- +indamicks __ What the highly active and virulent "flat Earth" disinformation campaign is doing is *seeking to appeal to a segment of the audience who already have certain thinking flaws* that make them vulnerable to believing (or at least paying attention to) the bullsh!t being spun (and not reacting in revulsion or ridicule). Next week it will be something new - and it too will be presented in such a way so as to focus on those thinking flaws. The "60-mile high trees" presentation was some real "Dallas Golbuggery" that targeted those with a low visual IQ. Also - because these people are providing such low-hanging fruit they are open to "debunkers" coming along to "debunk" them. All that does is keep the focus and activity going. Meanwhile Google/YouTube pay less out to the content creators than the advertisers are paying to display ads to their audiences. (Of course - assuming all of that is above board etc.)
