  1. "Oooh, Ara, you're so fiiine/ You make it look like the sun don't shine/ Sooo Ara, I'm taking the chance/ I'm asking will you go to the dance... with me." Ian pulled a certain grin from somewhere and plucked a happy note over the enjambment. Dutifully, Ara clapped happily a second or two late.
  2. "Sure!" She flashed a pearly, cheerleadery smile. She hugged him quickly, then pulled away, "I gotta go talk to May about cheerleader stuff, TTYL!" She pranced off.
  3. "Well." Ian looked to Glade and Mal, leaning on the corridor wall, "That was easy."
  4. "That girl is dumber than a bag of dirt." Glade offered.
  5. "A bag of dirt with a tragic learning disability." Mal added.
  6. "Pfft. She's a cheerleader, she doesn't have to be smart."
  7.
  8. "It doesn't bother you?" Tiana threw a look over her shoulder to the table where Eddie and the gang were dining.
  9. "What doesn't?" Renee's forkful of gross mystery meat paused halfway to her mouth.
  10. "Ian and Ara, duh." Ara was, at this moment in time, hugging Ian goodbye.
  11. "No of course not why would it?" Renee rammed the presumably edible forkful into her mouth and chewed in a manner that was totally nonchalant.
  12. "You're the one that's always saying he's smarter than he looks. He's kind of disproving your theory." Francine pointed out.
  13. "Ian is free to take whichever idiot he wants to the dance." Renee looked decidedly towards Amy excitedly saying something or other to Eddie.
  14. "You just wish it was this one." Tiana pointed at Renee with her fork.
  15.
  16. "Meanwhile, with everyone important."
  17. "Glade, don't be weird." Oliver sighed.
  18. Glade put down the cup she'd used to amplify her voice, "Says you."
  19. "Looks like things are going... basically well with Amy." Mal hazarded.
  20. "Yeah, she's great." Eddie stabbed vaguely towards his meal while he looked off in the direction of Amy's table. She noticed and waved, and he waved back.
  21. "You're forking napkins, bro."
  22. "Whuh?" Eddie looked back to the table to see his fork was tines-deep in the napkin dispenser, "Oh."
  23. "Harrowing. Love is one hell of a drug." Mal shook his head.
  24. "Please, it's hardly love. Who even is this Amy girl? She's not even one of your close friends." Glade gesticulated.
  25. Ian fiddled with his goofy hat, "Hey, don't get down on him, the boy's on cloud nine, as he well deserves to be. And I'm going to the dance with a cheerleader," He puffed up his chest proudly, "How are you bozos doing?"
  26. "Still not going."
  27. "Still going with Renee. As friends."
  28. "I'm definitely going to ask Tess to go with me today. Either today or tomorrow." Oliver paused, "Definitely before Friday."
  29. "Check and mate." Ian's gaze fell back on Eddie, whose fork was once again lazily and unintentionally assaulting the napkins, "Dude, we are going to have a talk about the use of sharp things while gazing dreamily at girls."
