Enough for a Queen

I crushed it
But is it really over?
Am I ever going to be enough?
It really hurts...

Honestly, I don't know why I do this
I try to fit someone's definition of enough
Then I get thrown out in the trash
As if it were indeed, not enough

Eventually, I had to be enough
Enough to me, at the very least
I got sick of everyone else
I know what I wanted to do

I didn't want to be the maid
I didn't want to be the princess
I wanted to be the queen
There was only one way

I would have to take the hits
It didn't matter what was said
Get knocked down, bounce back up
Press on, with full grace

At that point, I knew
I was in control of my life
That's the crown I needed.
