  7. Apparently this gag comes from the Yokoyama Brothers, a Japanese "music show" group.
  8. One of the members, 横山アキラ/Akira Yokoyama who was said to have been taught how to disassemble violins at a young age (though I might be wrong), grabbed what looked like a "musical saw", which is an instrument shaped like a saw, and tapped on it with a percussion mallet while bending the saw, which makes the audience hear the phrase "I am an idiot" in Japanese. Akira later clarified that he used an actual saw and not a musical saw for the gag.

  10. Also apparently, one of the other members (横山裕/Hiroshi Yokoyama) typed out "おまえはアホか" on a computer/"speech transmitter device" wherein it popped out "US ARMY" instead.

  12. The only f###ing reason why this obscure gag still exists is because Pokey Minch from Earthbound/Mother 2 knocks it on the door of Ness' home when he comes back panting and asking him if he could find his younger brother. This reference was brought to light by Clyde Mandelin, who was writing up the second Legends of Localization book (a series showcasing changes made during U.S. localization; the first book covered Zelda 1 on the NES)
