  1. FACEIT MATCHMAKING RULES : CS:GO(5v5)

  4. By entering FACEIT matchmaking, the player/team fully agrees to all of the rules without reserve.
  5. Always and only use the english language on the FACEIT website and on our CS:GO Servers.
  6. When in doubt about any aspect of the ruling, or if you have any questions related to FACEIT, have only your Team CAPTAIN contact an admin before you or your team does anything.
  7. An Admins decisions must be respected and executed without delay.

  40. Chapter 1 – Matchmaking Structure
  41. Article 1. Matchmaking format:
  42. Our Matchmaking uses the following format:
  43. All matches are Bo1. Due to latency being an important quality factor in online gaming and especially in FPS games, players from North America ("NA") are forbidden to participate in European ("EU") cups, and the Oceania cups. Players from EU are forbidden to participate in NA cups and Oceania Cups. Players from Oceania are forbidden to participate in the European ("EU") and North America ("NA") cups.

  45. Article 2. Match formats
  46. This chapter describes the match format which will be used during FACEIT Matchmaking. The format will not be changed.

  48. Single-game match
  49. A single-game match is played in a single game and opposes two teams of five players. A game is played on one map in two times of 15 in-game rounds. For each half-time, teams play alternatively terrorist and counter-terrorist, and score one point by winning one in-game round. The winner of a game is the first team which scores 16 in-game rounds. The winner of a match is the team that has won one game. In a single-game match a tie, both teams have 15 in-game rounds, if possible. If one team scores 16 in-game rounds the match end and the remaining rounds are not to be played. If after 30 rounds both teams are tied there is a Overtime which consists of a Bo5 Format. If after five rounds there is not a winner there will be a switch of sides and another Bo5 will begin.

  68. All matches will be played on FACEIT's servers. If this does not happen, you risk a chance to being banned from the tournament.

  85. Chapter 3 – Match procedure
  86. Article 7. Before the match
  87. The team captain is the person in charge of his team toward the Live Support Admins. He has to do the server location and map choice before a match, official complaints or any other problems to Live Support Admins.

  89. Location choice for matchmaking
  90. a) Team A removes a location
  91. b) Team B removes a location
  92. c) Final location is where the game will be played
  93. The amount of location removals is dependent on the region you play in.
  94. All players must play in the location chosen or will receive a ban according to our policies and procedures.

  96. Map choice for matchmaking
  97. For a game in single-game match the map choice must respect the following procedure:
  98. a) Team B removes one of the 7 maps
  99. b) Team A removes one of the 6 remaining maps
  100. c) Team B removes one of the 5 remaining maps
  101. d) Team A removes one of the 4 remaining maps
  102. e) Team B removes one of the 3 remaining maps
  103. f) Team A removes one of the 2 remaining maps
  104. g) Final map is the map that will be played

  116. Article 8. Play Button/Ip Notification
  117. The notification indicates the server location and map to be played at which players are requested to be present in order to know where to connect. This notification is described in the room page and is provided once the voting has been finished by the Captains of both teams. Players are advised to be present and ready

  119. Article 9. Warmup/Match Start
  120. The match will start when all players join the servers and both captains !ready. If after ten minutes all players are not on the server please have one of the Captains cancel the match in order to be able to queue into our system again.
  121. The sides(CT/T) are chosen via a knife round, once Captains !ready, when the knife round has been won, the winning Captain can choose !stay or !switch.
  122. Then Captains must !ready again in order to officially start the match.

  124. Article 10. During the match
  125. Voice communication
  126. Voice communication tools as Ventrilo, Mumble and Teamspeak are allowed. In case that servers are provided by FACEIT players are obliged to use them.

  128. Match Media
  129. Players are obliged to record their in-game demo unless the recording causes performance issues. Streaming on your personal twitch account is also allowed and is promoted on our site through our twitch application.

  131. Communication
  132. During an official match, players may not communicate with people not involved in the match. People involved in the match are players, and our Live Support Admins.

  134. Match stopped
  135. Players are not expected to leave an official game in progress unless it is authorized by the match format or it has been expressly authorized by the Live Support Admin. Between two half-time of a game players are not expected to leave the game.

  137. Match interrupted
  138. If a match is involuntary interrupted (player crash, server crash, network cuts,…) the Live Support Admin may decide to replay the match according to the following rules:
  139. If a problem takes place before the first kill in the first round, the server will be restarted and both teams will replay knife again.
  140. If a problem takes place during the round and the concerned outcome of the round can’t be determined or guessed, the round is not taken into account, the half-time will be continued with the numbers of remaining rounds, and the scores on the interrupted half-time will be added to the new half-time.
  141. If the problem took place after the end of the first round, the half-time will be continued with the number of remaining rounds, and the scores of the interrupted half-time will be added to the new half-time.
  142. If one of the players crashed or is disconnected, he must come back as quickly as possible.

  144. Article 11. After the match
  145. Investigation request
  146. When a team estimates being a victim of rule violations during a match, players are compelled not to stop the game by any means and to properly finish it. Once the match is over, the team captain may officially ask for an investigation to tournament officials. It is strongly advised to provide valuable information that may help the tournament director in his investigation. Unjustified and repetitive use of this right may be sanctioned.

  148. Score validation
  149. If there is an issue with the match and a manual half-time must be administered by the Live Support Admin, Captains must provide a screen shot of the final score of the second half in order to determine the win for the team.

  151. Chapter 4 – Rules and violations
  152. Article 12. Forbidden in-game actions
  153. The following actions are strictly prohibited during a game and will result in round loss (the amount is determined by the tournament director) which will be deducted at the end of the match, and a warning:
  154. Abusing the pause function in the match.
  155. Any form of external script is forbidden.
  156. Using bugs which change the game principle (i.e. spawn bugs) is illegal.
  157. Moving through walls, floors and roofs is strictly forbidden. This also includes skywalking.
  158. Planting bombs so that they cannot be defused is illegal. This does not include plants where multiple players are needed to defuse.
  159. Boosting with the help of team mates is allowed in general, but it is forbidden in places where the textures, walls, ceilings, floors become transparent or penetrable.
  160. - “flashbugs” are forbidden
  161. - “mapswimming” or “Floating” is illegal.
  162. - “pixelalking” is illegal (sitting or standing on invisible map edges).
  163. - using 16bit graphics.
  164. All 3rd party software that isn't allowed by the game publisher and that can give an unfair advantage to a player or team are classed as cheating.

  166. Article 13. Sanction
  167. A player may be cautioned and receive a ban if he commits any of the following offences:
  168. Refuses to follow Live Support Admin instructions.
  169. Arrives late to the match.
  170. Leaves the match before it has finished
  171. Shows dissent by word or action towards other players.
  172. Uses insulting language and/or gestures towards other players.
  173. Is guilty of unsporting behavior in a match.
  174. Mislead or dupe any Live Support Admins

  176. Chapter 5 - Other
  177. Article 15. Anti-cheat
  178. All FACEIT Servers have our own in house Anti-Cheat enabled on all of our servers that you play on.
  179. FACEIT's servers will be recording all the matches. These demos are in your stats page in the form of GOTV demos uploaded to your profile with the room page as well.
  180. Players can request a protest if they feel their opponent is cheating. This is done by the player submitting a demo report with the following written information:
  181. - The link to the GOTV Demo from the match in question
  182. - Suspected type of cheat with a short explanation.
  183. - Time stamps on when the suspicious activity took place
  184. Our demo team will look at the demo and make a decision based on what they see.
  185. Players are obliged to record their in-game demo unless the recording causes performance issues.

  187. Article 16. Stand-ins
  188. At this moment FACEIT does not allow stand-ins for FACEIT matchmaking. We supply a bot if a player leaves during the match in order to hopefully give the team with one less player a chance to still win the match.

  190. Article 17. Team names
  191. Please fill in your team name accordingly. It cannot contain any racist or any other language which might be considered as insulting. Team captains ignoring this rule can end up with a ban from matchmaking.

  194. Players must join the game server with the name they have registered on FACEIT, to avoid confusion for our admins, and your opponents. It cannot contain any racist or any other language which might be considered as insulting.
