thread.
  840. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  841. [14:12] Sonya Lange asks, "Hmm. Are any of you biological mages? I can handle this, but, best to find the best qualified, right?"
  842. [14:12] Good! The fox was just wondering where he could find it. With a gentle nod of thanks, he'd dig through the cabinet for needle and thread. "Do any of you need another implement while I'm here?" He'd ask over his shoulder.
  843.
  844. He was already pushing thread through eye as he spoke. It took a few attempts, mostly because of his nerves.
  845. (Asa)
  846. [14:13] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I will only intervene if in crucial need."
  847. [14:13] Sonya Lange says, "Of the students, of course."
  848. [14:13] Sonya Lange says, "Then..."
  849. [14:14] Asa says, "Just nature in that direction, not the most advanced either."
  850. [14:14] Sonya Lange says, "Well... you have the sutures to do, right? Wouldn't want to disrupt your focus."
  851. [14:15] Stede Emeraldi says, "... I am indeed a nature magi."
  852. [14:15] Asa nods. He was immensely thankful for not being given an oppertunity to mess up.
  853. (Asa)
  854. [14:15] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Feel free to share the work"
  855. [14:15] Stede Emeraldi says, "But is the same mana the best to counteract it? Sometimes.."
  856. [14:16] Stede Emeraldi offered a hand to her.
  857. (Stede Emeraldi)
  858. [14:16] Stede Emeraldi says, "Take my hand, you can pass my magic along to where you need it."
  859. [14:16] Stede Emeraldi floated overhead, so as.. to not obstruct her in doing so.
  860. (Stede Emeraldi)
  861. [14:17] Svengalf Sandsker says, "You can indeed grant a bit of your mana for such."
  862. [14:17] Svengalf Sandsker says, "But also, don't forget, there are multiple solutions in such problems ! You won't always be accompagnied."
  863. [14:18] Sonya Lange says, "Of course."
  864. [14:20] Sonya tapped her staff, manifesting a complex weave above the dummy's left shoulder of illusionary light. Connected to the circuits, a green-tinted shadow at a junction seemed to dim the light around it.
  865.
  866. "This is... what we're working with, sort of."
  867.
  868. She guided Stede's offered hand to the represented area, simultaneously probing with a slight ripple of sound magic to identify if the mana-affliction had a physical source or only had to be dealt with on the level of magic.
  869. (Sonya Lange)
  870. [14:21] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Asa, I think you can start doing your suture."
  871. [14:22] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Also there is still this twisted limb if someone wants to try."
  872. [14:22] Shit... okay... cooking... think of this as cooking. You know how to do that.
  873.
  874. Malibu goes to clean her hands properly and thoroughly with water and soap. Cooking 101.
  875.
  876. Malibu looks at the turned arm and points at it while looking at Svengalf.
  877.
  878. "I- I'm sorry.. how much can we learn again by applying mana..? Can I tell the state of the bone here by doing that again..?"
  879.
  880. Her nervousness is SEEPING through her face, speech and gestures even though she does her best to hide it.
  881. (Malibu)
  882. [14:25] Left her an open hand, floating above - he coursed his nature magic through steadily with no set direction, so that she might sculpt it to the needs ahead.
  883.
  884. She directed him to the area - not quite what he had in mind, but it would suffice.
  885.
  886. He felt something latching on, into his own mana reserve trying to pull it away greedily to grow - but, he instead pulled back, and instead of allowing said affliction to grow, stole the energy from said affliction - whilst blocking out the area around it with his own neutral and basic ether.
  887.
  888. Ideally this would cause it to shrink, completely away - or perhaps to a point it would wither on it's own.
  889.
  890. "I see - I.. intended you to direct the flow.. slightly more manually.. Miss."
  891. (Stede Emeraldi)
  892. [14:27] The lapine turns towards Malibu. He thinks for a bit.
  893.
  894. "Usually when you prod someone's circuits by pouring your mana, you mostly visualize their circuits. Altough, if there is a breakage of circuits, you can notice this. As for the bone…"
  895.
  896. He looks towards the arm, visibly bent in a place where it should not.
  897.
  898. "You could try making an incision, then use your sound magic as a way of echolocalisation inside the injury to get a feedback on what's Under. Altough you could just do it in the typical way."
  899.
  900. There is then a vibration on his chest. He lakes a device from the Pocket, and then flutters his sight.
  901.
  902. "Oh dear, the second class starts in 30 minutes… we have WAY over extended, tsk ! Do you want to continue the surgery attempt ? We can Always do some practice later."
  903. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  904. [14:28] Malibu says, "Ah.. that makes sense..."
  905. [14:28] Sonya Lange exclaims, "Sorry, wanted to... figure out more about it first, but.. you work fast!"
  906. [14:28] Sonya Lange says, "Um... Good, job with that though."
  907. [14:28] Sonya Lange says, "Without nature mana... hm..."
  908. [14:28] Stede Emeraldi says, "... There was a time I'd caused a field of Saniskriti to meld with fire crystals, absorbing sunlight and stockpiling.. into both."
  909. [14:28] Sonya Lange says, "Sounds energetic."
  910. [14:29] Stede Emeraldi says, "It was quite boring, beyond the need to link each plant individually, directing their flow."
  911. [14:29] The lapine looks at the students.
  912.
  913. "I suggest in the end, we cease the class for today. And that we host a fourth class for medical practice directly. Does it sound good for everyone?"
  914. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  915. [14:29] Malibu says, "Awww.."
  916. [14:29] Sonya Lange says, "Mm... If I can find the time, sure. Going to be busy more soon."
  917. [14:29] Malibu says, "Yeah, that'd be for the best, I guess. I'd have time to.. be more calm."
  918. [14:30] Svengalf Sandsker nods towards Malibu.
  919. (Svengalf Sandsker)
  920. [14:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I can sense some agitation yes.."
  921. [14:30] Malibu says, "I'm sorry.."
  922. [14:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Perhaps today, it was too much for everyone at once to swallow."
  923. [14:30] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "And don't worry !"
  924. [14:30] Sonya Lange says, "...would it have been best to try to interrupt its absorption, move and remove it... hm."
  925. [14:31] The fox would approach the doll to make an attempt at a suture, but stops! This was good in some senses, he'd have more time to practice! The needle was de-threaded and replaced exactly where it was found. He gives Svengalf and the rest of the students a nervous smile.
  926.
  927. "Hm, that may be for the best if we'll be running into your next class."
  928. (Asa)
  929. [14:31] Malibu asks, "Y-Yeah... Hold on until then okay, Greg?"
  930. [14:31] Malibu says, "You'll see Rose soon don't worry."
  931. [14:31] Hina scrutinizes the room, taking in every variable of objects that existed before her. She glances as if she'd never seen the room before; surreal to her very eyes - she needed to focus on something, anything. Would that help her have some clarity? Likely not.
  932.
  933. As Sven procures 'Greg' from the closet, the Kitsune passively watches with widened eyes, focusing as much as she can on the specific object sprawled across the desk.
  934.
  935. First, her eyes lay upon the left arm's wound. A slash of the upper bicep, bleeding - the shiny red ichor is brighter than usual due to the effects of Fantasia. Second, she takes a glimpse of the right arm, drifting her sight towards the lower forearm where it was twisted, and broken with bruises surrounding the rooms.
  936.
  937. The girl watches Sonya attempt to lay in her mana to inspect the artificial circuits of the practice dummy. Sven's pointers seemed to help her utilize raw mana for the ambition.
  938.
  939. Shewatches Asa, then. The other Kitsune words at stabilizing his hands for the procedure and spread the lax essence around to numb the wound, to a degree, prepping it for suturing.
  940.
  941. "I'm not," Hina says in reply to being a biological mage. She only could use the prowess natural to Kitsune - fire.
  942.
  943. It was difficult to focus - the surrounding of many people, many voices. All senses heightened made the noise feel intense, causing Hina to feel tensed up, herself. She looks away from the scene, cringing some, but despite that, she forces herself to turn back away - the poor, troubled teen was doing her best to maintain a focus.
  944.
  945. Though, when Sven inquires? The girl immediately nods her head! She wanted the overwhelming senses of her surroundings to cease for the time being, so she'd agree to a fourth class. Hopefully by then these effects would subside!
  946. (Hina Lam)
  947. [14:33] Sonya Lange exclaims, "Um... Thanks for the lesson!"
  948. [14:33] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "You're welcome !"
  949. [14:33] Malibu says, "A-Ah.. same. Thank you for your time Mister Svengalf."
  950. [14:33] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Sorry if it was a bit chaotic at the end."
  951. [14:34] Svengalf Sandsker says, "But I hope, you all appreciate this class."
  952. [14:34] Hina Lam says, "It's okay, Sven. It happens. I look forward to the last class."
  953.
