After we got back from the guild, we all decided to get some rest to heal the trauma from today.
Aqua and Darkness went off to take care of Emperor Zell.

“Komekko come here, I need to talk to you”

I was lazing about on the sofa while Megumin, having recovered already, smacked the sofa and yelled for Komekko to come.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I think sis is angry so I refuse”
“Komekko!”

Komekko’s intuition must’ve warned her to keep her distance, meanwhile Megumin continued

“Listen to me okay? I thought I told you many time to not ask strangers for food.  I can’t believe a member of the crimson magic clan was so easily swayed with food…”

Says the one who begged me for food before joining my party.

“Back when we were in the village, sis said to hustle food as soon as you meet someone”
“Eh?”

I couldn’t hide my surprise and Megumin averted my gaze

“That was then, this is now. There are no strangers in the crimson village so it was okay. But this is a town, you mustn’t accept if a stranger offers you food. You don’t know what they’ll demand from you afterwards”
“I refuse!”
“Komekko! What do you mean [Refuse], what would you do if somebody offered you food? I’m telling you these things because I’m worried you’ll just go along.”
“Of course I’ll go along! I’ll also have them to take care of me”

Seeing that her words went in one ear and out the other, Megumin slammed the table in frustration.

“Stop being stubborn and listen to me!”
“Sis is really angry”

The instant Megumin got up, Komekko turned tail and ran

“Stop Komekko, running away won’t save you! Today I’m going to teach you a lesson!”

Komekko ran into the kitchen, and with a click, locked herself in.

“Come out right now! Or else you’re not getting dinner tonight!”
“I’m staying here until there’s no food left”

So it wasn’t by chance that she ended up in the kitchen

“Komekko stop being stubborn! If you don’t open the door we won’t be able to eat, it’s almost time to cook dinner, hurry up and open the door… what was that? What are you eating in here? Don’t make me come in there!”
“It’s your fault if this place becomes messy, you started it”

“…Kazuma, looks like she needs to be taught a lesson. I’m just worried that it might be too late”

From what the Axis priest Cecily told me, when she met Megumin for the first time, Megumin happily followed her to the church hoping for a meal.
“That’s rich coming from you isn’t it?”
“Oh? If you want a fight I’ll take you on!”
“Go brother!”
“Komekko, stirring up trouble while hiding is despicable, come out right now!”

How close are they that they talk like this to each other? Though I guess even close siblings still fight from time to time.

“Wow I found a big piece of chocolate in the cupboard”

Komekko’s excited voice escaped from the kitchen
Color drained from Megumin’s face

“Komekko!? Please don’t eat it, I’ve been working hard on… Komekko! I’m not angry anymore so please come out?!”
“I’ll come out right after I eat this”
“Komekko no!”
