BACKGROUND : childhood, how they discovered their love for music/performing, becoming a trainee, etc.
mari's parents met when her father, sungmin was in japan. he was there on vacation when they met and it was cheesily love at first sight. after an extended vacation on sungmin's part and with the approval of her parents, they got hitched and moved back to sungmin's home town of busan, south korea. fast forward to mari being in the picture, she went everywhere with her mother. this included her mother's job, and being a wardrobe stylist, mari's mom worked closely with many musicians as they would be presented on stage. when her mother couldn't attend to her, she sat by herself where she would be doing one of two things: messing around playing games on an ipad or just staring at the fast movement around her. it was through clinging to her mother for three years that she discovered music. she saw the behind the scenes of many photoshoots and watched stages from tv monitors and was constantly surrounded by music and the art of making a performance. she naturally gravitated to it and it was only enhanced as she got older and could understand more. she has the best memories and home videos of the musicians her mother worked for teaching her their dances or showing her different songs. ****

shortly, mari is the odd one of the group. half of the time she's yelling about random stuff, teasing her members, or obnoxiously flailing her body around and the other half she's staring off into space either deep in thought or just purposely not listening because she doesn't want to. you may think it's the fact that she has two very distinct sides to herself that make her odd but in fact she just comes across a bit unusual but interesting might be the nicer way to put it. probably the most prominent part of mari is her obnoxious side because well, it's obnoxious. she's not shy at all and will not think twice about cheering for her team members or going up to any person on the street. she's good at plastering a big smile on her face and making someone feel cheery. she's instantly comfortable in any situation. all of this, of course, comes with her big mouth, which then comes with her teasing remarks and unnecessary comments. a lot of the time it's funny but other times, it can be cold. it's all fun and games though and she'll only say things like this or act coldly to people she's extremely close with. but because she's not shy, many people end up seeing this sid of her out of context, making her ******
