  1. Hello friends.
  2.
  3. Recently, there's been a huge influx of new names and faces in this group, so just to keep things simple and easy to interact with (for both new people and those who've been around for ages), please can we all just stick to some simple guidelines:
  4.
  5. 1) No unrelated (i.e. not directly Dota 2 related) pictures as posts, comments, replies, etc. Even if there's a small Dota 2 spin/reference on the pictures, it's not allowed. This isn't 9gag, and even if you find something hilarious, that doesn't mean it's acceptable. This obviously doesn't include *actual* Dota 2 media (examples: http://i.minus.com/iIM7rSdjIKZly.gif, http://i.minus.com/ib19R0RoPIXYNX.gif), which is acceptable; it's only stuff which is unrelated, or tied together to Dota 2 in a very minor/insignificant way. An example of an unrelated picture would be a Nicholas Cage meme picture with a Dota 2 logo on his forehead, that's not ok.
  6.
  7. 1.1) No cellphone pictures/videos of ingame footage where the sole videographic purpose is just the in-game footage
  8.
  9. 2) No trolling. Sarcasm is acceptable in small doses, attempting to troll everyone constantly is not acceptable.
  10.
  11. 3) No sexism or racism. Pretty self-explanatory.
  12.
  13. 4) Don't be a dick. Let me say this again. Don't be a dick. This is not your Twitter account, we're not here to all bitch about some feeding Morphling we played with last night. Posting other people's accounts, saying how they were dicks to you or ruined your game, any kind of behaviour like that, no, don't do it. You're welcome to report people in-game, but this is not Valve's public forum to call people out.
  14.
  15. 5) Pins. If there's something significant that you'd like pinned, we'll try our best to accommodate you. Facebook only allows a single post pinned per group, so obviously preference will be given to large competitions/events/upcoming coverage/etc.
  16.
  17. 6) Spoilers. I'm guilty of this at times, but let's keep all sort of spoilers for big matches under wraps. Make the opening line "SPOILER ALERT" with some space (using -'s or #'s) so that the result is not instantly visible, or make the post phrased in a result-free context (e.g. "Discussion about Na'Vi vs Alliance Finals!").
  18.
  19. 7) Don't repost stuff. Before you post something on the group, check that it hasn't already been posted, and if it's old, please don't post it.
  20.
  21. 8) Don't advertise stuff without asking an admin (Jon Atwell; or Ben Steenhuisen) for permission. This includes giveaways.
  22.
  23. If you feel some comment or post is infringing on these rules, feel free to report the post, or tag me and I'll have a look at it when I can. I can't guarantee I'll look at every post, and I can't guarantee I'll agree with you, but you're welcome to tag me to check stuff out.
