Context

In Australia, gun control is very restrictive and that even quite a lot of gun owners here are okay with scary-looking guns being stolen by police which I can't relate to. People say that friendship also requires mutual interests or similar admiration of their interests so what can I do for while I'm stuck here? I wish I could move to America, but it'll be a long time. Though, I found a potential real life who is okay with my stance on firearms but he's not as interested in them yet (though he's been curious about them).
