  1. Obliteration never looked so divine.
  2.
  3. I stared up at the gray sky, rain pelting my bloodied face. I could barely see and the only thing I could hear was the soft raindrops on the cold stone under me. Everything hurt. My crimson hair lay spread on the ground below me, soaking in the rain. It all came back to me, as I finally remembered where I was and what had happened. I couldn't defend myself as I was mercilessly beat near death by a group of thugs. I was only twelve, how would I fight back? No weapon did I possess, nor strength that I could muster to put forth the effort. I flexed my fingers to test if I could still move any bit of my body. I whimpered like a pathetic child when the pain shocked through my body. I had been beaten up before, a routine that seemed almost unavoidable at some point. I stole food to eat, and people didn't like that. I was a leech on society; a rodent. It was nothing for those men and women to beat me over and over. Anger surged through my body as the thought came to me. I forced myself up, crying in pain. Tears welled in my eyes as I couldn't muster enough strength to stand. I have come to learn how unrelenting life is. How much the world will take from you if you are weak.

  5. I wanted it to end.
  6.
  7. The somber thought was interrupted, as a shadowy figure of a large highlander man towered over me. He wore a very nice suit and had sunglasses on, hiding his gaze.
  8.
  9. "Get up." A deep, gruff voice commanded.
  10.
  11. "I..I cant." I cried through gritted teeth.
  12.
  13. He narrowed his eyes, the brow furrowing in disgust. "You will stand. This is far from the worst thing that will happen to you if you do not."
  14.
  15. I looked up at him, unable to hold the gaze for long. It hurt to keep my head arched up. I sobbed pathetically, spending minutes trying to gather myself onto my feet. The man watched the entire time, not a word coming from his mouth until I arose.
  16.
  17. "Good. Now follow me." He said, turning and moving towards the end of the alley I now realized I was in. When I got to where the man stopped, I saw the three men who had assaulted me, tied up and bloodied against the wall. I felt many emotions at once. What was this? I looked up at the highlander, but before I could speak, he pulled a large knife from his coat and flipped it. He caught the tip with his index and thumb, and lowered it down to me.
  18.
  19. "Kill them." He commanded.
  20.
  21. My eyes go wide with shock, fear and many other emotions. The highlander must have seen this, as he grabs my hand and forces me to grip the knife. I hold it as best I can, with the amount of pain that I am in.
  22.
  23. "You feel the pain? The anger? Don't you want to be something more? I see you out here every day. You steal to live and you get battered by those who despise you. You can be much more than that. These rats..." He points to the three tied up. "They are lesser. You are going to be an alpha, young one. Start your journey with me, and kill them."
  24.
  25. I look down at the knife, thinking upon his words. I have never even seen a dead body up to this point. Could I really find it in me to kill someone? I think back to a few moments ago... Staring up at the sky.. the pain of being alive... holding my breath in the hopes that my end would come. All of that was a result of the assault upon her. I looked up at the three, who now had a look of sheer terror in their eyes. They probably had families, but none of that mattered now. The fire sparked in my eyes and I took my first steps from living in fear to /being/ feared. I had the knife pointed at the first mans jugular.

  27. Obliteration... never looked so divine.
