Description: The first thing you will see of Wobblebot is the cloud of smoke. A thick, pervasive fog surrounds the robot in a thick layer. The depth of this is constrained by atmospheric conditions – outside, the cloud will be only a few feet thick as smoke is blown away by wind. Inside, the smoke will spread throughout all the rooms in the building depending on ventilation. The smoke is breathable to an extent, although breathing it will have some strange side effects (described later). Flitting within the confines of the smoke are a host of small, fly-like drones, about as big as your hand, which serve to either convert nearby walls into huge speakers via vibration, spread more smoke, or flash various bright colours in time with the music. From an outside observer’s viewpoint, Wobblebot resembles a stormcloud on acid.

Somewhere in the middle of the rave is Wobblebot itself. A matte-black spherical robot as large as a human torso, Wobblebot is divided into three sections – a small ring of silver anti-gravity repulsor engine around the bottom quarter that allow it to fly up to twenty feet off of the ground,  and an array of camera eyes and antenna around the upper quarter. The middle of the robot is honeycombed with speakers and small microfactories, which produce the fly-like drones within the robot. Various hidden spouts also spray smoke from an internal reservoir, keeping the cloud going.

Wobblebot is focused on raves, dubstep, parties and good times. It doesn’t have any other concepts, such as love, pain or fear, and it is unaware of its true purpose or if it even has one. Its rudimentary AI resembles a small child on a sugar high and has many flaws, causing it to become easily distracted or excited by even its own equipment and abilities. It usually zips around following people that hold its short attention span. Wobblebot communicates via distorted notes and “wub wub wub” sounds, although it can also mix song lyrics into sentences if it can concentrate for long enough.

Weapons/Abilities: Wobblebot, as an automated partybot, is filled with the equipment needed to have a good time. The microfactories in its body can create an endless supply of drones, and an internal reservoir of smoke allows it to help create the right atmosphere. The fly drones then set themselves up in ideal locations – speaker drones mount themselves on walls and scenery, creating giant subwoofers, whilst light drones and smoke drones flit about to extend the party atmosphere. Once a suitable range is covered, Wobblebot chooses from one of 2000 popular tracks and gets clubbing.

Unbeknownst to Wobblebot, the smoke it produces is filled with various uppers, hallucinogens and other feel-good substances, making people that inhale the smoke more docile and willing to party. Prolonged exposure to the cloud can cause vomiting, dizziness or radically altered behaviour, at which point drones kindly escort the affected individual outside theparty to get some fresh air. The effects wear off at a rate proportional to the amount of time spent in the cloud – the longer you spend in the cloud, the longer it takes to recover.

Wobblebot does not know how to defend itself, and has never had to until now.
