  1. <-- goobrashi, few months after backstory reveal and shutting himself off!
  2.
  3. A round chamber.
  4. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Leading from the living room to the east, the archway opens up into a round chamber that reaches up nearly thirty feet into the air. The floor is again made of the same golden, crystal-flecked and violet-whorled bamboo with its protective coating, but in this room there are also a series of depressions in the floor. The first is in the center of the room, and covered with a layer of bright orange padding with red poppies randomly distributed along the fabric. Directly next to that first depression is one that is significantly larger, with more padding, deep black and durable. A few more depressions with their own padding are interspersed throughout the space, though they have the same pattern to them- just pure white. In addition to being a different shape to the rest of the rooms of the house, the walls of this chamber are completely different from all the other rooms, as well- rather than wood leading up to decorative paper, or simply wood leading all the way up to the ceiling, the walls are covered in what look to be thousands and thousands of pieces of bright green jade, melded together and forming a tight weave resembling a wall of vines in an unbroken pattern, save for the archway that leads back to the living room. The jade vines themselves are not unadorned, either, with silvery script and symbols embedded directly into the material. Meditative mantras, defensive glyphs, symbols of concealment and reinforcement can all be found upon the lengths of interwoven jade vines. The ceiling in turn is also different from the rest of the house's theme. Instead of the blue stone tiles, the ceiling has taken on the luminous pigments of the sky of the Great Starry Sea, complete with deep, subtle, tidally slow pulses of aquamantic power washing down from above. A slender leothin sits here motionless, brightening its surroundings with its natural golden bio-luminescence. Bustling about with good cheer, a simple house maid dusts her surroundings. Tridemon is here, pondering thoughtfully. He wields a dazzling white staff crowned by a platinum pearl in his left hand.
  5. You see a single exit leading east.
  6.
  7. You have emoted: Gurashi offers a small wave of greeting.
  8.
  9. Tridemon flips his waves of cosmic fire back casually. <-- after us both making fun of the fact we forget he has curio hair
  10.
  11. You have emoted: Gurashi blinks slowly.
  12.
  13. Bizirik, the leothin looks up at Tridemon, the picture of laziness.
  14.
  15. You tilt your head curiously at Tridemon.
  16.
  17. In a voice like an ocean breeze, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Bizirik, the leothin, "Has he done a music yet?"
  18.
  19. Bizirik, the leothin stretches, then lets out a disgruntled little noise, slumping again as its muscles unclench.
  20.
  21. You glance askance.
  22.
  23. Tridemon ponders the situation.
  24.
  25. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to you, "Fingers still not fingering right on the strings?"
  26.
  27. You have emoted: Gurashi cants his head the opposite direction, pulling out his mandolin. He manages to play -something-, but it seems incredibly clumsy, as if he were just learning how to play music all over again entirely.
  28.
  29. You have emoted: Gurashi huffs, his face turning bright red as he stares down at the instrument, frustrated.
  30.
  31. You think to yourself: ** a disconnect between hearing the note note, understanding the note, and understand how to play the note **.
  32.
  33. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Mm. It's as if I'd forgotten what rain was."
  34.
  35. You have emoted: Gurashi blinks slowly, tilting his head the other way.
  36.
  37. You think to yourself: ** ... faint recollection of rain on the windows back home ... **.
  38.
  39. You stare at Tridemon, eyes wide.
  40.
  41. Tridemon reaches out a hand, allowing a swirl of water to coalesce on his palm. He idly pokes it it a few times, before turning it to show you... a misshapen sphere of water with two dots for eyes and a curved smile.
  42.
  43. You have emoted: Gurashi's gaze is locked first on Tridemon's face, then on your hand, eyes widening as the sphere of water appears. He creeps forward a little in his spot, bunching his shoulders. And then, he comes face-to-face with the now no-longer-faceless blob, blinking pointedly, expression unreadable.
  44.
  45. Tridemon reaches out and carefully balances the water face-blob on top of Bizirik's head.
  46.
  47. You have emoted: Suddenly, Gurashi lets out a short huff of air, like a suppressed laugh, reacing up to cover his mouth with his hand.
  48.
  49. Bizirik, the leothin is minding its own business, having a great time, when suddenly it feels cool, wet pressure on its head, and it grows very still, blank eyes widening in surprise. It snorts.
  50. With a sprightly skip in her step, a simple house maid curtseys before departing to the east.
  51.
  52. Tridemon watches Bizirik grow still, and lets her stay like that for about half a minute, before snapping his fingers to let the water lose cohesion, getting the top of the leothin's head fairly wet.
  53.
  54.
  55. Bizirik, the leothin sits up with a startled trill as it is doused in water, suddenly shaking its head out, then rising to shake out its entire body, wings flapping in protest. Gurashi lets out another sound like a silent laugh, shielding his face, and for a moment among the flying feathers and flailing limbs you can see him smiling.
  56.
  57. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Bizirik, the leothin, "Good girl."
  58.
  59. Bizirik, the leothin narrows her eyes at Tridemon in an unnerving manner.
  60.
  61. Bizirik, the leothin settles down again, lifting a paw to groom idly at its own face. Gurashi drops his hand from his face, his smile having also vanished, but he looks much less despondent than the minutes prior. He looks up at Tridemon curiously, shrugging his shoulders.
  62.
  63. You think to yourself: ** ... curiosity about the sphere ... **.
  64.
  65. You think to yourself: ** ...curiosity about you! a little rush of energy - how are you **.
  66.
  67. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Mm? Oh, I'm alright. Nothing much seems to be going on right now."
  68.
  69. You tilt your head, gaze softening as you frown.
  70.
  71. You have emoted: Gurashi bows his head apologetically, as if he's not sure what else to do.
  72.
  73. Bizirik, the leothin snorts, finishing its grooming and giving Tridemon the stink eye again, tail slapping the ground.
  74.
  75. You think to yourself: ** ....... many things ..... **.
  76.
  77. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches up to rub at his nose, glancing towards the wyrden flames that still cling to Tridemon's form.
  78.
  79. Tridemon tilts his head back to look at the ceiling. "... Mm. No, I'll keep it as it is for a while yet."
  80. You tilt your head curiously at Tridemon.
  81.
  82. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Was thinking of changing the room. ... it doesn't match anymore, I don't think."
  83.
  84. You tilt your head, gaze softening as you frown.
  85.
  86. You have emoted: Gurashi glances down, suddenly looking quite guilty.
  87.
  88. You have emoted: Gurashi's gaze drifts to the walls, looking at their vibrant colors with a frown.
  89.
  90. You think to yourself: ** ..... **.
  91.
  92. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "I can't tell. I can't see."
  93.
  94. You have emoted: Gurashi's gaze worriedly drifts back to Tridemon, and he scoots half an inch closer, hands settling in his lap.
  95.
  96. You think to yourself: ** .... a faint sense of curiosity ... **.
  97.
  98. You think to yourself: ** ... apprehension ... **.
  99.
  100. Tridemon scoots closer to the wall, poking at one of the jade vines lightly. "... No thorns, either."
  101.
  102. You have emoted: Gurashi stays put this time, watching Tridemon scoot, his head tilting to the side. He sighs a little, looking around the room wistfully before shutting his eyes.
  103.
  104. You think to yourself: ** ... ... ... **.
  105.
  106. You think to yourself: * an attempt to find that familiar place, but, it's ... strange **.
  107.
  108. You have emoted: Gurashi opens his eyes after only a few moments, staring dazedly at the opposite wall.
  109.
  110. Tridemon pokes at the wall again, having found a slightly loose bit of jade.
  111.
  112. Bizirik, the leothin's head slowly swivels to look at Gurashi, tail slapping the ground once.
  113.
  114. You think to yourself: ** ... tentative - it should be here right **.
  115.
  116. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "It should be wherever you want it to be."
  117.
  118. You have emoted: Gurashi pauses, opening his eyes and reaching up to nervously touch his temple. He casts Tridemon a worried glance.
  119.
  120. You think to yourself: ** .... fear ... **.
  121.
  122. Bizirik, the leothin stares implacably at you.
  123.
  124. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "They won't be there. Nobody will be there. You closed it off, remember? Very tightly."
  125.
  126. You stare at Tridemon, eyes wide.
  127.
  128. You have emoted: Gurashi pauses, meeting Bizirik's stare and touching his chin. He looks down into his lap, staring at the mandolin before shutting his eyes again.
  129.
  130. You think to yourself: ** ... **.
  131.
  132. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "It would be very hard- though certainly not impossible- for your mindscape to hide from you. It's YOU."
  133.
  134. Bizirik, the leothin stares implacably at you.
  135.
  136. You stare at Tridemon, eyes wide.
  137.
  138. You have emoted: Gurashi stares for only a moment before squeezing his eyes shut again, brow furrowed.
  139.
  140. You think to yourself: ** ... the more intently he tries to seek it out, the stronger a sensation grows - like being stung by bees, at first only tingling, then, unpleasant ... **.
  141.
  142. You think to yourself: ** .... what was doing again ... **.
  143.
  144. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Trying to find yourself. ... There's a flower waiting there for you, isn't there?"
  145.
  146. You have emoted: Gurashi fidgets loosely, brow twitching as he continues his search ... so strangely dark. Feels weird, and unfamiliar,.
  147.
  148. You think to yourself: ** gentle prodding... it must be somewhere, right **.
  149.
  150. You think to yourself: ** another rush of bee-stings, a wash of numbness... it's not quite there, yet, but moving you realize everything feels uneven, and looking down you can see the ground - cracked **.
  151.
  152. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Remember... the flower is a kind thing. No room in it for fear or doubt."
  153.
  154. You think to yourself: ** ... gentle apprehension ... **.
  155.
  156. Bizirik, the leothin continues to stare warily at Gurashi, slowly laying down to face the man.
  157.
  158. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Do you think it will hold being left behind against you? No, it will forgive you of everything."
  159.
  160. You have emoted: Gurashi wrinkles his nose, and you can feel him bristle faintly with frustration. He bows his head, tucking his chin to his chest, still focusing the very best he can.
  161.
  162. Tridemon falls silent, letting you concentrate without his interference.
  163.
  164. You think to yourself: ** no - am not worried about that ... you get the sense he genuinely -is- trying. somewhere. a gift... somewhere, in all the darkness, there has to be some clue but, it all feels so -big-, and isolating, and even as you speak it starts to feel bigger and scarier still **.
  165.
  166. You think to yourself: ** pin-prickling... creeping up behind ... **.
  167.
  168. You think to yourself: ** ... take a step ... then another ... move forward, because what else is there to do ... **.
  169.
  170. You think to yourself: ** ... will be like finding Miss Khep, exc... **.
  171.
  172. You think to yourself: ** .... **.
  173.
  174. Tridemon lets his eyes go half-lidded. "You could always take a step back. No shame in retreating to get a better look at things."
  175.
  176. You think to yourself: ** a muted attempt at understanding ... your voice sounds so -quiet-, for some reason ... but the instructions are understood, and you feel him move back, into the physical noise, foreign and familiar-- **.
  177.
  178. You shiver violently.
  179.
  180. You think to yourself: ** a wash of numbness ... a sedated sensation, tired and disoriented - an old synapse fires, triggering some involuntary muscle response **.
  181.
  182. You have emoted: Gurashi tenses, shivers, then slumps, exhaling sharply. He opens his mouth as if to speak, but no sound escapes. He continues trying to speak regardless, mouthing something silently in repetition.
  183.
  184. Tridemon looks a litle more closely at your face, trying to make out the words...
  185.
  186.
  187. You have emoted: Gurashi twitches, then jerks his shoulder, as if pulling against something. You see it again: welcome, welcome ... how can serve ... now we wait ...
  188.
  189. You think to yourself: ** the same words repeated aloud - a strange dissonant buzzing, continued pin-prickling - as you stand, somewhere in the distance, a glint of blue **.
  190.
  191. You twitch spasmodically.
  192.
  193. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... Wait for what? ... There. The blue. See it?"
  194.
  195. You have emoted: Gurashi stares at a spot on the floor, unfocused, mouthing the words again.
  196.
  197. You think to yourself: ** you feel like something is looking at you, unseen, untrusting ... **.
  198.
  199. Tridemon ponders the situation.
  200.
  201. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "I'll be back in just a moment."
  202.
  203. Tridemon turns towards the east and steps forward, instantly collapsing into a torrent of water that rushes outwards with a thunderous crash of water.
  204.
  205. Great waves crash over one another as they pour in from the east, finally swirling together before solidifying into Tridemon.
  206.
  207. LOOK AT THE MAN
  208. He is a compound-eyed kephera tidebourne demigod and his body is a strange combination of colours. Most of his body is covered in a series of chitinous plates, shimmering with violet-blue iridescence as the light hits him at different angles. In the gaps between the plates, the colouration becomes bright white, standing in start contrast to the deeper colour of most of his carapace. Standing at just under seven feet tall, his right shoulder supports the usual set of kepheran limbs, but his left shoulder and arm are decidedly different. Hundreds of shards of sea-shaded crystals have been embedded in his carapace, making his left arm look much more robust, if irregular, than the right arms, culminating in fingertips which have sharp shards of bright green crystal extending out well past the ends of the digits, as if they were gemstone claws. In addition, his lower left arm appears to be completely missing, with the gap in his carapace filled in with more of those sea green and blue crystals. Along his back is more evidence of some sort of trauma, with a half a set of folded insectoid wings with bright violet veins along the right side of his back, but with the left side completely missing, save for a jagged spike of shimmering blue and green crystal where the wing should have emerged from his carapace. His head is triangular and somewhat narrow, with the top of his head- a deeper violet-blue than the rest of his carapace- culminating in a pair of antennae, one of which is the same colour as his head and in two segments, while the other is in three segments in three colours. The top segment is an amber colour, the middle segment is emerald, and the base is an iridescent rainbow of opal. His eyes less extreme in their variety, but it exists nonetheless, with a hundred different shifting shades of violet playing across them at any one time. A shifting pearlescence graces his skin as he walks with the truefavour of Carakhan, Sculptor of Waves. Wyrden flames flicker across his form like a shadowy cloak, the sweet scent of roses trailing in his wake.
  209.
  210. Tridemon glances at you appraisingly, antennae twitching in your direction as he turns his attention to you.
  211.
  212. You think to yourself: ** ........ an equally appraising look - soft buzzing, curious, unfamiliar chittering ... **.
  213.
  214. You have emoted: Gurashi continues to move his mouth, twitching again. He leans forward, resting one, then both hands against the ground, as if trying to push himself away.
  215.
  216. Staring at you with his compound eyes, Tridemon's mandibles twitch to voice a brief, curious chirr.
  217.
  218. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "You're fine. You're safe."
  219.
  220. You think to yourself: ** the feeling clings, suffocates - continues to regard you, curious - safe? a pause ... **.
  221.
  222. You think to yourself: ** suddenly your stomach turns over, and the distant bird call makes you feel momentarily dizzy with fear - danger?? **.
  223.
  224. The soft sounds of a zither being played and the cry of a crane in flight echo in from somewhere.
  225.
  226. You twitch spasmodically.
  227.
  228. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "You're safe here. I won't let the mean birds hurt you."
  229.
  230. You think to yourself: ** birds? the word feels unfamiliar **.
  231.
  232. You think to yourself: ** the feeling continues to cling, urges you to turn. another string of involuntary movement: bending, checking, rising again, pacing **.
  233.
  234. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... Tisohepsut. Do you know where you are? Do you know WHEN you are."
  235.
  236. You have emoted: Gurashi shifts and moves to follow this bidding, like a marionette, no longer trying to speak.
  237.
  238. You think to yourself: ** now we wait **.
  239.
  240. You think to yourself: ** misunderstood or misheard - or ignored - you cannot tell - continued movement **.
  241.
  242. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Now... where are you going, hmm?"
  243.
  244. You think to yourself: ** a turn away from the flicker of blue - no, direction does not really matter. another pause. a few steps forward. bending, checking, rising again, pacing - listening, waiting **.
  245.
  246. You think to yourself: ** listless - anxious - waiting. -waiting-. alone. it's like you are no longer even here. bend, check, rise, pace. wait **.
  247.
  248. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... So what are we waiting for, you and I?"
  249.
  250. You have emoted: Gurashi stares at Tridemon - stares through Tridemon, no longer attempting to move in response to the unconscious directive.
  251.
  252. Bizirik, the leothin continues to watch you warily, tail lashing once.
  253.
  254. You think to yourself: ** sitting ... endless ... you feel like the waiting is endless **.
  255.
  256. You think to yourself: ** it is so -dark- and quiet here **.
  257.
  258. Tridemon reaches out and touches you on the shoulder with his right hand.
  259.
  260. You think to yourself: ** listening ... waiting - you hear the faint crackle of flame - memory? imagination? **.
  261.
  262. You stare blankly at Tridemon.
  263.
  264. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "You should stop waiting. And go forward. You'll find no music here."
  265.
  266. You think to yourself: ** ... bend... check... a little flicker of light as some flame dances before your vision in the dark ... **.
  267.
  268. You think to yourself: ** ... but she told us to wait ... **.
  269.
  270. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Who told you? Khepqet?"
  271.
  272. You have emoted: Upon hearing the name, Gurashi flinches, his gaze dropping. You can see him clearly mouth 'yes'
  273.
  274. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "But she can't find you. You locked her out."
  275.
  276. You think to yourself: ** .... but she told us to wait .... **.
  277.
  278. You think to yourself: ** a conflict - a strange desire to obey - a conflicting urge to turn back and follow the blue light **.
  279.
  280. You think to yourself: ** ... but she told us to -wait - ... **.
  281.
  282. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "She can't come back until you let her in. Find the light. Find music."
  283.
  284. You think to yourself: ** a shift in attention ... light? return to the flame that saw - the light here, the fire here - safe - **.
  285.
  286. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "The fire is good. But there's no music for you in it."
  287.
  288. You think to yourself: ** ... somewhere, you can hear very faint, distant running water, easy to miss, to lose in all the confusion ... **.
  289.
  290. You think to yourself: ** ..... looking you over - stranger, kephera - foreign? familiar **.
  291.
  292. You think to yourself: ** not princess - not princess - cannot trust princess **.
  293.
  294. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "The fire is good. The blue light would be better, though. Can you find music?"
  295.
  296. Tridemon starts to hum a very simple tune that seems to be for a nursery rhyme. Or possibly a simple hymn.
  297.
  298. You have emoted: Suddenly, Gurashi's attention is drawn back to Tridemon, as if honed in on the tune.
  299.
  300. Tridemon continues to hum the tune to its conclusion, which doesn't really take that long.
  301.
  302. You think to yourself: ** ... music - comfort. sudden yearning to follow it **.
  303.
  304. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Why don't you go find the blue light? It'll help."
  305.
  306. You think to yourself: ** .... blue light? **.
  307.
  308. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "It's a flower."
  309.
  310. Tridemon starts humming again, a different tune- this time, one of the classical cantor tunes that can occasionally be heard in part around the streets of New Celest.
  311.
  312. You have emoted: Gurashi balls his hands into fists in his lap, continuing to stare, though his eyes go out of focus again, eventually drifting down to gaze blankly near Tridemon's shoulder.
  313.
  314. You think to yourself: ** ... gaze sweeping across the black expanse ... where was it ... **.
  315.
  316. You think to yourself: ** ... a flicker of blue-violet **.
  317.
  318. Tridemon continues to hum- it's a much, much longer piece of music than the last one.
  319.
  320. You have emoted: Gurashi blinks very slowly, his head tilting to the side.
  321.
  322. You think to yourself: ** ... a tentative step forward, over one of the cracks in the ground, towards the light ... **.
  323.
  324. You think to yourself: ** no **.
  325.
  326. You think to yourself: ** you hear a faint tinkling, a scraping - a tiny sound that reverberates in all the quiet **.
  327.
  328. Tridemon pauses in the humming... "She can't find you. You locked her out. The fire has no music." He says, before returning to the tune.
  329.
  330. You think to yourself: ** again, more insistant: n o **.
  331.
  332. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... why not?"
  333.
  334. You think to yourself: ** suddenly, you feel a little tug at your feet - looking down to see that through the cracks ...... vines ...... ? translucent, like glass, thin and brittle and barbed **.
  335.
  336. You think to yourself: ** a great sigh answers you, the vines growing still as you stop moving **.
  337. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Why do you want to stay?"
  338.
  339. Tridemon fluidly waves his arms about his body and you notice that with each pass pieces of misty-purple phantom armour are revealed.
  340.
  341. You have emoted: Gurashi looks up at Tridemon, attempting to focus, but gaze drifting off again.
  342.
  343. You think to yourself: ** fear - fear of the open - fear of disobeying - fear of moving forward, bad things happen when move forward - denial of the obvious **.
  344.
  345. You think to yourself: ** the vines creep further up Gurashi's legs, settling around his ankles **.
  346.

  348.

  350.
  351. You think to yourself: ** the lingering recollection of roses.... a brave ... bee .... **.
  352.
  353. You think to yourself: ** N O **.
  354.
  355. You think to yourself: ** a white hot flash of fear - suddenly, the vines squeeze tight and firmly embed themselves, determined to stay **.

  358. It is now the 19th of Dioni, 561 years after the Coming of Estarra.
  359. There are 23 days until the New Moon
  360.
  361. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Move forward. That's the only way you'll find Khepqet again. She might be in danger. The last time I saw her, she'd been struck hard, and I didn't see where she went."
  362.
  363. You think to yourself: ** a thin, rogue vine angrily lashes out at nothing - N O **.
  364.
  365. You think to yourself: ** elsewhere, submissive, beneath the fearful lashing out: acknowledgement of your words, and agreement **.
  366.
  367. You twitch spasmodically.
  368.
  369. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Just screaming no doesn't make what you're saying true. It just makes you a petulant child."
  370.
  371. You have emoted: Gurashi lets out the faintest of grunts, head lolling to the side, grimacing, focusing.
  372.
  373. You think to yourself: ** fearful recoiling - dozens of little vines creep out and wriggle and lash at nothing, festering across the ground, sprouting through the cracks - you aren't sure you are heard **.
  374.
  375. You think to yourself: ** .... quiet, again: this is -embarrassing- ... looking towards the blue light **.
  376.
  377. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Is there something wrong with being brave, Tiso? Step forward."
  378.
  379. You think to yourself: ** suddenly, a memory, pounding into your head: Amun, showing you, Tiso, documents - the documents that will get you both out. this is a terrible idea, but if we are not brave we may be stuck here forever **.
  380.
  381. You think to yourself: ** the vines squeeze again, tight and painful - softer: n o **.
  382.
  383. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "You're hurting yourself, Gurashi."
  384.
  385. You think to yourself: ** tighter still - who?? **.
  386.
  387. You think to yourself: ** softer yet: -me- **.
  388.
  389. You think to yourself: ** for a moment, you aren't sure which is which, who is who - confusion. everything is known up to a certain point **.
  390.
  391. You think to yourself: ** you can feel the cracks in the ground growing wider - you know if you move forward from here you will find a strange... singing portal... **.
  392.
  393. The faintest scent of roses suffuses the early morning sun as the Daughter of Roses manifests within the Basin of Life, Her presence driving down the temperature ever-so-slightly.

  432.
  433. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Ah -- hope. A very strong emotion, even in shards."

  443. You think to yourself: ** .....distractedly, still listening: let -go- .... **.
  444.
  445. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Quite like the primal urge in flies to wriggle and twist, until that little gift that lives in all mortal things slowly, slowly...fades. The fly stops its twisting and it waits."
  446.
  447. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Like I said- move forward, and find music. It will hurt. But you will find what you love the very most."

  449. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "What is it waiting for, My Glomdoring?"
  450.
  451. (Glomdoring): Geran (from the Realm of the Lady of the Thorns) says, "Death, my lady. When it realises its strugles are futile, and the fangs of the Spider are it's only salvation."

  456.
  457. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Mmm."
  458.
  459. You think to yourself: ** the bleakness of the mindscape suddenly seems... very ... big and empty ... **.
  460.
  461. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "Does death really need to be within the fly?"
  462.
  463. (Glomdoring): Indrosiril says, "I would reckon so. It is only inevitable."
  464.
  465. You think to yourself: ** .... death .... **.
  466.
  467. You think to yourself: ** confusion **.

  470.
  471. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "Hmm. Look up, and imagine stars."
  472.
  473. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Ah, I did not say it has decided to die. I said its hope has faded. What it decides to do next is, well...up to the fly."
  474.
  475. (Glomdoring): Xenthos (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "It is not the fly's decision, Esri. It is the spider's."

  490.
  491. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "To follow in the ways of the Spider My Lady."
  492.
  493. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "To serve its tah'vrai, perhaps?"
  494.
  495. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "To not be dinner but be an ally to the spider and its following forces My Lady."
  496.
  497. You have emoted: Gurashi lets out a little noise, head wheeling about the room, looking for something to focus on before he hears the suggestion, tilting his head up obediently, staring but not seeing.
  498.
  499. (Glomdoring): Geran (from the Realm of the Lady of the Thorns) says, "It is all creatures, lowly or powerful, to serve their tah'vrai, Mistress. And none can escape it. Perhaps it does not struggle, because it realises that it's tah'vrai has lead it to this fate."
  500.
  501. The soft, delicate, and sinister whisper of a laugh begins to radiate outward from the air, pulsing across the part of your heart that is exposed to the Wyrd. You know the Daughter of Roses is pleased.
  502.
  503. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Very good, My Glomdoring. Very good."
  504.
  505. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "Thank you My Lady."
  506.
  507. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "The stars are out in the world. They live, and they shine for the joy of it. In every color, piercing through the darkness."

  510.
  511. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Indeed, it is."
  512.
  513. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "Do you have anything you would like to discuss My Lady?"
  514.
  515. You think to yourself: ** listening for hive noise, for familiar music - the Shadowbeat and sound of his own heartbeat strangely out of sync **.
  516.
  517. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "You will know when I do, little Spider. I do not need an invitation to speak."
  518.
  519. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "Oh Pardon, just merley curious My Lady."
  520.
  521. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "I didn't mean anything by it."
  522.
  523. Bizirik, the leothin's tail slaps the ground, drawing Gurashi's attention. Suddenly, he seems quite lucid - reaching out for the leothin and cupping it's angular face carefully, giving it a few pats before sending it off. Bizirik snorts, snuffles at his hair in confusion, then reluctantly slinks off, chattering.
  524.
  525. You reach out through your bond with your beast and dismiss her, sending her back to the stables.
  526. Bizirik, the leothin bobs her head several times just before trotting off.
  527.
  528. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Sometimes, My children sit in their webs, very visible against the moonlit sky, their bodies glistening with the blood of their latest meal. They sit and they know they are visible, for they are cunning -- they can be invisible when they wish to lure more prey."
  529.
  530. (Glomdoring): Indrosiril says, "Wisely spoken as ever, my Mistress."
  531.
  532. (Glomdoring): Esri says, "Lovely words."
  533.
  534. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "They choose to be visible for other reasons, which are their own. You can only guess at their machinations. Are they luring a different kind of meal? Are they displaying strength to what might try to bring them harm?"
  535.
  536. You have emoted: Gurashi's attention turns next to Tridemon, blinking slowly. He looks down at Tridemon's hand, carefully and with some effort removing it from his shoulder. Then, he begins the arduous task of trying to rise, shuffling towards the east.
  537.
  538. The call of a cicada welcomes the setting of the sun and the coming night.
  539.
  540. You fret over everything that might go wrong.
  541.
  542. You think to yourself: ** ... danger ... **.
  543.
  544. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Even when they aren't weaving, they're spinning webs, My Glomdoring. Be ever the spider."
  545.
  546. (Glomdoring): Viravain says, "Never the fly."
  547.
  548. A welcoming foyer.
  549. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Warm and welcoming, the walls and floors of this room are made from the same bamboo as the forest outside. Pressed and treated, each plank made from the jeweled bamboo is a warm, pale golden color, with flecks and whorls of the violet from the crystalline veins present on the living plants. The floor has been polished to a brilliant sheen and protected with some sort of coating, much like wax, but harder and all but impossible to mar accidentally. The walls, in the meantime, are bare up to about knee height, and above that, special paper has been glued to the wood, and painted with ocean waves in a familiar style. In each of the corners of the room is a sturdy pot made of glittering violet ceramic, filled with soil from the forest. Each of the pots also bears a single jewel-toned bamboo whose very top leaves barely brush the ceiling- itself a work of art, with tiles of some sort of creamy blue stone, which have all individually been carved to display the likeness of a different aquatic creature. The wall to the east has a door-shaped gap in the paint and paper, evidence of preparation for expansion.
  550. You see exits leading north, west, and out (open door).
  551.
  552. You have emoted: Gurashi exhales, using the wall to guide him as he shuffles for the door.
  553.
  554. You think to yourself: ** ... do not want Tridemon to be in danger ... **.
  555.
  556. The melodious voice of Tridemon resonates in your mind, "Are you alright?"
  557.
  558. (Glomdoring): Geran (from the Realm of the Lady of the Thorns) says, "It is always our goal, Mistress. Your Spinner has always emphasised the importance of continuing to spread the threads of our webs, even when we seem to be at rest, as our sisters, the spiders do."
  559.
  560. You think to yourself: ** want to eat me? want me to kill spiders?? want me to grovel?? want me to... do -what- **.
  561.
  562. You think to yourself: ** gentle pulsing, the vines squeezing anxiously **.
  563.
  564. Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters, "** gentle, anxious buzzing **."
  565.
  566. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "I want you to tell Me why I am sitting in My Web, little bumblebee."
  567.
  568. You have emoted: Gurashi finds the doorway, and pauses, dazed.
  569.
  570. You think to yourself: ... *sounding far off* ... Mother of Spiders ....
  571.
  572. You think to yourself: ........ *a fluttering beat, like a bird's wings in his chest*.
  573.
  574. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "It is the Spring. I am the Daughter of Roses."
  575.
  576. You think to yourself: ..... Oh.
  577.
  578. You think to yourself: ** a wave of confusion - so many titles **.
  579.
  580. You think to yourself: *softer still* Daughter of ...
  581.
  582. You think to yourself: ......
  583.
  584. You think to yourself: **a quiet wave of apology**.
  585.
  586. You have emoted: Gurashi shrinks a little in the doorway, leaning on the frame for support.
  587.
  588. You think to yourself: ........... You are the Spider.
  589.
  590. Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters, "** a distracted, urgent, clear intent reaches you over the aethers: stay away **."
  591.
  592. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "I am the Mistress of the Thorns, the Lady of Summer Song, the Daughter of Roses, the Mother of Spiders, the Lady of the Murder -- I am known by many things. Many merely shudder when they think of Me, for a name is too distinct."
  593.
  594. You think to yourself: **another gentle wash of apology....**.
  595.
  596. You have emoted: Gurashi trembles, gripping the door frame a little tighter.
  597.
  598. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "Why do you quiver, bumblebee? Why do you fear Me?"
  599.
  600. You have emoted: Gurashi lets out a frightened little huff of air through his nose, then exhales, straightening. He brings his hand to his heart, exhaling, bowing his head in apology.
  601.
  602. You think to yourself: ** .. subdued apology-- **.
  603.
  604. You think to yourself: ** --a recollection of the Lady of the Thorns, hand on your face, gripping your mandible, breaking, -crushing- - fixing, relief ... confusion ...? ...**.
  605.
  606. You think to yourself: ** hope - hope, you love Her -so- much and Her forest - why - why is it wrong to make others care the way we care **.
  607.
  608. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "Did you feel pain, little bumblebee? And that causes you to fear Me?"
  609.
  610. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches up to touch his temple, looking mortified.
  611.
  612. You think to yourself: ** an earnest attempt to control these racing thoughts and instinctive visuals - -stop- it **.
  613.
  614. You think to yourself: ** again, louder, foreign: -why- **.
  615.
  616. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "A pity. Has Mysrai taken your words from you?"
  617.
  618. You look about in confusion.
  619.
  620. You have emoted: Gurashi looks up, then quickly shakes his head several times, reaching up and clenching his hand at his throat, lips drawing into a thin line.
  621.
  622. You think to yourself: ** -- a strange sensation - words should not have substance, but when he tries to speak, a feeling like a stone settled at his throat - something too big to be said, words stuck, not lost, infinitesimally tied to the Shofet, but a result of so much -more- than the Shofet -- **.
  623.
  624. You think to yourself: ** a wave of embarrassment - too much **.
  625.
  626. Like spiders weaving a web, the voice of Viravain, Lady of the Thorns crawls across your mind, "Mmm. Then you are the fly, caught in Mysrai's web yet."
  627.
  628. The night air flickers and shimmers, the Springtime air growing lighter and warmer as the Daughter of Roses fades from mortal perception, the faint scent of roses lingering as She leaves.
  629.
  630. You have emoted: Gurashi exhales again, louder, shaking his head insistently, looking around for the source of the voice speaking with him, confused.
  631.
  632. You think to yourself: ** .... **.
  633.
  634. You think to yourself: ** ... **.
  635.
  636. (clan): Tridemon says, "... Vira got the WAY wrong impression from that interation."
  637. (clan): You say, "Ya but that's on me."
  638.
  639. The melodious voice of Tridemon resonates in your mind, "... are you alright?"
  640.
  641. You have emoted: Gurashi gently presses his back to the door frame, sinking to sit, knees drawn to his chest, hands folded tightly together near his chin. He rocks a little bit, struggling to find calm again, mind still reeling.
  642.
  643. Great waves crash over one another as they pour in from the north, finally swirling together before solidifying into Tridemon.
  644.
  645. You have emoted: Gurashi says nothing, not registering Tridemon's entrance.
  646.
  647. You think to yourself: ** gentle ticking, stimming **.
  648.
  649. Finger extended, Tridemon pokes you.
  650.
  651. You have emoted: Gurashi squeezes his hands into tight fists as he is poked, shoulders bunching.
  652.
  653. You glance askance at Tridemon.
  654.
  655. You think to yourself: ** .... tired ... **.
  656.
  657. You have emoted: Gurashi's head turns forward again, and he compresses himself tighter in his spot.
  658.
  659. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... I noticed that She was present in the world. I thought it prudent to not interrupt a second time."
  660.
  661. You think to yourself: ** ... tired ... **.
  662.
  663. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... do you need to go sleep?"
  664.
  665. You think to yourself: ** sleep - more empty-- **.
  666.
  667. You have emoted: Gurashi furiously shakes his head.
  668.
  669. You think to yourself: ** .. tired of - from - being so scared .. **.
  670.
  671. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "... I think you'd benefit from being out underneath the open sky and sun."
  672.
  673. You think to yourself: ** pin-prickling - what did I do - how do I make it stop **.
  674.
  675. You have emoted: Gurashi exhales softly through his nose.
  676. You have recovered balance on all limbs.
  677.
  678. You think to yourself: ** ... open spaces ... **.
  679.
  680. You have emoted: Gurashi's gaze drifts towards the outside, down the path, towards where he knows the beach is, just out of sight.
  681.
  682. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "You want to stop being afraid, right? Step out into the sun. Move forward."
  683.
  684. You have emoted: Gurashi lets out a little noise, wringing his hands together.
  685.
  686. A pathway from the beach.
  687. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. Transitioning between the violet sands of the beach, a pathway leads up to soil tinted by the sand, and finally into firmer ground. Rising up from the sandy earth and the firmer soil to the north are an array of jewel-hued bamboo stalks and plants, all of which feature sparkling, crystalline veins of the same substance and color as the beach to the south. The plants are smaller and shorter to the south, and growing larger and taller up to the north until they dominate the skyline simply by being dozens of feet tall. Within the bamboo thickets, a rainbow of sparkling jewel-toned leaves constantly fall, constantly regrow, leaving the ground that is not the path a sparkling riot of marvellous color. At the end of the path is a sturdy and polished wooden door, set into the wall of a house whose walls- painted a bright, cherry red- rise a story or two above the ground, but nowhere near to the top of the surrounding jewel-toned bamboos.
  688. You see exits leading east, south, and in (open door).
  689.
  690. You sit yourself down.
  691.
  692. Great waves crash over one another as they pour in from the in, finally swirling together before solidifying into Tridemon.
  693.
  694. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says, "The sun is better on the beach, don't you think?"
  695.

  705.
  706. Tridemon tumbles out to the south.
  707.
  708. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches up, wiping at his eyes. With a bit of a struggle, he uses the wall to push himself to his feet, shuffling forward with a grimace. He lingers at the end of the path, staring out onto the beach, unsure.
  709.

  711.
  712. You stand up and stretch your arms out wide.
  713.
  714. The sound of the name of the waves.
  715. Stretching out in every direction is a somewhat oddly colored beach- rather than white or brown or red sand, the sand here is largely a bluish-violet. In the immediate area though is a wide, pristine beach blanket covering the warm sands, along with a wide, colorful umbrella that shades a portion of the blanket from the eternal noontime sun. Next to the blanket is a wooden sign which has been planted deep in the sand, with the words 'Out to Lunch' painted neatly across the weathered boards in black and gold. Off to the north, a forest of rising bamboo can be seen in the distance. The light of day shines brightly. Perpetually ticking away the hours, the Immortal Clock of Past's Restoration stands proudly nearby. Sparkling liquids bubble up from a fountain here. Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters lingers nearby, the air about him singing with the rush of the ocean. He wields a dazzling white staff crowned by a platinum pearl in his left hand.
