Personality:

She is a smart mouthed, non-filtred, original copy of a bitch when it comes to those she has never met before. Her exterior is usually seen as two things: a flame, hot but dangerous; or snow, beautiful but cold. She puts this exterior up to hide the innocent, carefree and loving interior, a side of her that remains vulnerable since birth. Only those she allows to see her real self know about her borderline depression, how hard she is on herself when she messes up a dance move or misses a note in her favourite song. It took a long time for the witches to get there, but even they don't know just how vulnerable her bookwormish, musical, loving interior is.

The witches know that she's a woman who can't be caged, a dragon, untamed, the dry wood that needs but a spark to ignite. Through their friendship, she's managed to calm down and open up from the fierce coat she always wore, learning to reveal the vulnerable but cute lion cub on the inside, who only acts like a lioness to protect herself from the cruel and deceitful world filled with bullshit.

She refused to believe that she's developed yet another liking towards the disgusting species that is the man who surprisingly managed to get her attention. The other witches can clearly tell that this is more than a simple crush, especially with the chemistry sparking when they spar alone, eat alone, talk alone, even sleep in their own bed. They know that she vowed to never declare her love for a man she didn't want to show a side even they didn't know, so the witches were always careful when it came to that man. The mortals are definitely less subtle about "how their ship is finally setting sail" whenever they team the two up together, but since she didn't like any of them at first, the boys still had their doubts about their closeness and relationship.

When alone: trapped in her thoughts
When threatened, she cowers and screams for help on the inside. The child in her that never grew out of her irrational fears will forever ask what the dragon on the outside is thinking when facing the threat head-on. She remains calm and always tries to find a route to escape without any chance of them getting hurt, but it's difficult to resist the urge to bite the sucker's head off with her power.

• Kagiso Sibeko | 22 | twin brother | alive
String jawline, dark and smooth skin, golden eyes from his mother that makes all the ladies quiver in their knickers - until you see how he treats his younger sister. Being only 13 mintue older than Thanda, he's almost the opposite of her personality. He always has a smile, a lot more friends to talk to and his bright exterior is one that brightens anyone's day. Don't let that make you think he doesn't have a dark side.
5/5 closeness. Those two cannot be seperated from each other. If one's feeling down, the other is already holding the cause of their sadness at gunpoint. He knows everything about her, even their weakest points that no one else in the family knows, and protects her with all his heart.

Practically Thanda's twin of she wore her thick framed glasses, but a thinner face and hazel eyes. Her figure is tall and thin, and she's a body builder without the intense muscles.
4/5 closeness, since they were always together since birth. Even when they fought, their problems would always be resolved one way or another.

Next in line to be king, yet he stays as humble as his youngest sister. No matter how much of a fine young man he looks like to many of the woman he'd court, anyone who's seen him since he was young would only see the baby face and cute personality.
2/5 closeness. Thanda and Nathi drifted apart the second he was crowned Prince and heir to the throne. He always had women around him who never wanted the youngest around her brother, so she slowly backed away from the relationship. It's not as strong as back when they would play pranks on the guards or distract their mom from her meetings, but they know that they still love each other - it's just not said as frequently anymore.

3/5. Being king of the Odgen clan was met with multiple struggles, including keeping his family together and safe. With the rebellious two daughters of his and his sons only watching, he still managed to keep a close relationship with his children. Although, the difference between "father" and "your highness" was always clear in his attitude.

Hazelnut eyes always filled with care and not anger. Caramel skin that all her dark children admired. Beautiful round face that fitted perfectly in her husband's large hands when they kissed. She was a blessing to Odgen that was lost in the most unfair way. She knew that the second a piece of hair fell from her comb that her days were numbered, but kept going until her last breath. A true queen, a real and loving mother she was, and she will always be missed.
3/5 closeness. Thanda always thought her mother was picking favourites, since Becca always scolded her even if all the siblings were involved - but that was never the case. Her mother only wanted the youngest to grow up to be disciplined and controlled unless she was alone with the family. Becca knew the second her water broke with the twins that the crying and kicking princess would soon leave the throne room to pursue something bigger than what she could handle without love. She did all that she did out of love, and unfortunately could only explain once her last note was delivered to her beloved daughter.

BACKGROUND:

She was the top learner in her class for every subject, excelled the most in mathematics, but was bullied because of her smarts and academic skills. Occasionally getting in trouble was an impossible occurence until highschool, when she remained good but gained too many demerits for the dumbest reasons.
"Who the hell gets in trouble for forgetting to bring an assignment, when the student just recovered from their DAMN PERIOD?!"

The first thing she did when she could walk was climb up her father's footstool and play the piano in the ballroom. Whenever they king and queen had to host the annual festivals, you'd find Thanda dancing with her gummy smile at its purest form. She always carries a thick novel, her spell book, a notebook and her communication device in her black and purple backpack, one her mother gave to her when she first started learning how to use her powers. She's a literacy lover and a musical person.
"No black person in their right minds would ignore a bop even if they hate it, so be like my clan and DANCE WITH ME!"

Her mother taught her how to control her powers when she accidentally dropped a burning crater into her cereal the day she unlocked her powers. After her condition was announced, she turned to reading the spell books and growing stronger by herself, without anyone's help.

She preferred teaching herself how to manage her powers, rather than have her parents or teachers at school show her how. Much like how she approaches dancing, she does the same with her power, except more vigorous and less understanding of her mistakes.
"If I need to learn from others, how will I be able to do it by myself if they haven't taught me what to do yet?"

Her mother's death was nothing like any other queen's death. The entire clan and even neighbouring clans cried their hearts out because of the loss of their most valuable gem on the history of Odgen royalty. When they turned in the once carefree and open child for causing their queen's death, she became cold and too cautious. They fed ideas in her head that she would always ignore but never forget. They caused the buildup of her self-hate which began at the mere age of 10. They made her exterior, but changed her interior to be more vulnerable.
"Mother left me to fend for myself, to prove to her that I can't be taken down, but I can't do it by myself. I'm a disappointment."

Clan of OGDEN.

All families in Ogden have brown eyes that change colour with their emotion if not tattooed with the ink. This is a characteristic the royal family has, but only they can hide it. Boys generally take their mother's looks and father's personality, and the opposite happens with the girls. Everyone is of different and mixed ethnicities, many having another clans blood woven in their family tree. Ogden's people take the personality of the element they connect with the most. They are friendly and fair to the other clans but unkind to those who wrong them. Ogden used to be known to cause wars in their past but has change under the three generations of the Sibeko rule.

Only the royal family and few of the chosen ones possess Ogden's elemental power. Everyday citizens who had a special gift were given a choice in wanting to dwell with magic. Only two queens in their ancient history have been able to produce magic without the help of a wand - until Thanda came along.

TRADITIONS:

• special family events are always celebrated with a traditional braai (barbeque according to the rest of existence). A chicken is slaughtered for the birth of a new baby or a woman having her first menstruation; a goat for coming of age (10 for your powers, 16 for becoming a man/woman and 21 in royalty for crowning); a cow for marriage ceremonies, whether it be a white wedding or a traditional wedding planned. They'd eat whatever they would prepare with the meat they cooked, but pap, vegetables and traditional beer for the men is the main thing served.

• holidays and festivals also have a braai, but with smaller assortments of any meat brought together as a clan. This is something were everyone is invited and welcome, a time when from midnight to midnight is filled with laughter, joy and celebration.

• tragedies in the clan, mainly death, is mourned within the family for the first five days, then grieved with the entire clan. Prayers, blessings and gifts are given by each family during this period of time, and everyone's mood in Ogden is brought down a few notches.

The Sibeko family is the lastest down the royal history of the clan. They are the first of many generations to be completely of the black ethnicity, something the former families never had. It was looked down upon until the changes the queen made were for the better. They changed the cruel ways Ogden was run to make it more democratic and justifiable.

Ogden's crest can be tattooed with a special ink at birth or worn as a gemstone never to be taken off if the baby clearly refused the ink. It's an eye with the different elements as the whites of it. The irises change colour with the mood of whoever is tattooed with it, but shown as whatever matches with their strongest or most favourable power for the Royals (for example, flames with show when using a fire spell). Specifically for those with powers within the clan, there's a circle with a different sprit animal drawn under the eye.

THE TWELVE OF HOPE

Other powers:
• summon any weapon of her choosing from her ring. (She likes the Katana and bow & arrow the most.)
• assess then copy the fighting technique or power of her opponent.
• enhance a teammate's powers with her own energy in dire situations. (Drains her energy)
• her spell book gains multiple new spells with each opponent they face.
• can control all the elements at one, not just one at a time. (Her eyes turn golden when she does, but this drains her energy as well.)

Magic level: 10/10
She learned from Ogden's greatest queen at a very young age, then taught herself the rest of her knowledge. That's never happened before, not even with the two stronger queens in their clan's history.

Talisman: her mother's engagement ring, given to her right before she died. It has a thick golden band with a silver diamond that glows with whatever power she uses. It acts as protection and a boost of her powers. Thanda never takes it off and has relied on it for her extra powers. It's basically her wand, in this case. It acts as a reminder of her family and what she left behind, but also something to hold on to because she gained a new family along the way.

Runic alphabet: (only understood by the royal family)
Igazi - means "blood". When this shows, it reminds her of who she loves and what she would do to protect her. Usually appears when she or the team is in danger.
Uthando - an ancient way of saying "love". Shows whenever her love interest is nearby, stating that the ring can feel her emotions and knows that what she's feeling is right.
Others are if a message from the witches is coming through, reflection of her emotions if she doesn't want it to show in her eyes, or anything else you'd like to add.

Familiar's name: Aurora a.k.a Roar.
She's a lion cub who can turn into a full ground lioness when needed. She's the animal shown as the circle in her crest, which disappears when summoned.

Preferred clothing style: Tomboyish

• Typically jeans and a t-shirt of any type. Shirts differ depending on her mood but are usually not too tight. She always carries her mother's black denim jacket around her waist when she's not wearing it - if not, then the jacket will match her jeans & shirt with her shoes.

• Accessories - her ring, a necklace her closest friend/witch gave her, rings on special occasions.
  >With her glasses, she can manipulate how they look and what they do. They tint when she's in the sum, can change into goggles for activities underwater, even change into contacts which she never does.

• Shirts - comfy shirts that usually have silly sayings on them. Most are plain with designs all over the front.
  >It's usually large and loose shirts stolen from her brothers or bought by herself. She hardly ever wears anything that could show off her relatively large bosom (she's an E) or the blubber on her stomach (which can hardly be seen by anyone either way.)

• Pants - majority are dark blue or black jeans, wears shorts or sweatpants on relaxed days.
  >When training, she makes sure that her pants won't weight her down and can be torn if caught in something. If needed, she can easily change into her witch's outfit (a dark purple, borderline black, jumpsuit with short sleeved and long pants, paired with black sneakers or boots and a large coat like jacket) with a spell.

• Shoes - mainly sneakers or laced up/closed shoes, had a few ballet flats for added style. All Stars and Nike are her usual type of sneakers.
  >Absolutely no heels - ever. She finds them hard to do any activity in and will need to be held down to wear them. Exceptions are her favourite pair of shoes, comfy black boots with thick heels.

• Doesn't like showing skin - insecurities get in the way since she thinks she's fat yet knows she's not.

  >Boys clothing, mainly hoodies or large jackets, is a need when relaxing/reading/writing OR if she's cold. Love interest finds her very cute when she reads with his purple hoddie on.

Thanda's trivia:

• she had three major crushes who betrayed her trust in men when they rejected her and bullied her, the worst scenario being in collage. That's why she finds it so hard to admit that she is possibly in love with that mere mortal.

• her favourite colour is purple. Her spell book has purple designs, her combination of clothes is usually purple and black and her eyes show purple when she feels her favourite and most hated emotion - love.

• she is a true child at heart, but doesn't show it. Warm milk with honey (a lot of it, since she has an extreme sweet tooth) helps her go to bed when she can't. She cuddles into a person she feels can give her comfort and protection when she's sad or has a rare, hard wave of depression wash over her.

• she doubts if she's a true Christian or not. It's not because she thinks God doesn't exist, but rather because she believes that her relationship with Him has faded because of her emotions taking over her thoughts.

HER: "Mini/Tae, please leave me. I just got an amazing idea that I need to finish."
HIM: "But what if I want your attention now, my love?"
HER: "Then go annoy the other boys. And I told you to stop calling me your love. We're not dating, nor will we ever."
HIM: *looks at scene* "Then why is you character making out with–"
HER: "FOR FUCK SAKES, JIMIN/TAEHYUNG! YOU'RE NIT ALLOWED TO READ THESE!"

• the boys come to talk to her about her feelings. I think Hoseok's is best fit for this, but you choose.

Him: "Does he make you smile even when you're feeling like crying?"
Her: "What is the point of these questions–"
Him: "Is he on your mind when you wake up, when you fall asleep, even in your dreams?"
Her: "Does it matter–"
Him: "Would you feel heartbroken if she went for any of the other witches instead?"
Her: "None of y'all are getting to my friends without my approva–"
Him: "Thanda, do you love him?"
Her: *looks down, tears in her eyes* "I don't want to, Hoseok. I'm scared to."

• a girl's night with all the witches, where they pig out and act like teenage girls again. Thanda declaring a pillow war is a must if you add this, cause that would be hilarious.

A FACT I WANTED TO ADD!
She's asthmatic. It was awakened in her early teen years but the symptoms and attacks are pretty much dormant now. I think if you have a scene where the stress of a situation causes her to dance to try and let go when she has an attack out of nowhere. Maybe a few jump scares across the book where she struggles to breathe and could have an attack if no one calmed her down. If a thick vein connecting her right shoulder to her neck starts to pain unbearably, then the attack has started. I can tell you more about it if you need me to, but the internet is a better resource than me.
