  1. IP address VS GPS
  2. Hi, people have been talking about masking IP address with VPNs, but I seldom here people talk about masking GPS as well. Is it because masking IP is the same as GPS? I suspect it isn't so, and I wish to seek confirmation here.

  14. Why I ask this qus is because I have been using NordVPN, i realize that despite the fact that I have chosen e.g. a USA NEW YORK server, yes, sites like "what is my ip address" tells me that I am "in" NEW YORK while using VPN, but when I go to sites that will reveal your currrent GPS, none of it actually shows that I am "in" NY.
  15. Hence I began to suspect changing your IP does not mean changing your current GPS location, am I right or wrong to say that. Appreciate if anyone who is more knowledgeable in this aspect to guide me, thank you all.

  23. Click to expand...Are you talking about using VPN on Mobile or Desktop?
  24. Because i don't think desktop uses gps.
  25.
  26. It should, technically, show your location based on your proxy/vpn location. There may be other factors causing such issue for you like plugins on browsers leaking your location.

  30. Are you talking about using VPN on Mobile or Desktop?
  31. Because i don't think desktop uses gps.
  32. Im referring to laptop and desktop... Oh they dont have it? To my understanding some machines (besides mobile phone) have inbuilt GPS that we may not be aware, is there a way to find out it sure doesnt have GPS?
  33. It should, technically, show your location based on your proxy/vpn location. There may be other factors causing such issue for you like plugins on browsers leaking your location.
  34. It should? You are assuming spoofing IP using VPN will include spoofing your GPS location for you as well? I am not sure how accurate that statement is because lets say for a mobile, I actually tested with using NordVPN, yes it successfully hide my location, but my GPS location still reveals my current location say in google map!
  35. If indeed like what you said its correct "it should", my google map should show the new location provided to me by NordVPN, not disclosing my current whereabout...
