<theDM> You open the deploy tab. There are four large machines labeled "Cruxtruder" "Alchemiter" "Totem Lathe" and "Punch Designix," and a punched captchalogue card.
<theDM> All except the Punch Designix are free.

<theDM> The Cruxtruder is a bulky, square machine with a tube on top. The Totem Lathe is a long, thin machine. And the Alchemiter is another large, square machine, but it has a tall tube on one of the corners instead of the middle.

<theDM> Xivalo hears a large thunk on top of his bridge.
<theDM> He also hears a crash in the distance
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh n'someone's trying t'cross!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop climbs to the top of the bridge.
<theDM> You find no person, but you do see a large, square machine.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh."
<theDM> There is a wheel on a tube in the center, and a timer on the side

<theDM> The machine does not respond.
<MaternallyAberrant> MA: Ooh! yoou're MOOving tooward it. hehe

<theDM> The machine continues to not respond.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "okay, then you gotta g'off the bridge."

<theDM> That not responding thing the machine has been doing?
<theDM> It continues to do that.

<theDM> It does nothing.

<theDM> You hear a slight thump coming from the tube on the machine.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "sorry what was that?"
* Xivalo_Enyuop goes to investigate the box.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> Maybe it's just really quiet.

<theDM> The wheel looks like it wants to be turned.

<theDM> Several light green cylinders spill out, and a flashing orb bursts from below them, floating above the tube.

* Xivalo_Enyuop clambors backwards.

<theDM> You notice the timer on the Cruxtruder start to tick down.

<theDM> The orb flies over one of the cylinders.
<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri attempts to "move" Xiavlo
<theDM> Maytri gets an error.

<theDM> It flashes at you again.

<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri looks for something to throw under Xiavlo's bridge

<theDM> The kernelsprite flashes, then shows the image of a paper with some writing on it.
<theDM> It starts speaking in some language Xivalo can't understand.
<theDM> But it seems to want you to do something with the cylinder.
<MaternallyAberrant> MA: Wooah! that happened!
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "i don't think i know what you're saying."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "is that yours?"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "you can have't back'f you want."
<MaternallyAberrant> MA: here, ill deplooy the last free thing
<theDM> It flashes at you more. You see several meteors streak through the sky.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh i get't."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "you can't pick't'p!"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "here, i'll help you."
<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri deploys the Alchemeter
* Xivalo_Enyuop goes over to pick up the cylinder and tries to give it back to the orb.
<theDM> The orb flies away from the cylinder, continuing to flash at you.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> Does it fly away towards the other side of the bridge? Or back to the side it came from?
<theDM> It just flies far enough away to not touch the cylinder.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> Gotcha.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "n'this's yours!"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "i don't wanna take't from you."
<theDM> It flies away, toward the one of the other machines.
<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri tries to move the cylinder Xivalo holds to the Totem Lathe to move Xiavlo along
<theDM> This one is long and thin, with what looks like a place to put one of the cylinders.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "n'come back, you haven't answered the riddle yet!"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh..."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "wait..."
<theDM> Maytri is unable to take the cylinder Xivalo is holding.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "are you giving m'a riddle?"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "you can't give m'a riddle, i'm the one that gives the riddles!"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "but, i d'like riddles..."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "okay fine, i'll answer the riddle."
<theDM> It continues to flash at you.
* Xivalo_Enyuop places the cylinder in the cylinder place.
<MaternallyAberrant> MA: goooodness Xivaloo. stoop fraternizing With the paper oorb.
<theDM> The machine does not react. There is a slot for something thin and rectancular that is still empty.
<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri, wanting to talk to Xivalo, places the last and the most costly machine next to his communicator
<theDM> You get an error. Insuffienct grist to deploy Punch Designix.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "hmmm..."
<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri deploys the card on Xivalo's laptop
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "i dunno."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> (The laptop is back under the bridge.)
<MaternallyAberrant> (Hence why she wanted to deploy heavy machine)
<theDM> The orb notices the deployed card and flies over to it, flashing all the while
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh, you were hiding a piece."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "if you're hiding't, don't show't t'm'that's n'fun!"

<Xivalo_Enyuop> "here, i'll pretend i didn't see't."
* Xivalo_Enyuop covers his eyes, then uncovers them
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "hey look, what's that?"
* Xivalo_Enyuop climbs down and picks up the card.

<theDM> The totem lathe reads the card, then carves the dowel into a strange shape.

<MaternallyAberrant> Maytri slumps over and watches, minimizing her chat client

<theDM> The orb starts flashing again, babbling in the language you can't understand.
* Xivalo_Enyuop takes the new shaped thing.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "am i doing good?"
<theDM> It continues to flash at you.

<Xivalo_Enyuop> "you still gotta answer m'riddle."

<theDM> You see a large, circular platform and a place to put a cylinder on this machine.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "hm..."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "wait, yes i do!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop places it on the smaller platform.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "hehe, i figured't out!"
<theDM> The Alchemiter scans the carved dowel, takes a second to process it, the powers down.
<theDM> On the main platform, a light green crank and flower appears
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop goes over and sits down on the platform next to the two objects.
* Xivalo_Enyuop attempts to turn the crank.
<theDM> As you turn the crank, the flower grows. However, out of the courner of your eye, you notice the timer ticking down much faster as you turn the crank.

<Xivalo_Enyuop> "wait..."
* Xivalo_Enyuop watches the timer intently while he turns the crank.
<theDM> It ticks down faster as you turn the crank. In the sky, you see a large meteor bearing down on your position.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "hm."
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "that's not right."
* Xivalo_Enyuop tries to turn it the other way.
<theDM> It turns the other way. The flower shrinks, the timer counts upward, and the meteor seems to return to the sky slightly.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "wow, that's a cool riddle!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop keeps turning it backwards.
<theDM> The flower shrinks to it's original state, the timer ticks back up, and the crank eventually stops turning that direction.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "s'now what?"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "it's stuck."

<theDM> You can still turn it the other way.
* Xivalo_Enyuop doesn't want to.

<theDM> You notice that even though you're not turning the wheel, the timer continues to tick down, just at one second per second
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "oh't's not stuck."
<theDM> The meteor also seems to be creeping closer, and a couple smaller ones crash not too far from your bridge.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "AH!"
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "THAT'S NOT GOOD!"
<Maytri> Maytri begins to sigh lowdly and attempts to spin the crank herself
<theDM> Maytri gets an error: NO CHEATING
* Xivalo_Enyuop hesitates a bit, then turns the crank forward a bit.
<theDM> The flower starts to bloom again, and the timer ticks down faster.

<Maytri> Maytri tries to manure-ver a pencil to tap the crank
<theDM> The pencil taps the crank, but nothing happens.
<theDM> A few more meteors crash down, one of them hitting the bridge.
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "AH!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop turns the crank quickly in a panic.
<theDM> The flower blooms faster, the time grows shorter, and the massive meteor looms closer.

<Xivalo_Enyuop> Still panicking, Xivalo continues to turn the crank.
<theDM> A bunch of meteors start to rain down. One of them nearly hits Elephantdad

<Maytri> Maytri attempts to move elephantdad (?)
<theDM> Elephantdad comes closer to you, worredly staring at the giant meteor.
<theDM> Maytri successfully picks up Elephantdad.
* Xivalo_Enyuop stops turning the crank and examines the flower.
<theDM> He trumpets in annoyance.
<theDM> The flower seems like it's getting close to be fully bloomed.
<theDM> But it still needs more time.
<Maytri> Maytri places Elephantdad safely beside Xivalo, and then tries to continue her pencil clicking
<Xivalo_Enyuop> "i hope this works!"
* Xivalo_Enyuop turns it a little bit more.
<theDM> The flower blooms a bit more, the time ticks down, and the meteor seems dangerously close.

* Xivalo_Enyuop gulps, and reluctantly turns the crank a little bit more.

<theDM> The massive one is just above your bridge. It looks like it'll destroy you any second.

<theDM> The flower blooms.
