  1. Monolitas: Hello, Ub3rgames.
  2. I dont want to make very long message. Ill try to mark my points.
  3.
  4. This has to do with title system. I have few concerns about how it is implimented. Overall i think system is good "class" alternative. But i dont understand the penalities of having choice later on. Why would you penalize people for changing titles like that. You taking out their invested time into the game. Nobody likes losing progress they made. My solution would be, letting change the title without losing progress ever few, or more months. Than even if you introduce new titles, which you will, people wont need to lose their time, which we have so little already.
  5. I think you thought about letting people choose 4 combat and 1 industrial title? Thats how many many mmos balance things out. So you do not "gimp" your character of the pvp. Pvp is huge part of darkfall after all.
  6.
  7. [7:51 PM] Ub3rgames: What is lost is the title skill, which is gained through real time passive progression.
  8. [7:51 PM] Ub3rgames: If you have leveled the skill through regular gameplay, you do not lose it, it only goes inactive.
  9. [7:53 PM] Ub3rgames: But titles are meant to be permanent choices, with an option to respec with momentum. You are not supposed to change often.
  10. The reason is that if we had the ability to swap quickly, then people would be back at square one: grind everything to be able to swap according to the siuation.
  11. [7:54 PM] Ub3rgames: Combat and industry titles have to share the same pool to work out.
  12. You can have a viable build with 3-4 combat titles, which leaves room for industry titles.
  13. However, you cannot be both magical/physical hybrid and combat/industry hybrid at the same time. You have to choose.
  14. That choice means there are less actual crafters in the overall economy, so more demand, and better chances at profit, which keeps these kind of players interested in the game.
  15. [7:56 PM] Monolitas: You say it meant to be permanent, but yet you will introduce new titles later on. How will that work? Will you let people respec?
  16. [7:58 PM] Monolitas: Wouldnt it be better if you would let people to respec every now and then? Without losing that precious progress. Well, i guess people would go for max titles like that, but whats the difference if you can use few titles at given time. Implementing 6 month posible respec. Wouldnt hurt anyone?
  17. [8:01 PM] Ub3rgames: Yo ucan respec, that's what we said. When you pick a different title, you lose some xp on the one you abandonned (10 lvl for combat, 100 lvl for industry) and then it slowly delevels as your new title levels up.
  18. [8:02 PM] Ub3rgames: Because it is about having permanence and meaningful player indentity choices.
  19. [8:02 PM] Ub3rgames: Even if it is a long cooldown, an instant respec can be used for cheap strategy
  20. [8:03 PM] Ub3rgames: You are your character, and people will get to know you and your style. They need to be able to predict and adapt to who they see against them.
  21. [8:07 PM] Monolitas: Well lets day it wouldnt be instant. But i understand your point. But dont you think that propogate "alt2win" gameplay? Wouldnt it actually break those things you were talking about? I understand i should look at this as a business, that will increase your revenue by quet some amount.
  22. [8:07 PM] Monolitas: What you are trying to achieve would negate by alts.
  23. [8:09 PM] Ub3rgames: Alt2Win is a meme and mostly wrong
  24. [8:10 PM] Ub3rgames: It is completely negligible, an overwhelming majority of players do not and will not bother. This means that from 100% of potential crafters, we'll get to a very small percent of crafters, and they'll be able to profit and make it full time.
  25. [8:10 PM] Ub3rgames: Clans will always have alts, or they would have enough members to spread the titles. That "meta" is not impacted by title limitations at all.
  26. [8:11 PM] Ub3rgames: But the open market, in racial lands and chaos cities is where things get more interesting, as players can be crafters without a clan thanks to all these mesures
