- "...transferring the soul into a vessel," finished Dr. Gaster.
- Dr. Andonuts nodded. "I did something similar with my Phase Distorter. You see -"
- "Now hold on just a minute," interrupted Professor Membrane. "Are you two talking about the so-called 'human soul'?" He wagged his fingers.
- Andonuts frowned. "Well, yes, I suppose we are."
- "I have to say that that's very disappointing. I would have expected more from two men of science than to fall for such unproven myths."
- "I assure you they exist."
- "Nonsense! Next you will be telling me that ghosts or monsters exist as well!"
- Gaster's eye sockets drifted across the room. "I am. Quite real."
- "Come now. That is a nice mask you're wearing" - he glanced at Gaster's floating hands - "and those prostheses are very impressive, I should know, but it is a costume in the end."
- Gaster's hands creeped towards Membrane's chest. Slowly, a glowing purple heart emerged.
- "A hologram, I assume? Very well done!"
- The hands retreated, and his soul snapped back into his chest.
- "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a business meeting."
- He left.
- Andonuts and Gaster watched him walk to a garish purple limousine, guided by a jittery-looking cat monster.
- "Do you think he knows?"
- Gaster shrugged.
