- Cloud tried to strike while his back was turned, but went for the center of mass on instinct. No matter how big his sword was, it didn’t do anything more than spark across Bowser’s impenetrable shell.
- Mythra flew in, took advantage of Cloud’s back assault and started carving up his front. Bowser ducked, down on all fours, and shrunk. His arms and his legs and his head and even his tail tucked inside the shell, leaving nothing left to attack.
- The other enemies long since forgotten, Cloud and Mythra seemed well content to continue battering down onto the shell. Bowser was not.
- For a brief moment, his eyes glowed angrily from the dark cavern of his scrunched in neck. Then, they shut, and a burst of flames erupted from the opening.
- Mythra hopped back, being the closest to his head, but it wasn’t just her in danger. The force of the flames began to push on Bowser. With nothing anchoring him to the ground, he began to spin, until the fire was whipped into a vortex of spinning flames surrounding him on all sides.
- His arms and legs popped from their holes and his claws dug into the gravel to ground himself. Space was sufficiently made that Bowser could take a breath.
