Ethics is a subject hat won't be of any use to your career even if you learn it. It won't come up often in your daily lives like History or Geography, nor is it practical like English. There's basically no job that will require anything you learn in this class. If I had to say when it might come in useful, it'd be when death approaches you.

Ethics is most often used when you're all alone. When you lose everything to rely on, when humans are about to meet their end, they seek salvation from a higher being; "What is religion?". When your relationships with others don't work out. When your jealousy and envy over others stop you from enjoying life; "Thinking how to lead a better life". You're constantly in a dilemma, depressed... You question why you still live. Philosophers have pondered forever; "What is happiness?". "Men must be like this", "Women can't do that". Who decided that? "The topic of gender". "I want to die...". "What is life?".

What do you think? You don't necessarily need to know these things, but don't you think it'd be better if you did? You might think ethics is optional in life, but in reality it's compulsory. You might not quite understand as of yet, but I'll thoroughly teach it to you throughout the year; Pleased to meet you all. We now begin ethics.
