  1. I'm going to be frank. This course, and your style of teaching it, is what convinced me that transferring to a different college and leaving Champlain would be the best outcome for me. The course is a complete waste of time, but that's the way of all Core classes, so whatever. What really made the difference was your complete disdain for your students, and your erection for punishment.
  2. Every time I would submit a classroom assignment, I would get a nearly perfect score. However, you despise anyone who misses class. Even with my medical accommodation that you were notified about and I repeatedly told you about, and we even went through multiple people to try and resolve it, you continued to strike down my grade and give me no recourse to make up missing work.
  3. I wanted to do the work in your class. I was willing to do anything I missed. You refused the opportunity, and my grade suffered for it. I was on the Dean's List, and outside of your class have stellar grades. It is you alone who brought me down.
  4. I think it's funny that at one point in class you mentioned how students not showing up for presentations made you furious because it is hurting the grades of the other students. Because I'm furious because you're hurting the grades of your own students and going in complete disregard for what you promised, and what the college promised me. The grades you give will impact a student forever. And it's not just me!
  5. Students who had surgery, who had family crises, who had major health problems! Fuck all of them! They missed the class! They don't get a second chance! I can hear you saying already, as you said to the entire class when I brought up how nervous I was to you. The class assignments are a small part of your grade. Listen, I get you're a core teacher. Classroom activities are ONLY 25% of your grade. I get it. Missing just a few can bring down a 4th of your average to a nigh unrecoverable state, and immediately lock an otherwise perfect student out of an A. I get it, math is hard.
  6. Luckily you've also stated, in your words, "I don't really follow the rules." And I agree! You don't! If you can give a student any grade you want, as you said you do, then why bother grading them at all? Why give points? Why does the average even matter? Just don't even bother! Slap a grade on them at the end of the semester. Why accomodate a student with horrible illness who desperately wants to do well in your class? Why even bother? Who cares that the college has medical records stating listed accomodations that you are supposed to follow! Who cares that your boss has been contacted multiple times, that the absolutely pathetic accomodations department was called in to ask you to stop, who even cares!
  7. I mean, if your students ask questions, just blame them for not reading things well enough. If they ask you to clarify an assignment, belittle them, and tell them to read it more closely! If you make a mistake, blame it on them, or on something else entirely!
  8. I have no comments on how to improve this class that don't begin with changing your apparent disdain for any student besides a theoretical perfect student. To you, if they don't show up for every single class, and do everything perfectly, have no health problems, no emergencies, no family crises, and no life outside what you ask them to do, they're worthless and should not be given a second chance.
  9. I get it, you hate your students. Please just make it more transparent next time, so we all can know to switch out of the class at the start of the semester.
