- My goals for each of the main Spyro trilogy categories are as follows:
- Category Name : Projected/Approx WR : Multiplier : Goal
- •S1 Any% : 36m x 1.2 Sub 43.5
- *(w/ rat proxy)
- •S1 120% : 1h19m30s x 1.25 Sub 1h40m
- S1 Cheat% : 1m35s x 1.2 Sub 1m55s
- *(Sub 1m50s/FWR)
- •S1 80 Dragons : 47m30s x 1.2 Sub 57m
- S1 Vortex : 19m30s x 1.2 Sub 23m30s
- *(Sub Gazco)
- S1 True Ending : N/A : Just sub 2h
- ________
- S2 Any% : 7m20s x 1.2 Sub 9m
- *(Sub Touval)
- •S2 14 Tali : 22m x 1.2 Sub 26m30s
- *(Sub 26m)
- •S2 40 Orb : 42m x 1.2 Sub 50m30s
- *(Sub 50m)
- •S2 100% : 1h30m x 1.25 Sub 1h52m30s
- *(Sub 1h50m)
- S2 40 Orb BS : 34m x 1.2 Sub 40m
- S2 64 Orb : 1h12m x 1.2 Sub 1h25m
- ________
- •S3 Any% : 23m x 1.2 Sub 27m30s
- •S3 100 Egg : 49m30s x 1.2 Sub 1h

- S3 True Ending : N/A : Just sub 5h
- (This would put my Trilogy Any% sum of PBs at sub 1h20m and my 337% sum of PBs at sub 7h40m.)
- My goal for most Spyro categories is to get a time approximately 1.2x (1.25x for completion categories) that of the WR (or the projected record)—or the closest benchmark/barrier to that for each. This equates to 80%-85% as good as the record, which is generally accepted as something around the level of a "competitive amateur" to “high-level competitive,” but not quite elite level. Of course, in reality several factors make "85% as good as the record" more difficult in some categories than others, such as shorter categories where mere seconds mark the difference between increasing performance ratios.
- This is especially true in Spyro 2 Any% (what I’d consider my main category), because it’s fast enough to make the few segments required highly optimized/competitive, while still being long enough to give plenty of opportunities to fall behind, as opposed to a category like Cheat%. So even in my main category, my time may not have the lowest performance ratio compared to record than some of my other times, but it’s still my best and most competitive PB, and is still within 1.2x the projected record.
- For example, when compared to one of my other primary categories, 14 Talisman, accounting for the fact that SiR is essentially required for a mid 8 (top 15-20) in Any% and only becomes required around a low-24 (top 8) in 14 Talisman, something around a sub 25 in 14 Talisman seems like a reasonable equivalent to a mid 9 in Any% because it reflects a similar execution threshold rather than just the same percentage of world record. A 26:30ish would be the percentage equivalent; but a sub- or low-25 is a closer difficulty equivalent to my 8:46 Any% PB.
- Either way, 1.2x is just the benchmark I’ve set for myself for most categories. I’ve extended my goals beyond that for a few categories (*), but I’ve also left my goals for a few categories pretty open ended—for a couple of the newer “True Ending” categories. I may carry some of these further at some point... who knows?
- Some of these goals are arguably not great times, especially for the completion categories; but even the lesser ones are at least decent, or good starting goals. I think they all amount to about the same skill level across the board. I still have a little bit of work to do in a few categories (•), but I've managed to reach at least the barriers set for most of these goals.
- When I reach the point where I’ve met these goals, my goal/hope is to be in the top 30 in both community power rankings spreadsheets, as that’s a couple ranks better than where I was ranked when they were created.
- For CE’s, my main goal is just to run all of them. For several I have made more specific time goals, but for most, I don’t push them very far. I also try to run as many meme categories as I can, as I see them or think of them. In general, I just strive for a decent run and then move on. Maybe one day I’ll be done running all the categories I want to. Maybe not… ‾\_(ツ)_/‾
