Everyone has a shadow. Every night has its whispers, we've all heard them in our dreams. But have you ever considered that perhaps these shadows, these whispers, are more than our imagination? Perhaps you know deep down that the faint feeling of being watched while you sleep is more than just a feeling...
They know. For they are one who stands in the darkness, watching. Reading your dreams. A single breath escaping their lips will send even the sweetest of dreams into a deep dark pit of nightmares.

But don't worry. It's not as if though he's alone.
No, no. There are many. A whole society.
A town steeped in darkness, sometimes faintly visible from the corners of your eyes. A town where they live, the shadows.

Their lands are a perfect mirror image of ours, except they're all steeped in the darkness from our shadows, for that's where they exist. In the shadows.
In this particular town, on this particular location, lies the 'Turnabout Light' office. In which the shadowpeople may arrange to become one of those steeped in light, shedding their pitch black hides to assume a form that is as human as they can possibly look.

Alice, is one of those who shed their hide to walk among humans. With a voice as smooth as syrup and silky smooth skin he has taken on the shape of a calm and collected accountant who dabbles in poetry in his spare time. His hair is short and soft, his hands covered in scars and would he remove his shirt a torso riddled with scars in different artsy shapes would appear. A mirror image of the markings on the hide he wore in the shadows...

If you'd look deep into the blackness of his eyes you'd know. You'd see your own dreams. And then, with a single calm breath escaping your lips, you'd see them turn into nightmares.
So he wears sunglasses.
After all, it would not be favourable to be discovered before he's gotten a promotion.
However there are other strange things about him. Like how he doesn't eat tomatoes, although that's probably more of a quirk. But how he doesn't have a shadow, that's rather weird isn't it?
