This is the fidget toy for writers, and I’m not just saying that. Let me explain.

I’ve personally gone through at least three different fidget cubes, including the official one, all of which eventually broke due to poor build quality and my extensive use. I also have several other fidgets, which I do enjoy, but this one absolutely takes the cake.

I’ve long been a keyboard enthusiast, having a Cherry MX Blue switch mechanical keyboard myself. I found this fidget when I went shopping for a key switch tester because I was interested in exploring all the different options out there. I sent my friend a link to the test strip I was considering buying, and mentioned that it might make a great fidget. He instantly responded with just this: a key switch tester made to be a fidget. So, of course, I instantly bought the thing. Now, here I am.

At the very minimum, this toy not only enables you as a writer to experience the relaxation of the act of writing while away from your keyboard, but it also allows you to explore the various options that are out there as far as what kind of keyboard you’d like to use in the future. Mechanical keyboards used to be very expensive, but nowadays, if you go looking, you can find many that are perfectly fine for typing at a very fair price. Mechanical keyboards are the crème de la crème of build quality when it comes to keyboards, so you can and should expect whatever you buy to last for a very long time.

Now, that brings me to this toy. This thing is sturdy. Really sturdy. I’m not really sure how I could go about breaking it apart from maybe throwing it as hard as I can against something. Even then I can’t really be certain it would break. The switches are just that: mechanical key switches. Companies that are separate from the company making this toy primarily make these high quality switches to sell to mechanical keyboard manufacturers so they themselves can produce high quality mechanical keyboards. Therein lies magic of this brilliant piece.

If you love to fidget, and you love to write, I’m sure you’ll absolutely love this. There are all kinds of creative ways to play with it, and I’m sure that if you get one you’ll discover some too. It looks great on a desk, as well.

I approached them having nothing more to point to than something I wanted to create, and they’ve been nothing short of wonderful. They’re small, and they deserve your love. Just like their toys.
