  1. faq about moving to speedrun.com
  2. this is a community vote to determine whether or not to move the Super Metroid leaderboards, currently located at deertier.com, to speedrun.com. hopefully this faq can address any immediate concerns you may have while remaining impartial to either option.
  3.
  4. Q: How will the voting process be carried out?
  5. A: The voter will send a private message to Shaktool (a bot created by total) on discord, including your deertier name and your vote. Shaktool will crosscheck your discord name with your deertier name, and tally your votes privately. The crosscheck of deertier vs discord name will be made public, but not the actual vote.
  6.
  7. Q: When can I vote?
  8. A: Currently Shaktool isn't setup to take votes, give total about a week to get it going. Another announcement will be made when its ready.
  9.
  10. Q: When will the votes be tallied?
  11. A: Sunday the 13th of November, 11:59 CET. A day afterwords will be given to the public deertier/discord name crosscheck, then the results of the vote will be made public.
  12.
  13. Q: What if I don't have a discord account, or a deertier submission?
  14. A: Make one or don't vote.
  15.
  16. Q: When will the migration happen, if the vote carries?
  17. A: TBD
  18.
  19. Q: How will the migration be facilitated?
  20. A: Manual moving of times/data, most likely.
  21.
  22. Q: What if the move happens, and I don't want my time to be on speedrun.com?
  23. A: Feel free to make a speedrun.com account to delete it.
  24.
  25. Q: If the move happens, how are the various categories going to be handled in speedrun.com?
  26. A: TBD, secondary to the move.
  27.
  28. Q: If the move happens, what happens to deertier.com?
  29. A: That's up to Mr. Landmaster, the current admin for deertier, but there's no reason the history of deertier can't be preserved, a la wayback machine : https://web.archive.org/web/*/deertier.com
  30. In addition, it would not be hard to (should people want it) retain deertier for submissions, and have a bot automatically submit times to speedrun.com on behalf of the runner. The reverse would be much more troublesome, mainly because its unlikely that Mr. Landmaster would change deertier to do that.
  31.
  32. Q: If the move happens, who will moderate the speedrun.com leaderboards?
  33. A: TBD, but at a minimum, at least some of the original mods of deertier.com
