- "Hey, it's been a while since we had a day in. You don't mind, right?"
- Alita, already climbing in through your window, doesn't wait for your answer. It's kind of unlike her, wanting to spend the day just relaxing inside. And to come over so early...As she turns to you, and you catch a glimpse of her red-ringed eyes, you understand why. Simply nodding, you open your arms, wordlessly inviting her to the bed you're sitting on. She wastes no time in embracing you, with enough force that you naturally fall back, laying against the bed with her on top of you. You run your fingers through her hair, closing your eyes as you automatically tighten your hold on her.
- "...What happened?" Her muscles tense slightly at your question, even if its to be expected. After another moment or two, her reply comes, muted and downtrodden. "Well...To be honest, it's a little embarassing, but...I had a nightmare. It's just a dream, but...It really got to me." You pull back slightly, so you can meet her eyes. After a moment's shyness, she meets yours, a single tear rolling down her cheeks. It feels wrong, seeing Alita like that. You wipe it away, and give her a hopefully-reassuing look. "Do you wanna talk about it?"
- She nodded, a tiny movement you would've missed entirely if you hadn't been so close. "Well...It sounds stupid, but...I dreamed you were just...Sitting alone, in a dark room, at your computer." She begins slowly, haltingly, but quickly picks up her pace, "I tried to say hi, but you couldn't hear me. I could just feel how lonely you were...On your computer, there were tons of pictures of me. I couldn't understand- I was right there, but there was nothing I could do. I went to take your hand, to hug you, but...I couldn't touch you." She paused for a moment, so you take her hand. "Seeing you like that was just too sad...I love you, and nothing's going to change that. I'm not sure if I was gone in the dream, or...If we had just never met. Either way, I want you to know something, okay?" She sniffled a little, but her gaze held yours firmly. "I love you. No matter what. No matter if we're right here together, or if we're worlds apart. Nothing's going to change that." She pulls you into a tight hug, her metallic arms digging into you with enough pressure to be a little bit painful. You've never minded, though, and today's certainly no different. You return the embrace with all the force you can muster, trying to pour some of what you're feeling into the gesture. Not for the first time, you find yourself marveling at how lucky you are to be with such a sweet girl.
- As the morning slowly ticks by, you remain interlocked, although you do end up laying on your sides facing eachother, talking in whispers. Your eyes never stray from hers for long, and hers gradually regain some of their usual brightness. Finally, she gives you one of her flawless smiles, the sight of which makes your heart soar. You melt back into an embrace, your eyes closing. With a soft voice, vulnerable but overflowing with love, Alita whispers in your ear. "Thank you for spending the morning with me...I love you."
