~This Brings Back Memories~

*Alice & Jack*

Jack sat there on the chair with a slightly ticked off expression that's evident on his face while he was staring at the child peacefully reading a book.

Alice did it yet again, even after he told her to stop creating those...things. She calls them chemicals, but if you asked Jack, they were just potions just like from the fairy tales. Except, these ones are real and one backfired on her.

"Do you really not remember anything?" he asked again, trying to pry for more information.

"Mister, you've already asked that question many times already."

He tsked. Confiscating those potions will be his top priority once everything was over. Honestly, he should have actually confiscated them like he had planned to last time. He knew that it was the most logical action, but NO he had to believe that his girlfriend wouldn't so it again.

He was dead wrong.

He sighed, might as well go along with this. It wasn't exactly deadly to say the least... It's just weird if you think about it.

"This brings back memories, doesn't it?" Jack asked to no one in particular, reminiscing from nostalgia.

"You'd sit under the tree on top of the hill at school while you read a book, like now. Then I'd either disturb you or read it with you. You were so small back then too... not like it didn't change tho~"  he teased.

"Hey! I actually grew taller. You're just naturally tall, that's all!" Alice slightly fumed, momentarily forgetting about the book she was reading and her predicament.

Silence.

"AHA! So you DO remember," Jack exclaimed.

With that, her cover was practically blown over.

"R-Remember what, mister?"

"Cut the act already, Al and admit that you lied about forgetting."

Alice sighed, giving in.

"Took you long enough, hmph."

"I can see that your mental age has also regressed."

"Oi! That's just rude!"

"I'm sorry for speaking the truth then"

"...I hate you"

"You wouldn't be dating someone you hate, doll~"

Alice glared at him.

Jack stretched his arms upwards, after just recently finishing his project. He turned his laptop off and placed it inside its respective bag.

He glanced back to the now sleeping Alice that was still holding the book they were previously reading. He looked at the nearby clock and sighed. He stood up and draped a blanket on the child and kissed her forehead.

"Just like before... but our roles are reversed."

He chuckled.

"Good night, Al."
