- Fun tidbits about the P5 spirits from: your local fucking nerd me Main
- Morgana is a small pikachu, referring to the fact he is played by pikachu's VA in japanese.
- Morgana/Pikachu spawns with a Killing Edge
- Which references both Morgana's weapon of choice, swords, and the fact that Morgana is the only pary member to learn the high crit/low damage 'Lucky Punch' line of spells
- He figts alongside an Incineroar, who represents his persona Zorro. Incineroar spawns with an Ogre Club and uses it repeatedly, representing Zorro's leaning towards Garu Spells
- notably, morgana is the only spirit besides the group battle to be fought on Mementos, which references his orgins and desire to explore it over the course of the game
- Ryuji is captain falcon, which both resembles his thief outfit but also his previous affiliation with the track and field club
- He spawns with a homerun bat, referencing his weapon of choice (blunt objects)
- his persona, captain kidd is represented by a mii gunner dressed as a pirate
- He battles you on Luigis mansion, i cant figure out why
- Ann is represented by a red pallete ZSS, who is also blonde, wears red spandex, and wields a whip
- her persona, Carmine is represented by a red peach with a fire flower
- referencing her leaning toward agi spells
- she battles you in the interior portion of Castle Siege, referencing the first dungeon of the game, Kamoshida's Palace
- Yusuke is Chrom, who he shares both an english AND japanese VA with
- His persona Goemon is represented by Dedede, who also wears a kimono (and uh.. i guess the hammer kinda looks like a pipe?)
- He's also assisted by an assist trophy of vince, which references Yusuke's skill at painting
- The stage, Suzaku Castle is meant to represent the 2nd palace, Madarame Palace, a japanese art themed museum
- Makoto is accompanied by an Invisible Wario spamming Wario Bike, referencing the fact that her persona, Johanna is a riderless motorbike
- Futaba fights you in Mushroomy Kingdom, referencing the Egyptian Desert themed 4th dungeon, Futaba Palace
- She is the only phantom thief not accompanied by another fighter, instead her UFO-like persona is represented by Dr Wily
- Boss Galagas also spawn constantly, referencing the same thing
- notably, she's the only phantom thief to not have Last Surprise as her battle theme.
- Haru is a Villager because of her hobby of gardening. She uses all the vegetable and plant related moves. Her Stage, Omega Tomodachi Life, references how Haru's social link and gardening events occur on the school roof
- Her persona, Milady is represented by Daisy who spaawns with a super scope. referencing the gatling gun and gun skills that Milady has
- Akechi is Marth with a beam sword, referencing his weapon of choice.
- His persona Robin Hood is represented by Pit
- He battles you on Fourside which references
- The unique property of the Casino Palace, which replicates the entire city around it rather than just the building. A critical factor in the plan to deceive Akechi at the turning point of the game
- during the battle, your controls will randomly reverse
- This may represent Akechi's ability to induce frenzy in shadows, which makes them go beserk and when usedo n a persons shadow, causes the mental shutdown cases.
- His battle theme is Rivers in The Desert, which plays for certain endgame bosses but not his fight
- The Phantom Thieves battle is all of the main fighters from above, sans akechi on the Mementos Stage with the OP theme playing
- The main fighter, joker only shows up once everyone else is defeated
- he randomly gets FS so he can spam all out attack
- for some reason, Daybreak parts spawn at a high rate during this fight
- The only thing i got is that this references the final blow that Joker deals to the Final Boss, which is a bullet to the head from his Ult. Persona's oversized gun
- Both the Velvet Twins and Igor spirit battles take place in Kalos Pokemon League, which resembles the Velvet room.
- Both have the song Aria of the Soul, the velvet room theme remix, playing.
- Even though the battle against the twins in the game proper uses Rivers in the Desert
- The fact that its a timed battle referenced the fact that Justine and Caroline will use an All Out Attack and insta wipe you if you take too long to make them switch phases during the battle
- the sudden damage might be bc their fight was bonkers hard
- (in my spirit board run they SD'd so )
- Igor's 3 ridleys may be a reference to the Archangel Minibosses before the final battle, as Igor doesnt spawn until you beat them.
- Him being robin may reference the compendium? idk its a stretch
- You start the battle with 300 damage but its immediately healed by the fairy you spawn with, referencing the circumstances at the beginning of the final act of the game where the Thieves are at the brink of being wiped from existence, but are revived.
- thats all folks
- im so mad that theres no P4 spirits Greninja as Yosuke's Jiraiya was PERFECt
