Clantail blocks Melville's javelins

Melville nocked her harpoon to her bow, pulled the bowstring taut, and aimed at Clantail. Clantail’s body twitched, but she had nowhere to run. The launched harpoon was deflected by Clantail’s shield, and it hit a building several hundred meters behind. Said building’s entire upper half exploded. Clantail could not completely withstand the impact and was sent flying, so she hurriedly transformed her lower half into a crocodile to stabilize herself.

“Oh, a Shield +10. Pretty sturdy.”

The second and third shots were deflected by the shield, but every single one drove Clantail back with the force of their impacts. The places where the harpoons hit the ground exploded into craters.

Clantail deflected all the attacks, blocking them with the shield, and avoided being directly hit. While she had not taken an attack straight on, the shoulders behind the shield were rising and falling, and she could not catch her breath. It might have been a Shield +10, but the power of Melville’s bow and arrow were extraordinary, as was her arm-strength while launching projectiles. Clantail had seen Melville loose arrows countless times, but regardless of the level of her weapon, the speed and power she had seen in the past could not compare to the sheer offensive nature she was witnessing now.
