switching to vtmb official v1.1 from v1.2

everything i knew about versions in vampire: the masquerade - bloodlines was a lie

official version 1.1 for any% is perfectly acceptable AND let's you make use of the infinite experience glitch: in the character selection screen, you can assign starting stats, select "base" and reselect the same clan from the drop down menu, hit next, and the stats you assigned will be saved, and you get more points to spend. you can do this as many times as you like, until you have a full section of attributes (such as a full mental attributes perception, intelligence, and wits) and cannot spend anymore

for any% this means no more leveling up, level 5 obfuscate from the get go, more stamina to survive hits on the elizabeth dane, more strength to defeat andrei and ming xiao, and lockpicking with less bloodbuff need. totally worth it, it's faster

for all quests, i have to see just how broken the other quests are. if it's all good, then i can abuse the experience glitch and have a safer all quest route from the get go

one issue v1.1 does have is no intro skip button. putting vchar_skip_intro "1" in the config doesn't work, the version doesn't recognize the command. instead you have to put it the "vskip_intro" command manually before start, then it acts as normal. a fine concession

exciting stuff, but it also makes me mad that i blindly trusted the choices of those before me. it's kind of an issue with the larger vtmb crowd that claims you absolutely must use the unofficial patches, because official patches are bugged and unplayable. as chops said at the end of my first 1.1 run today:
