  1. Gorge Skip fence LJA data
  2.
  3. So I did 5 instances of the Gorge Skip fence LJA using the x-axis aim method. I stood right above the white spot. Not slightly to the left or in front of it. I was very centered. What I did was target the rupee (the fence behind it of course), then target two spots on the fence. I mixed up where I did both my first and second target ever so slightly. I tried imitating Aether's setup in his first sub 3 run (except the fact that I stood directly above the white spot) for the first couple of setups I did. It's important to note that I pressed target after initiating the LJA, before grabbing the rupee. That and standing on top of the white spot are two very important factors for this frame data analysis to make sense and be consistent. Here are my findings:
  4.
  5. Setup 1 -> 6-frame window
  6.
  7. Setup 2 -> 5-frame window
  8.
  9. Setup 3 -> 4-frame window
  10.
  11. Setup 4 -> 4-frame window
  12.
  13. Setup 5 -> 5-frame window
  14.
  15. So a "4.8" frame window if you do the math. Seems like I was lucky with the 6-frame window setup though, so 4.5 would be more accurate.

  17. A good visual cue for when to jump is when the boomerang is curving around the left fence post, so just before it has reached it, basically. Jumping when the boomerang is already at the fence post and even slightly past it is still ok. The picture below will visualise that. It is highly recommended to place the targets close to each other as it will greatly affect the boomerang's path of travel. It seems like the further away they are, the more likely it is that the LJA will simply not work.
  18.
  19. Edit: Now I got another 5-frame window. I think 6 is really unlikely to get.
  20.
  21. Conclusion: It's at least a 4-frame window, which is good, and that is way better than the old method of aiming on the y-axis, so this should be practised. It's way easier to time an A input than aim aiming extremely slowly on the y-axis, similar to Aeralfos Skip. It is better to jump late than early. Most of the first 3 frames did not work (no LJA), whereas the later ones (usually 5-9) worked and you even skipped a grab).

  25. So it seems like frame 5+ works on a lot of different setups. Going early is just really risky. For frame 5 and onwards there were no instances where one frame didn't work, but the next one did. However that cannot be said about the early frames. By the way, I count the first frame where the first target disappears as frame 0, don't ask why.

  27. Important note:
  28.
  29. The first target must not be too far right. Placing the first target too far right is one of the biggest reasons this trick doesn't work, even when jumping late. Here is an image which shows two excellent target placements. Just like I talked about earlier, jump just as the boomerang is about to hit the second fence post or at that spot:

  33. (Of course don't aim directly at the fence. You don't want to move up or down at all. This trick only requires you to aim on the x-axis. The lines are just reference spots you should look at. The cursor should of course be above them, like I have done in-game.)
